For those of you who are not happy with the outcome of this election, stop complaining and blaming and hating. Just MOVE!!! you've got many places that you can go outside of the US if you feel that strongly about Obama being President. Seriously! We have too much to work together on right now to make sure our kids are ok and our future is ok. All this hatred and 'opinions' about things that MOST of these poeple have no idea about in the first place is rediculous! This is the UNITED States of America! Get it PEOPLE, UNITED!!! iIf you dont want to be a part of the solution REGARDLESS of who was elected, then you are part of the problem and you should just do us all a favor and move out of the U.S.! Period! I am sure Canada or Mexico even (if you dont like the cold) would be GLAD to have you!

I think Michelle Obama will make a gracious and wise first lady. She will know enough to put her in-put into matters that concern all of us and know enough to keep out of all matters that she can not help in, and leave that up to the political system. She can whisper in Baracks ear at night but that doesn't necessarily mean he will listen. She is a wise and loving mother and he is a wise and loving father and they will both make a welcome change to the White House.

I am astonished that the military who accompanied Ms. Obama did not educate her to the extensive support community the Services provides. I retired in 2002 from the Air Force and was impressed with the system of support to spouses. I was involved in developing grass mowing schedules, baby sitting schedule for spouse of deployed fellow airmen. I personnally experienced the support when I lost a son stateside while deployed to the Kuwait. My spouse and family were given more help that they could accept. Evertthing to food deliveries, funeral suport, medical support, and any other support you can think of. I do hope that president and Ms. Obama learn about what the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and other services do for supporting family members who serve the United States of America.

to Chief2002: Unfortunately, the days you refer to are no longer. Michelle Obama visited with many military families and found the support services to be severely lacking. We have short-changed our men and women who serve our country as well as their families.

I agree... having family living not far from Walter Reed it's quite alarming how we have neglected the most important citizens of our nation!!!! Much work needs to be done and I applaude her in doing so!

Here's what I'm afraid of .... my heart breaks for the people who suffered because of bad decisions made by people back them but at some point we have to accept the fact that we cannot change it and try to move forward and not bring the racism of the past into today. I am white and so is my 9 year old son. His best friend is black. He eats dinner at my house and spends the night. The day of the election my son came home and said that a brown kid in his class said that if Obama was elected he was going to make all white peopole be slaves. What is sad to me is the parents of that child have now made my child who didn't judge people according to color aware of the difference. I always heard that it doesn't matter what you say, what you see or what kind of flag you hang in your front yard, hatred breeds hatred.

As a 51 year old white woman, I'm shocked by how racist many of these comments are. I'm saddend that this level of racisim exists in 2008. I'll never understand why it matters what color Mr. Obama's skin is. He's just a man trying to do a job. Since when is America for whites only?

Help youself, take his fresh clean butt to Canada. He has just as much experience running your country as ours.

For my so called Christian way below who said God didnt choose Obama and God was going to sit back and watch us self destruct. Well he might watch you self destruct, but God would never watch his people self destruct. God works through his people, and what he has plan for us will be done. Barack Obama is President, that's what he wanted, It is done. Get over it. You are filled with ignorance. Find God before Satan watch you self destruct.

  • Posted By: chancubed @ 11/06/2008 1:19:16 PM

@ Melchi1979 ....... First, you need to get your facts and records straight. Barack Obama was not born in Kenya. He was born here in the United states by a Kenyan father and a white mother. Barack Obama is 100% american. Just admit that you can't stand having a black man as the president.... which unfortunately for you and fortunately for the rest of the real americans that voted him in .. He will be the President.

    • Posted By: laidylittlebit @ 11/06/2008 2:18:57 PM

well, we will eventuall find out if he was indeed born in Hawaii,,,,, If so why won't he release his real birth certificate....Ummm what is he hiding. it will all come ou sooner or later........what about this
First black man in the White house......uh oh, Black man inpeached for lying..... not us citizen...

  • Posted By: njc1234 @ 11/06/2008 2:18:28 PM

I pray that the energy some of you are using in these posts will be used to watch where our government leads us. Keep a watchful eye and take a stand where you see a need. The checks and balances are gone and it's up to us to be the watchers of our nation.

  • Posted By: CWoodie @ 11/06/2008 2:17:26 PM

This election was not supposed to be about race relations. The President's job is not to be a civil rights activist. His job is to be about protecting our country and doing the right thing for all citizens of all races..

  • Posted By: ifollowchrist @ 11/06/2008 2:17:13 PM

Obama speaks about breaking down racial barriers, religion barriers and many others. But isn't funny that some of the very people who voted for him and support him are the same people on this web site going on about race. Support your president all the way and realize that he is against the very thing you are discussing on this forum. God appointed this leader for such a time as this and regardless of who I voted for, I will continue to do my part, being called by God, and praying for the leadership of this nation.

I Love It Change is here Obama is a breath of fresh air over years of old white male leaders good look obama. You had my vote and have my support

I am new to all this blogging so I probably need to give it more of a chance before passing judgment but I must say that I am appalled at the some of the vitriol that is spewed.

