Oh, well....as we didn´t know it already months ago - when Obama shouted "Hillary Clinton is old Washington - we will bring CHANGE to Washington!"
Of course it had to happen; he NEEDED the Clintons, and people "hating" the Clintons were suddenly upset that Bill Clinton "didn´t do enough for Obama". Now he is picking the Clinton people to support him. Which only confirms they were right; he does not have enough experience, made enough connections by himself, nor will it be the "big change" he won this election on - squeezing out much more experienced and skilled people, with verbally "hitting without making bruises"; well done, you - throwing dirt with what you are NOT saying, manipulating with words....and people just go right into the trap.

That said; I do think this was the best choice of the two - but far behind what we could have had with the much more experienced Hillary - who would stand more firmly on her own two feet.
So much going on during a campaign, where things are heated up, and people just throw stuff out without reflecting - and the bias media and their articles making the heat worse.
All the Newseek articles on "white racists", that "could cost Obama the White House" - and that there would be "riots if he doesn´t win"; all just stirring up racial divide.
So now what, those of you who shouted "foul!", "racist!" - when you see the man get elected by getting the majority of white votes, "white people" all around the States and elsewhere in the world, cheering for his victory? That tell you anything? Also.....does any of this touch and change the heart of Wright and his fellow preachers of"racist whites"?

Now the question "did it help Obama to be of color", suddenly is discussed in articles, while when Geraldine Ferraro long time ago addressed that, she got fired; Obama and the media was "enraged".
So many bad thing happening in these campaigns, and Obama and Axelrod has cleverly been masking their attacks behind "just innocent and well meaning me" - "bad others, playing race card and divisive exchange".

Well, well...it´s done. So - time will tell. Might be a good thing "race won" - to heal the wounds that never seem to stop bleeding, to make the wounded heal and see that the world has changed - and maybe, as countries who "hate America", found "their man" in Obama......bridges can be built.

Some people have already made comments on CNN that "maybe next time, a man from a minority group can be President!".
    So...it´s still about men.....
I´ll be thrilled, when we as a nation, as a world, will accept a woman in the position as President - and not seeing it as "cute" that they run.
We have, obviously, a long way to go before that happens. I never really thought so, before the treatment of Hillary

"We have, obviously, a long way to go before that happens. I never really thought so, before the treatment of Hillary"

I was ready to support Hillary during the primaries. Then she bankrupted her campaign twice, started talking out of her butt about Bosnia, and finally capped a wave of self-centeredness she'd been displaying by suggesting that Obama should concede her the nomination because "we all remember RFK". Quite honestly, the fact that Hillary *was* in the White House for eight years already, with the closest ear of the President at that time, might have had something to do with it too.

I am *furious* that you seem to think this is about sexism. Hillary's gender might have been a positive for me - and then she ran her campaign and all issues of race or gender were swept aside. I was ready to vote for change of any kind as long as it was surrounded by level-headedness and competence. I don't think Hillary convincingly demonstrated those things in her campaign, with a campaign that was frequently disorganized and ran itself out of money twice. After THAT - not because of your purported sexism - I didn't want to vote for her.

Hillary could have won against Barack. She had to do so on her own merits, and she did not. She is still a FINE and ACCOMPLISHED Senator and those people still bitter about her "failure" should remember that it is an honor, a gift and a grace to be able to serve in the American Senate, not to mention that Hillary is one of the most powerful people in the Senate and her party on top of it. You act like Obama won and Hillary got busted down to White House dogcatcher or something.

If Hillary had won, the media would be conducting the same kind of love affair they're doing with Obama about how historic it would be to have a woman president. Instead, Barack won. I urge you to get over your bitterness and rejoin the rest of the country in trying to rebuild our nation in difficult times.

