jey54 in Michigan: Come on people, get it together. Quit worrying if this is about white or black. This country has been in real trouble since we stopped being "one country under God". We finally have an opportunity to exorcise the past ... let's do it together ... under the auspices of the Almighty.

When is the press going to tell the truth about Obama's race. he is biracial which means he is not white and he is not black, he is, according to the science community, half balck and half white, biracial..

  • Posted By: casualobserver19666 @ 11/08/2008 4:23:58 PM

Can we work a slither of truth into the mix? Obama is biracial, whcih, in the science community, means that he is not black, he is not white, he is half white and half black.. The press needs to tell American this becasue they have no capacity to think for themselves.

I will never back Mr. Obama on raising taxes or cutting our military . If he refuses to put his hand on the Holy Bible he doesn't deserve the respect of our Christian community. Don't let the Bush's tax cut expire, my family has a hard enough time making it.

Protacal you are need to do your own research before you spout off this republican trash. He had to be legitimized before he ran you nitwit. And I am sure even more so than normal so now lets go back to McCain and his involvement with Iran-Contra and giving $430,000.00 to a member of the PLO, those are facts why don't you find some or can't you read?

  • Posted By: jonadam @ 11/08/2008 3:58:12 PM

protacal you need to grow up. its over get on line and let's all follow the leader and work together. you must be republican. aren't wondering why they lost a lot of seat, its because of obama's ability to influence people. we need change and sure your a*** need some change too. the American people have spoken and just shut up and let figure out how to fix the problem we have now.

what is unfair is your assumption that if a person disagrees with him they are racial. politics is like running a business you need experience good financial skills ,exceptional diplomatic skills you cannot and should not be wet behind the ears. this election became about peoples perception of righting some type of wrong or an injustice, it became about skin tone sexism and creating a new camelot this is rediculos commentors keep saying history was made it sure was but not in a positive . I love this country but iam ashamed at this point.

Comment: Incase you all didn't realize, Obama may had won Mcain by a lot, but he only had 52% of the votes of America. That means almost half of the people that voted did not want Obama to be president. And everyone keeps bringing up that everyone is either really up set or really proud that he is black, or African American. And then they say, well lets not talk about skin color. How much sense does that make?! Anyway, I didn't not vote for Obama because he is black. I didn't vote for him because, he was raised with a muslim background, has associations with terroists, and has VERY little experiance. Two terms as senator is all the political experiance he has. I do not have a problem with the color of people's skin. But there are a lot of people in the country that do. Like the white supremacy groups. It scars me to think what might be coming. I am afriad that having elected an african american president is going to be the start of a cival war! The african Americans are going to feel they have more power now that one of their own is going to be the president of the united states, and these white supremacy groups are not going to put up with that. God help us all.

    • Posted By: Raven0970 @ 11/08/2008 3:38:05 PM

Again, that is very fearful. What about all the good it can do for african american children to see him as a role model. People believe they can do things when they see other people like them doing it. What about the divide it may bridge between the races and continuing race issues in this country. Maybe we can move on to something more productive now. Not to mention the fact that he is an incredibly smart and capable man?

    • Posted By: brandons_08 @ 11/08/2008 1:15:47 PM

I do have a question for you Angel... You stated African Americans will feel like we have more power right?? Because one of our own is President. So is the big deal with this whole race thing is White people feel a loss of power or the idea of being lead by someone who isn't white? Just Curious...Thanks!

      • Posted By: msgoth1243 @ 11/08/2008 1:49:21 PM

What these guys keep forgetting is that Obama is multi racial..\I think it is ridiculous to keep bringing up the race issue. it is so "yesterday". Our country and many others are a variety of many beautiful colors. That is the way of the world now so deal with it and move on.