If President Bush is that much of a moran or whatever negative descriptive adjective you want to attach to him, then I guess over 50% of American are morans, too. The Iraq war is a horrible war (as all wars are) and hind sight is 20-20. But had it all come together - had Iraq stepped up and taken hold of their new found democracy - just think of how wonderful that would have been for everyone in the free world.

skavar9312 needs to sit down with top economists and understand that President Bush kept this economy afloat after 9/11. Do you realize how that event impacted our economy and still impacts it to this day?

As for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, you had better also have a sit down with Barney Frank and Mr. Dodd for their nonstop pushing of mortages to people who could simply not afford the payments.

And finally, everyone in Washington - the Congress, the Senate, the White House - big banking - Wall Street are ALL responsible for the melt down.

Try to be a linear thinker....it is far more valuable than being a mud-slinger.

I just have one thing to say...Obama is NOT black, he is Bi-Racial. So...therefore I really do not get all the hype about his so called "race". Some people are just ignorant and always will be.

  • Posted By: Sephy479 @ 11/06/2008 1:27:03 PM

During this campaign I was completely disappointed and shocked at my parents attitude towards Obama. They have always taught us kids to not judge anyone on their race, sexual orientation, or anything else. They have ALWAYS taught us to treat everyone equally.

Until now???. My parents were so upset that my fiance and I were voting for Obama that they actually threatened to not pay for our wedding (in Sept 09) Their reasoning was that ???Obama is going to take our money and give it to the black people??? I am extremely shocked and disappointed that parents actually said this. I have always had great resepect for my parents, but right now I am very ashamed of them.

I will teach my children the same tolerance that my parents taught me, but unlike my parents, I will actually believe in what I am preaching.

    • Posted By: rontyronefleming @ 11/06/2008 1:50:49 PM

Well now you see your parents for what they are - Racist

      • Posted By: Sephy479 @ 11/06/2008 2:16:08 PM

I know. Its very disappointing and a little hard to swallow.

Especially since I have extensive medical problems and Obamas medical plan could actually help me. I paid 9k out of pocket last year in medical expenses that the insurance company refused to pay for (preexisting condition that I was born with) and I haven???t had an MRI in 6 yrs (I am suppose to have one ever two yrs) because I cannot afford it. I have a disease that causes tumors, and they can grow anywhere including the brain, so I desperately need adequate healthcare. I thought they would have been able to get over the fact that he was black, and vote for him because his health care plans could help their daughter.

But they still voted for McCain. Under McCains plan I would have been SOL- my fiance and I were actually planning to move to Switzerland after the wedding if McCain won. Mainly because Switzerland is non religious and they have great healthcare- which when we have kids I know our babies will need extensive medical attention if they inherit my disease.

    • Posted By: CRob25 @ 11/06/2008 1:40:54 PM

so did u vote for obama?

      • Posted By: Sephy479 @ 11/06/2008 1:46:44 PM

Yes I voted for Obama. We both did. We decided that voting for Obama was more important than my parents paying for our wedding. But I am still hoping that it was just a threat and they will still contribute to the wedding costs, but if not, oh well.

  • Posted By: dolorescranston @ 11/06/2008 2:15:52 PM

Who cares about girl talk with Hillary Clinton, where's my free healthcare card?!!

  • Posted By: bulldogs6 @ 11/06/2008 1:56:05 PM

Many of you who have posted comments on here sound painfully uneducated and your opinions are completely superficial. Barak Obama was born in the United States, Hawaii to be exact, to a white mother and a black father. His mother is American and his father is Kenyan. His father went back to Kenya and left Barak's mother to raise him in the U.S. by herself. Obama is not black. He is half black, half white and his ethnicity has nothing to do with whether or not he is capable of running this country. From what I have read on here, black or white, there are still so many racist people and it makes me sick. For those of you who hate black people, you are a disgrace. For those of you who hate white people, you are just as horrible. Quit wasting all your energy hating others and worrying about the past and work TOGETHER for a better future.

You are abolutely right. You rock!

  • Posted By: Melchi1979 @ 11/06/2008 1:10:25 PM

Michelle Obama might be educated...just not in our country. For her to say that she is finally proud of our country is a slap in the face to all the Patriots that spilled their blood on this land for our freedoms. And Barack Hussein Obama...I don't even understand how a man born in Kenya could be elected as our Leader. Oh well...
I guess history repeats itself...Israel wanted a king and kept asking over and over so God gave them Saul when David was the appointed one.
Lets pray that Barack doesn't hand over our Country to the opposition by claiming this supposed peace by joining to the ones that want to wipe Israel off of the face of this planet.
    God help us all.

Where was she educated? Isn't Princeton University Law School in the United States?

Actually, she received a undergrad from Princeton and a Law degree from Harvard.

President Elect Obama was born in Hawaii. You must be Republican as you are out really out of touch. Get the facts before you start the negativity.
