I knew it would not be long before the racisict climbed out of their holes. What an ignorant bunch of people you are. I hope all your children, grandchildren, neices and nephews marry someone of another race and have lots of kids with them.

Don't they marry each other? After all, it is a long way out of the hills to read those fancy things (called books) that the rest of us do so.

Michelle Obama might be educated...just not in our country. For her to say that she is finally of our country is a slap in the face to all the Patriots that spilled their blood on this land for our freedoms. And Barack Hussein Obama...I don't even understand how a man born in Kenya could be elected as our Leader. Oh well...
I guess history repeats itself...Israel wanted a king and kept asking over and over so God gave them Saul when David was the appointed one.
Lets pray that Barack doesn't hand over our Country to the opposition by claiming this supposed peace by joining to the ones that want to wipe Israel off of the face of this planet.
    God help us all.

Get a "gact check" before you make incorrect comments. Obama was NOT born in Kenya! He was born and raised in these UNITED STATES OF AMERICA; which gives him every right to run and BE President.

I am a conservative who did not vote for Obama. However, he has been elected by a majority of the population. Comments such as posted by mmateo at 12:39:04, comments which make personal ad hominem attacks on Michelle Obama, are tasteless and only serve to give credence that conservatives such as myself are ignorant clods.

While I wish that McCain had won, and believe that he would have made a better president, the fact is that McCain lost. If we conservatives wish to retain any credibility with the American populace, we should concentrate on the real issues and make intelligent comments on policy issues. If the Democrats have a good idea, we should not oppose it merely because it is from the other side. If the Democrats have a bad idea, let us criticize it on the merits, and not on who proposed it.

Finally, let us not attack individuals. I find it particularly odious to make negative comments about Michelle Obama. Her husband, not Michelle Obama, ran for president. Leave her alone.

Obviously "We're in Trouble" is not only a Republican but wealthy! The trouble this country is in didn't happen in the last two days - remember the last 8 years!! I know I do! The markets have nothing to do with the election. It's still reeling from this Republican Administration and the greed it perpetuated. This country needed a huge overhaul and I think we're going to get it. No, I'm not so naive to think that everything will be perfect. No president can get everything right. And god knows. Preidetnt-elect Obama is in for a huge job. God Bless America!

  • Posted By: Vanessa2008 @ 11/06/2008 1:15:37 PM

I voted fo Maccain ,because just like Obama, both could do a better job than Bush, but Maccain fought for the country more than Obama and he is also older.I think he deresved a chance of being the President of a country he loves so much! His last speech proved how good president he could be if he had won the election battle!!!!!!! Obama could had been president next time, but God let things happen for a REASON and now I understand that there is a very important REASON behind Obama become our new president and Michelle ,our first lady !!!! She might need some help with fashion ideas ,BUT The main point is not in the Clothes you will WEAR as a first lady, but the great impact she could make in Americans in general and in the minds of the African-american population. Many African -Americans " depend" on "Well fare " to survive and that is a FACT and not and ATTACK. I think Mr & Mrs Obama will be great examples that being on the Wellfare for forever....like many people are for years.... will not make you a President of the United States. You have to LEARN to do better for yourselves and work for a pay check instead of being in home eating "potato chips" on the counch and growing a lazy fat ass and make TONS of kids that you cannot afford to raise But relay on the "Wellfare" (Government) to help raise them. The kids are your responsability in the first place and not the money from the tax payers who work hard like the Obamas and myself !!!!!!!

I am proud that america can move forward, we have opened the door for everyone...which says alot looking back in history. So what if he is black what does that have to do with what he is capable of? Are you mad because OUR president (whether you like it or not) is young, educated, and black? Im tired of free enterprise and the trickle down economics. Can you imagine if McCain was elected? He would probably die of a heartattack or old age 2 days later and PALIN would the president. Can you imagine what would happen to this country when this dingbat would go through menopause? We would be forced to wear red flannels and eat moose burgers. WAKE UP PEOPLE it can only get better from here ...be glad he our president

Wow, she's so normal and unassuming! Why do they keep comparing her to Jackie Kennedy? I don't think she's like her at all except that some call this Camelot 2. I think it will be a better version.

