I am tired of hearing all these Christian freaks that refuse to vote for someone because they might not have the same beliefs as they do. This country is no longer respected by the rest of the world, we are no longer the powerhouse economy, we are wasting billions of dollars a month in Iraq when they have money to spend, and the terrorist group that attacked us is stronger now more than ever, and you want to talk about abortion, and gay marriage ? close minds like this is what is holding this country back...... Do not force your beliefs onto someone else, God will judge them not you. You do not have the right to take away someone else's right. It's called Love thy Neighbor, right ? Not, love thy neighbor (then in small print) under certain conditions and limitations................ Practice what you preach.

Obama's attraction is based on "making-up" fairy tales. Without reading something from prepared materials, his talk is incredibly vulgar. In his first media conference, he talked a lot about dogs and called himself "mutt", then he carelessly insulted Nancy Regan (I'm not Nancy's fan, but as a president, you got to have sort of class), all due to his arrogant nature (his mother once worried him because he did not show any social conscience when he was 14) . He is nothing comparing to true talented politicians like Bill Clinton and Tony Blair. His gift is to manipulate. He knows to use those best people to help his shortcomings, but he will perform central controls, more or less dictator type. His governing will be very much based on how well he manipulates things. I'm glad we are living in a modern time; all these tricks will be gradually revealed. He will disappoint millions of people, and taint the trust of African-Americans who elected him because of his color.

      Yo qaio,
Sounds like you've got it all figured out. Why not pack your bags and leave this country, beat the rush. We do not need to have another "know nothing, won't do nothing, talk nothing, lazy UN-American. If you can't pitch in and help repair the damage done by the likes of you then just split we don't need nor want you!
Obama was elected for his SUPERIOR intellegence and leadership, although he was running against 2 morons. OBAMA 2012

        Yo, Jkli:
I tell you I have been doing very important scientific research work for this country, I can tell you I have had much better education than you, although I was not born in this land. I am pretty sure this country needs me more than you!

Time will tell that the majority of American voters have made a terrible mistake. I pray that our country is strong enough to survive the next four years.

    • Posted By: waterman3 @ 11/08/2008 1:02:53 PM

If we can survive the last 8 years, we can survive anything. Obama only needs to appear better than bush to get re-elected.

    • Posted By: qiao @ 11/08/2008 12:52:23 PM

Don't make mistake. I love King, I listen to his "dream" speech every year, and tear every time. King was a great spirtual leader, Obama is someone who has to do things. OB can not always make himself like "God" to appeal people, he has to have ability doing things. So far, I have not seen much in him, besides the ability he used people.

I wonder if Obama will CHANGE now that he has been elected??? Will he now place his hand over his heart when the national anthem is played?? Will he learn how many states there are in the country he will soon be governing??? I'll be watching.

    • Posted By: colorpotrol77 @ 11/08/2008 9:00:59 AM

the same way your watched BUSH, now he has to clean up bush's mess and do his job.

      • Posted By: waterman3 @ 11/08/2008 12:56:49 PM

Please explain how Obama wins Virginia, North Carolina and Indiana if he is this non patriot.
I think you say things like that so you don't have to use the N word.

At least he has a heart to put his hand over.

a man must be judged by the content of his charactor and not by the colour of his skin.this dream of DR. king became true with the presidentionshipe of senator obama.this indeed reflects the victory of humanity.

  • Posted By: phoke @ 11/08/2008 11:25:39 AM

I am reading some very negative threads about the man we elected to be our next president. Some think he only got elected because of his race. I voted for him, but not because of the color of his skin. He came across as having more enthusiasm to help us overcome our economic and foreign affair problems. I am a veteran and think highly of others who serve in our military, but was quickly disappointed w/ the war hero (McCain) when he made such a foolish choice of a running mate. She knows nothing of NAFTA and thought Africa was just a country and not a continent. For all the college education she has had, someone did not educate her properly. She always sounded as if she were reading an ill-written script. It was so negative and bordered on inciting riot @ many rowdy republican campaign gatherings. I never heard a clear cut soluting from the McCain/Palin camp - only negative slander for their opponent. I tend to vote opposite of the haters as that is an indication that they are out of real ammo and have resorted to flinging "poo" like a monkey. I suspect that many others felt the same way too and should not be accused of voting for the clear cut winner based on his race. Truly, he ran a far superior campaign and rose above the "poo flinging" immaturity of his opponents.

That is a great post and I could not agree more. By far Palin was the main reason I took no interest in the republican party. The idea that she could very well hold the position of president in the likely event of McCain passing, terrified me. Her and Bush have this same level simpleness that they seem to think is cute or amusing, when it is in fact sad.

    • Posted By: Hal7000 @ 11/08/2008 12:23:59 PM

Phoke, what I am reading is all negative in your post; you need to remember we are all Americans. You condemn McCain and Palin based on media reporting. This is sad, very sad. You need to get more of your facts from other sources. So all you did was to add to the negative posting, slandering people you really do not know, or if what is reported is true. People like you are what causes divide in a nation. Read your own post again, you will see the negative behavior you start off condemning.

It's sad to be a ruling member of our country and not know that Africa is a continent (one of seven mind you) and not a country. That's scary not sad.

  • Posted By: advocate mudasir @ 11/08/2008 12:42:38 PM

it was the vistory of humanity.the dream of DR. king became a reality after many decades.a man must be judged by the content of his charactor and not by the colour of his skin.

Obama won this election, by taking a stand in his decision to bring back the American troops back to America, and inject the millions of dollars back into the economy, its decisions like this that makes him stand out from the rest...from South Africa....