The reasons for the drop are 1. Business out there is that bad and 2. the markets saw an extremely liberal president with an extremely liberal congress. Jobs will be lost, i bet 10% unemployment before it gets bettter, businesses will fail and all of you who heard 95% of americans will get a tax cut, think again. anyone making $42K will have taxes increased. It is going to get much much worse before it gets better out there and there is nothing your precious savior can do about it. And when it does get better on its own like it alwyas does naturally, not because of a president, he will spend like crazy, grow government, and increase taxes on everyone but those on welfare. Overpromis, under-deliver..just another politician doing what it takes to get elected.

Yes it will get much much worse before things in our lives will get better. The difference is leadership. Shall we tear each other apart; or buckle down, work harder, continue to sacrifice and collectively build toward better days in the future?

We have the biggest debt of all countries in the world combined. There will be massive layoffs, and despair. We need a leader to help us through when we dont see the light. That will execute a plan that can get us back on solid ground in the next TEN years.

If McCain / Palin won, martial law and further divides of America would occur. We would be spread so thin in world wars that it could take 100 years for us to get back on top. Seriously. All of us would have to go get guns, because the white militia and private contractors for hire are toting semi-automatic weapons that are not made for hunting animals and commit genocide against non-whites and ethnic cleansing of muslims.

America has set the course that we come behind Obama and focus our collective resources to build toward economic prosperity; based on positive energy hard work and the brilliance of America's multi-cultural people. As a result, not only can we get back on our feet in a few years, but we will be respected leaders the world over and have a safer and cleaner environment.

Who wants a world of anarchy with no government accountabilty, gun-toting racists scape-goating hard working undocumented workers, many refugees forced to flee their land as multi-national corporations hire guns and steal children to steal the oil, diamonds and natural resources of the third world. That we would treat these families who are only trying to survive with disdain. American has rejected that negativity and we move forward now as one.

site sources, Site Sources, SITE SOURCES!!!!! Where on earth does it say that americans making 42k a year will get a tax increase? Show me the link, and then maybe your posts may get a little legitimacy instead of being complete bile.

Way to be bi-partisan Barry?? LOL!!

  • Posted By: Amma @ 11/07/2008 6:29:54 AM

As a business entreprenur and executive, i know that plan AND implementation are critical. I dont know Rahm, but i know that it is a time that we move with a sense of urgency and purpose. That a solid core team, built on trust and integrity is crucial. Many people have great ideas, but few are good and leadership and execution. Once again, Obama makes the right choice.

Obama will be ready on Day One.

  • Posted By: nobama.express @ 11/06/2008 8:08:34 PM

Well Obama fooled me.... I'm a sucker.

I really thought he was bipartisn and not a typical politican.

Now only 24 hours after the electon, he chooses one of the most partisn people for chief of staff. Rahn has voted with his party 99% of time, on top of it he has publically said " they (republicans) can F--- themselfs"

Plus he is being investigated by a special task force, plus he is part of the chicago machine. Check out the article in Chicago tribune. This is so disappointing.

I hope Obama has not sucker us on everything.

You have little to worry about Rahm Enmanuel, you are getting the talking points of the right, who don't like him because this is someone who doesn't take jive from nobody and they won't be able to manipulate. They don't like him because he gets things done.

    • Posted By: rexymeteorite @ 11/07/2008 1:28:23 AM

Obama didnt fool you, youve spewed your hatred for him since before the election.

  • Posted By: Cazador1972 @ 11/07/2008 2:23:43 AM

The fact that conservatives don't like this pick is because Rahm Enmanuel takes no jive from nobody, this is not a guy they can manhandle or manipulate. Obama has disproved the fears I had from the beginning, that he would be soft, he's anything but. He'll listen but he'll fight for his agenda. This is good news.

    Rahmbo??? is a GREAT choice.
    This is a WIN WIN.
Rahm know the ropes and traps in the position.
He's more nimble them Polsi or Reid - Sharp enough to handle the Republican Shrill machine.
Besides this is his GREAT opportunity to practice his chops for becoming a Speaker of the House someday.
He'll be GREAT at moving the House and Senate in the direction it SHOULD go NOT wants to go.
Oh yeah... a WIN for us too.