  • Posted By: EmmDee @ 11/06/2008 1:15:12 PM

I just think it is interesting that everyone is focusing on Obama being the first "black" president. He isn't. He is the first biracial president. Obama is equally 50% white and 50% black. Just referring to him as black is something of an insult to half of his background, namely the white mother and grandparents who raised him (it would have been so nice if his grandmother could have lived an extra couple days to see him win). In a way, electing a biracial individual to office is even more historic given that there are still a lot of people in the world today who still have a problem with inter-racial couples or bi-racial children. Now if we can just get to the next step of equality for the rest of Americans and let anyone who loves each other be able to get married without the ignorant, bible-thumping, conservative Christian right trampling on the rights of 10% of this country's population.

iLL GLADLY GO BACK TO EUROPE IF OBAMA GOES BACK TO AFRICA

HE IS A DISGRACE TO ALL SOLDIERS WHO HAVE DIED FOR OUR FREEDOMS. A TRUE AMERICAN WOULD SHOW RESPECT FOR OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM AND OUR FLAG. OBAMA REFUSES AS IT IS A SYMBOL OF OPRESSION TO HIS MUSLIM BROTHERS. DONT BELIEVE HE SAID THAT LOOK IT UP. HE REFUSED TO SHOW RESPECT OF OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM ON NATIONAL TELEVISION YOU ARE ALL BLIND AND IGNORANT OF THE TRUE OBAMA

Another ignoramus speaks without knowing any truth about a damn thing. Get over it, he won because he is the better choice. As you probably said to those not in favor of Bush,,,leave then.

      • Posted By: Sakmhaiel @ 11/06/2008 1:15:10 PM

nmateo, You may considerPresident Obama a disgrace to soldiers for all your misinformation. But the other candidate signed an agreement with Hanoi when he was a prisoner, disowning his country and giving up secrets. Just ask the Vietnam Veterans against John McCain.

  • Posted By: mmll @ 11/06/2008 1:15:09 PM

thats the most ignorant thing to say. heaven forbid the u.s. finally let a black man be a president?? why, b/c only white men can do it? and our country has done so well with that. ignorant, racist, rude comment. and by insinuating that being muslim is a horrible thing and that he may join them? get your facts straight and open your eyes to life beyond the white man rules all idea.

This is the stupidest member log in in history. After entering the required 4 letter password with five letters and being told my password was too short. Big waste of time. Funny, I'm half black with a degree and have been looked down upon by BLACKS for not being black enough. Oh WAIT, HIS MOST HOLINESS IS WHAT?? HALF BLACK. But you say he is ordained. Get real. He's a typical smooth talking male. I feel sorry for you when he doesnt measure up to what he promised. But, as usual you will find an excuse for his failures as always. Excuse me. PUKE

I think Machelle Obama is Fine, she will endure many changes herself in the years to come, along with her family.. She'll do fine in the whitehous adjusting. As far as the Obama family in general, They deserve a chance like anyother previous canadates we have chosen to try to turn things arround. And her Husband has a very big job ahead, He sure cant hurt anything. Its not color, People get over it.. Quit pulling America backwards. If you think you can do a better job or have balls enough to try, get your behind up there and run yourself. I am very appreaciative he was willing to accept and take on the challenges ahead. We should feel blessed he is willing. He has hope we can Make a change, and he will look at us all as one, one big team. Not Black, whites, hispanic, or what ever.. ONE Because as a team "YES WE CAN" He has the drive and the will I will be wishing him and his family the best and as my new president I will be American and stand beside Him as I did with all our presidents past. I have never voted all dem, or rep. I vote for who I think is best for the job at hand. who I think can preform and complete task given.

From Sunday's Televised "Meet the Press" Senator Obama was asked about
his stance on the American Flag. Obama Explains National Anthem Stance

Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked
Obama to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National
    Anthem is played.

The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United
    States Code,

Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the national
anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform
are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand
over the heart. At the very least, "Stand and Face It"

Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, "As I've said about the flag pin, I
don't want to be perceived as taking sides, Obama said. 'There are a lot
    of people in the world
to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem
itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air
and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less
bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing.' If
that were our anthem, then I might salute it."We should consider to
reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better
offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to
disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren.
If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as the
nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails. Perhaps a state or period of
mutual concord between our governments. When I become President, I will
seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been
at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting
oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of
Islam an unfair injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many
personal reasons. Together she and I have attended several flag burning
ceremonies in the past, many years ago. She has her views and I have
mine". Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President
of the United States and I have put aside my hatred. I will use my power
to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope.
My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First Family.
Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America.

I am so honored to have Barack and his family in the White House. We will have a strong President with a family to match. Black, white, it does not matter. Our President-elect is a human being who happens to be black. His attitude of oneness is very dear to me. I plan to learn a lot from this man and his family. Anonymous, Estes Park, CO. USA

As a conservative, I didn't vote for Sen. Obama. I now have the opportunity to watch and see with the rest of our great country just what he will do and how he will do it. I know our country has had many problems these past few years but I do not believe they are the result of only one man, our current President Bush. The democratic congress and senate have something like a 9% approval rating right now so there is some responsibility that must be assigned to them. I plan to give Senator Obama the respect he deserves as President of the United States of America. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and pray for him to be wise in his decisions, his choices of co-workers and counselors. I will have hope for America, that we might once again rise to the top of our form. I will hope and pray that our leaders in Washington will stop their partisan bickering and fighting and do what is right for our country - not what is going to get them re-elected. I will anxiously await and look forward to getting to know Mrs. Obama and their children. Our new first family is making history and I wish them well.
