Why so much about Obama's race? He's not truly an African American or a black man. Obama???s Mother was a white woman from Kansas. His father was a Kenyan who abandoned his family after only two years of marriage and returned to Africa. He was raised by his white mother and Grandmother in Hawaii. Obama, himself admits that his mother and grandmother were "the dominant figures in my formative years and where I developed my character and core values??? So any of you whites who are afraid of his color can relax knowing he's a bi-racial man, raided by whites, if that makes you feel better. He can't possibly do any more harm than Bush or screw us over any worse than Cheney did.

I am a Republican. However, after reading the comments that have been posted on this site, I am almost embarassed to admit it. I didn't support Mr. Obama because I had and still have some serious concerns. Valid concerns. Not just hideous, vile, personal opinion. Please know that there are many fine, upstanding and God-fearing Republicans that would never, ever consider speaking to anyone or about anyone in such a manner. I wouldn't make these types of comments about my worst enemy. What happened to basic human respect? I am absolutely appalled. I pray that Mr. Obama is going to do a fine job and I will support him in doing that job because I am a proud american and he is our new president.

After reading the comments posted on this site for several minutes, I have a couple of observations. The first is that there is a small percentage of ignorant and verbally abusive people who have managed to distract us from the real issue, which is whether M. Obama will make a good first lady. Divisive tactics such as these were used during the campaign to keep us from concentrating on the true problems faced by our nation. My second thought is that by acknowledging these hateful comments we are giving these angry and mean-spirited people exactly what they want. Maybe we should ignore them and enjoy talking about our new first lady. Having said that, I would like to say that I believe M. Obama will make an excellent first lady.

FYI Governor Palin is under investigation by the Republican party, so that's where the problem lies with McCain. He messed up and choose the wrong running mate. Be angry with him and not President-elect Obama. He who laughs first laughs last. Now that's food for your thought!