    • Posted By: Hal7000 @ 11/08/2008 12:37:06 PM

You better research that comment again. Bring our soldiers back ???when the job is done???, and then send them over to Afghanistan. This statement didn???t win the election. Then injecting money into the economy, ???what money???? We will spend that money keeping our troops abroad in another country.
Our military will be fighting this war on terrorism for many years to come.

Actually , he is a real African American. His father is from kenya in Africa and his mother is American. If anybody is African American, it's Obama.

mr fineman, i believe everything you say man. if the president is really as smart as they say he is.he'll select membersof his cabinet based without bias, race, creed, color and regardless of frienship, whiskers, duespaid etc. to go into history a legacy. I'm sure he will pick the best of the best. after all, their are high stakes here. his job is to represent the COUNTRY OF AMERICA and THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA. you like I and everyone else,we hope he doesn't make this a PUPPET SHOW like past adminstrations..........

  • Posted By: exterminate @ 11/08/2008 12:17:14 PM

well he is not the first..there were 5 others and the most notable was Lincoln..so he is not the first it is not history making he is just another black prez..lol
Abraham Lincoln was our 16th president from 1861 to 1865. J. A. Rogers quotes Lincoln's mother, Nancy Hanks, as saying that Abraham Lincoln was the illegitimate son of an African man. William Herndon, Lincoln's law partner, said that Lincoln had very dark skin and coarse hair and that his mother was from an Ethiopian tribe. In Herndon's book entitled "The Hidden Lincoln" he says that Thomas Lincoln could not have been Abraham Lincoln's father because he was sterile from childhood mumps and was later castrated. Lincoln's presidential opponents made cartoon drawings depicting him as a Negro and nicknamed him ???Abraham Africanus the First."

President-elect Obama's attraction is based on his integrity and authenticity as human being asking for us all to see ourselves in eachother and let go of the judgement of ourselves and of others. He is clear, direct, and compassionate. Something we haven't seen for a long time. I'm looking forward to his leadership and hope people can let go of some of their petty criticisms so we can continue to grow and expand as a people and as a nation.

    • Posted By: getreal967 @ 11/08/2008 12:08:20 PM

No, that's Jesus Christ you're talking about, not BHO. His first press conference he degrades an 87 year old woman's memory of her husband - a former president; his first cabinet appointment he makes the former director of freddie mac his new chief of staff, this is leadership you're looking forward to? you deserve what you'll be getting...

      • Posted By: Open your mind @ 11/08/2008 12:16:55 PM

I'm happy to "be getting what I deserve". I deserve to not have moron for a president. To have someone who truly understands the position we are in. If you aren't willing to deal with a crisis it only gets worse. Bush was only willing to line his cronies' pockets. And thank god we don't have a president-elect that is more ignorant than Bush because with McSame as president, when he died in office that's what we would have been stuck with. A woman who's husband wanted to secede from the USA. Amazing.

Voice in America, you going to be sick to stomach for quite some time to come. Get over it. The man won by a wide margin. Something that didn't happen in the last two elections; one of which was certainly fixed (or broken depending on your outlook). Making decisions about that will help our country get through severe crises created by our neoconservative movement that has been motoring along for the last eight years, does not make Obama a socialist or Marxist. It's simply an attempt to make things right, to bring us back from moronic leading blind as has been the case as long Rove, excuse me, Bush has been in power. Being called a typical white person shouldn't be taken as an offensive comment unless it is followed by a denotative, not connotative, qualifier. Just give him a chance before you make up lies about things that don't have basis in fact like his relationship with a terrorist. The man was 8 years old when Ayers was doing his thing. Think, you can do it. Open you mind and think for yourself. Believe in what you may but think before allowing the church to tell you how it is.

  • Posted By: exterminate @ 11/08/2008 12:03:14 PM

he isnt the first black president...lol there were others...read up on you history...obama is not the first black president. Google Black Presidents...and yu will find Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln among the others...read into their history and about them...you will see

  • Posted By: Dr. Bruce Channler @ 11/08/2008 11:57:50 AM

I agree completely with the previous entry. It's time to evolve a little and go beyond attacks and negativity. Obama is a leader and his authenticity is what makes him real. True integrity is being honest and Obama doesn't have a problem with that. He speaks to Americans as he would to his closest friends. It's our job as citizens to take some responsibilty and work on ourselves instead of attacking who we've put in office.

  • Posted By: peacetrain @ 11/08/2008 11:34:44 AM

How quick you were to go negative. I think it is really pathetic that you are alreay looking for what will go wrong. Obama never said he could do this alone and never promised to solve all of America's problems in a day. You operate on fear, and it is the politics of fear that got us in this mess. I am not buying your cinicism... and neither is the majority this time.

Voice in America: Sad. Sad. Sad. You've had a long sip of the racist Kool-aid offered up by a vile, fearful party. What is "un-freak-in" real is the level of your ignorance and intolerance. You, and your ilk, live in and attempt to perpetuate, fear and intolerance. God help you and those out there like you who live in bigoted darkness during the light of this new civility. Please go crawl back beneath your rock and bring your pals with you.

Voice in America: Sad, sad, sad. You've had a sip of the racist kool-aid and now continue the evil-doing sof a party that lobbed patently false accusations at our President-elect. Lies serving as straws for you to desperately cling to. God be with you--and those of your ilk--who exist with your closed-minds and fearful hearts in this new chapter of civility in America.

I AGREE, LETS NOT JUDGE OUR NEW PRESIDENT ELECT OBAMA BY HIS RACE. LETS JUDGE HIM BY WHAT HE IS GOING TO DO FOR OUR GREAT NATION. HE FACES MANY GREAT CHALLENGES AHEAD. LETS GIVE HIM A CHANCE BEFORE WE START JUDGING.