    • Posted By: brandons_08 @ 11/08/2008 1:01:17 PM

Angel_53...You have to be kidding me...?? You think there is going to be a Civil War b/c Africans Americans will think we have more power?? And White Supremacist are not gonna have it?? LOL..I'm an African American Male who yes feels very EMPOWERED by the election. Very Powerful, but I must add it's not the power to go and do stereotypical Afro-American things. My friends and I feel that it's time to step it up a notch for ourselves and country, continue our education, be better providers for our familes, help within the community. That's what we are empowered to do so if anyone has a problem with that, WHITE, BLACK, BLUE, OR GREEN...it's their problem not ours. And it's mostly the older generation 35 and older that has a problem with race. Obama gained 66% of voters under 30. Change has come the America and we all have accept it, or there's always other countries if the idea of a civil war scares you. Good luck with you endeavors.

I didn't vote for Obama, but like it or not he is the president elect and will be the next president of the U.S. We need to hope and pray that he does the right things for the economy and the safety of the U.S. over the next four years and if he doesn't, we will all pay the price and then we will vote someone else in. I am sure Obama is already looking ahead to the next election, so at least for his first term he will try to do what he can. Or it will be his only term.

  • Posted By: saddened @ 11/08/2008 12:47:13 PM

time will tell that America has made a terrible, terrible mistake in the choice of our President in this last election. I pray that our country is strong enough to survive the next four years of the type of leadership we are going to be witness to.

    • Posted By: Raven0970 @ 11/08/2008 3:32:41 PM

Are you afraid? Really? Look at what we just went through 8 years of. I think if we can get through that we can get through anything.

Well, the cruel, evil Repubs aren't done with Obama yet. The latest rumor they've started (ever notice how they always whisper?) is that he'll take everyone's Social Security, IRAs, etc., and put them all in one big fund to pay everyone equally. Is this nuts? Repubs, you lost because of craziness like this. Nobody in his or her right mind believes Obama is a Marxist, socialist, terrorist. Get a life.

Reversed or not, both statements make the same exact statement, but I appreciate what you were trying to say.

P.S you spell CONSTITUTION like this you do represent the youth best

hey jhold can u tell me what multi tasking obama did as a senator that sold u? do you work or go to school?

  • Posted By: jholdsworth @ 11/08/2008 2:51:08 PM

"Right now Obama is The One. Baby-boomer types exorcise the demons of the '60s by praising him; Gen X and Gen Y types love him for his youth (he isn't quite as young as he seems to be, by the way) and his cool, lanky multiculturalism. A lot of this is going to burn off like liqueur on a flambé. Real lefties will discover, if they don't already know, that Obama is a more cautious and establishment-oriented figure than they thought or hoped; the African-American community will find out that he doesn't navigate solely by their star"

If i've ever seen a pesimestic view, this is probably one of them. People don't give, us, youth enough credit. They think that we vote soley on age or single policies but I as a young voter didn't vote soley on one policy, on skin color, on age or even just to be a part of making history. I voted, keeping in mind the economy and our futures as well as the not yet eligible voters futures. I voted for the, "best candidate," someone who can mutitask well and represent our country and our views the best, someone that will take a stand and uphold the constution and all that we as the united states stand for. We represent hope not only for our country but for many other countries. Republican or democrat, rich or poor, black or white...it doesn't matter to us, its about our futures! Stop putting us in a box, stop telling us what we stand for and why we vote, We are a smart youth, we are a generation that isn't going to sit back and watch the world pass us by. We have dreams and aspirations and nothing will stand in our way to fulfilling those.

okay lets get this straight mystic-go back to your school days ever heard this RELIGION AND POLITICS DO NOT MIX POLITICS AND RELIGION DO NOT MIX

    • Posted By: MysticCobra @ 11/08/2008 2:47:11 PM

I respectfully disagree with you and those teachings, but yes I remember that... and thank you so much for repeating it twice... Anyway, believe what you want, but if you turn your back on God, God will turn His back on you as a person or a nation. God should be at the heart of every decision we make. You have the right not to believe that and I'm not going to argure with you about it. I will just say that we will all stand before God for judgement.

I think President Obama will face these challenges and do very well. If he uses common sense and knows that "A president does not a government make", he will excel. A few things need to change: Stop refering to him as "African-American". The President of the US should be first and Only American. Second, Affirmative Action can now go away. His election proves its not necessary anymore. Congratulations to the country for being colorblind.
