So, the bipartisan consensus builder Mrs. Palin couldn't even acknowledge fellow Republican John Sununu (who is pro-choice)? And Todd was making calls up to Alaska, playing the role of power broker. What a family! You just cannot make this stuff up. Many thanks to Newsweek. We need to bring out ALL of the details into the light of day. Put Country First; keep the Wasaillabillies out of Washington.

This was an absolute joy to read. I have already recommended this article to all my friends. Congratulations.

This is like a novel that you cant put down. It just sucks the reader in..not wanting to move away from it until its over.

A man is know by the friends he keeps - somehow all through this article, this thought kept coming back to me. I respect Mc Cain more now after reading this. I love Obama as always. If Obama can run the country as well as he ran his campaign, there's nothing to stop America!

I have so enjoyed reading this series...I am sad there are no more chapters! It was truly fascinating stuff.

Team McCain put America in jeopardy with Palin as VP. Imagine McCain won , at 72 died in office and Palin had the nuclear codes. Scary

I agree ... she would have probably used them figuring somehow in her perverted thinking that God had given them to her to initiate the end of the world so Jesus could finally return.
Funny how some 1 who claims to be a devote christian to the point of snubbing her fellow republicans at rallies has no clue about the 10 commandments or the ramifications of breaching "thou shalt not steal" and "thou shalt not bear false witness against they neighbor".
If she believes in the bible as literal as she claims, I also want to understand why she believes her daughter needs a nice wedding almost a year after the baby will be born instead of what the bible calls for - stoning to death in the public square.

That article was absolutely hilarious on the Palin front.. Hmmm Mr. Palin calling bigwigs of Alaska not to send "The Powder", at first I thoughr Newsweek or Mr. Palin was alluding to cocaine!!1 Can anyone really imagine Todd Palin in his borrowed clothes and baby in arms calling Joe Sixpack to hold the money?? This reporting was a joke right?? The article also mentioned Gov. Palin answering the door in a towel!! Those hotel towels are huge, ha, ha! What is wrong Newsweek, you sound more like a tabloid , fighting within a campaign, who could believe it?? I can barely spend a car ride to a fasr food chain without breaking a fight up !!I think you need to be extremely careful of making President Elect Obama the next best thing... We all know what happens whe n people are built up so high, there is nowhere left to go... be like Obama reasonable...

McCain must not have read the book. Robert Jordan is a charecter in For Whom the Bell Tolls. At least he got the author correct.

Now that we have a black president can we start treating minorities as equals. By equals I mean holding them accountable for their actions as human beings. I am tired of white elitest excuses of they can't help themselves that is just how they are. This attitde is just as racist as white supremecy.

A marvellous piece of journalism, thank you very much! It made for a breathtaking read and I've mailed the link to this series to everyone I know. I'll check tomorrow if it's in the print version of Newsweek, or maybe will be next week. Kudos to Evan Thomas and everyone who contributed! This was excellent.

WOW! Thank you for this incredible series! For those of us going through campaign withdrawal, this excellently written series has provided a day or two more excitement. Congratulations on one of the best series or news articles I've read in a long, long time. Can't wait to read a similar series about the Obama administration down the road!!!
