That comment below was a bit unnecessary. You seem to think that all of us "whites" feel like blacks should owe us something. Did you vote for Obama just because he was black or it was the popular thing to do? Or did you vote for him because you saw his good character and what he really wants to do for this country? By the way, your black president is really half-white, so not only did you insult all of us whites, you insulted your new president's mother and beloved grandmother who just passed away. I don't care if our new president is purple, just as long as he is here to serve America before himself and to continue to make it the great nation it is. If you look in the history of Africans, they are no better than we are...and if you dislike us whites in America so much, then leave.

People often speak of a Renaissance Man. How fortunate we are, as a Nation, to now also have a RENAISSANCE WOMAN IN MICHELLE OBAMA! There have been countless comparisons to ???Jackie O???. I mean no disrespect to Mrs. Kennedy however her focus in the White House was more on the cultural aspects of the W.H. itself and the things in it. How wonderful it is that MRS. OBAMA???s FOCUS will be on PEOPLE OF DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS working & LEARNING, TOGETHER, to make our Nation and our youth better through COMMUNITY action based initiatives! But what is additionally impressive is her primary focus being on her children and her FAMILY. BRAVO! I wish the Obamas well.

If you want to talk about race is it not Racist that 98% of Blacks voted for Obama? What if 98% of Whites voted for McCain? I am NOT a racist. I am sick of paying for things that NONE of my ancestors did. Can we not just all get along?

I am a white woman married to a black man with 3 mixed children. We all live as one happy family. Why cant people get over the past and stop being so raciest. We should NOT submit this kind of behaiver to our children, grand children ect. it is wrong!! We as one nation should be color blind. Just because oboma won (which i voted for) doesnt mean this becomes a raciest world. It is sad. VERY VERY SAD we as americans are acting like this. Remember Oboma is MIXED WHITE AND BLACK. One issue that I've heard noone discuss is how racist the African Americans were in this election.Most African Americans I've had discussions with voted for Sen.Obama because he was black.If I said I voted for someone because they were white I would be labeled a racist.Same old double standard.The most racist people I've met are black,just my experience.And I disagree with krsimpson.It is definately a black and white issue.This country is more divided than ever.I would rather give my money away to charity than support an administration that is obviously so racist.And also will tax successful citizens at a higher rate.I hate socialism!

Well hopefully Obama will be a role-model to all of those people who want to blame others for them not being successful. No one gave him this presidency, he worked for it. How many people probably told him he does not have a chance, but he did it. To those people who have been taking advantage of the system and been living off the government. Get ready to go to work, this president has no pity for slackers or people who don???t work to achieve their goals. This man is going to be the real deal. Many of the people who voted for him just because the color of his skin will probably be the same ones who will see there free-pass disappear. A white man would never be able to make the changes that need to be made or say the things that need to be said, but when a black man who has worked his way to the top gets there, he can. I expect he will.

With all the B/S Bush messed up on of course it will take Obama years to fix it. So it's only natural that things may not start turning around as quickly as we expect. Obama is one of the most talented and intelligent people I've seen and best of fall he never looses his cool or runs/say anything negative about anyone.