    • Posted By: nobama.express @ 11/06/2008 8:15:02 PM

from Chicago tribune: at that moment, Emanuel would not, could not censor his glee, or restrain his distaste for the defeated Republicans. I think the quote from Obama future chief of staff is somthing like "They (republicans) can go F--- themselves"

Thanks Obama for picking a guy who is so fair and smart.

      • Posted By: rexymeteorite @ 11/07/2008 1:24:41 AM

and boy o boy, with a name like "nobama.express" you sure are a credible and bipartisan source, huh. I will value your opinion forever.

      • Posted By: rexymeteorite @ 11/07/2008 1:23:12 AM

Thats actually what I said too..huh, what a coincidence....

    • Posted By: buffet @ 11/06/2008 7:29:26 PM

You are right on point it is a WIN - WIN. If Obama put a no name in this seat they would have his head. He is to intelligent to do that. Rahm will get them moving, he has the skills. Obama will be the motivator and he will be the voice that will be heard.

  • Posted By: MzKeke @ 11/06/2008 10:16:45 PM

Lol I LOVE his nickname, Rahmbo, that's such an awesome name!! Rahm's gonna bring the big guns!!

  • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 11/06/2008 10:12:25 PM

Rhambo was a senior aide to Bill Clinton. He can handle anything.

The handwritten prayer left by Barack Obama in the cracks of Jerusalem's Western Wall; Lord _ Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will. The prayer has been answer !

    • Posted By: Vypurr @ 11/06/2008 9:14:06 PM

Wow. Obama told you this? i thought that prayer was private.

      You must feel very privileged.

Newly elected President Obama has demonstrated consistency and tact. He will make some decisions he knows will come with criticism. Qualified leaders are out there, the difference will be are they willing to rethink their choices and make ethical decisions taking our nation to a new height. We have to use what we have and Obama can tailor his cabinet anyway he wants, I have confidence and prayer riding on changes. We have trusted former presidents, he deserves our trust and support of his judgement. Don't be too anxious to judge, change is progressive!

    • Posted By: nobama.express @ 11/06/2008 8:12:42 PM

Obama has made a VP choice is is typical politics

Obama has made a partisn choice for Chief of staff, he is even being investigated.

      He fooled us all...

  • Posted By: rosychick123 @ 11/06/2008 6:47:38 PM

Obama's PRESIDENCY has been praised by the entire world hoping that being a just, fair and decent human being, the way he has portrayed himself, he will bring respect for America and he will established America as the kinder, gentle, peace loving, fair and just Super power.
But within 24-hours he is losing the respect from some of the world Nations including the oppressed Palestinians by appointing the harsh and right wing Israel leaning Jew as his Chief Of Staff. IF HE WILL CONTINUE SUCH APPOINTMENTS, PEOPLE WILL FIND OUT VERY SOON, WHETHER HE IS CAPABLE OF MAKING ANY POITIVE CHANGES IN THE AMERICAN POLICIES OR WILL USE THE SAME OLD CARDS? AND LIKE BUSH, HE WILL ALSO LOSE HIS AND AMERICA'S IMAGE WITHIN FEW DAYS OR MONTHS.

Please, in a time when inclusion is what the Obama campaign and presidency is supposed to be all about, find another venue to spew your venom.

  • Posted By: practicalmagicke @ 11/06/2008 6:41:11 PM

He's the president and has a right to choose whoever he thinks is the right person for the job; get over it.

  • Posted By: thebob.bob @ 11/06/2008 6:37:51 PM

Oh Please! Listen to the Republicans whimper. Can you imagine someone might come into the WH and strong arm the loyal opposition? They don't know anything but hyper-partisanship. Why don't they just sit down, shut up and let the new President get to work. You'd think they didn't learn anything from their trouncing at the polls the other day.
