Brains Are Back!

I think most self-identified "liberals", when criticizing "Republicans" need to differentiate between the traditional Republic party of 20+ years ago and the goons of the neo-con wing that has hi-jaacked the Republican party and made their own members to believe the word "liberal" to equate sodomists, Hollywood-types, and hippies.

There are plenty of very good Republicans in government but their end-of-days-believin' cuzins took over the media mikes and replaced it with a bully pulpit.

Sarah Palin took things to comedic heights with her belief that "creationist" views should be taught. This from someone who rarely reads (like W), and has a very shallow depth of world politics, less alone world geography.

Real Republicans are not what Hirsh here is criticizing. He is talking about the lunatics that was the Bush Administration and his crazy cohorts of Cheny, Rove, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Ashcroft, Gonzalez, "helluva-job Brownie", and all the neo-cons who pretty much assumed that their actions were directives from God.

Remember when Bush was asked if he ever got advice from his father and Bush said he gets his advice "from a Higher Authority"?

Bush & Co is our country's equivalent of Louis XIV, Henry XIII, Stalin, and Adolf Hitler, though on a lighter scale, thank the Gods! They thought they were "destined" to do God's bidding by attacking non-believers, the unpatriotic, stuffing their wealthy friends' pockets, while letting the poor (Katrina e.g.) drown literally and financially. Just look at our economy.

Human greed was the biggest factor in our current economic mess. Bush & F0x's belief that the "free market" will take care of itself, did not account for that fact that human greed, the drive for profits, self-preservation, is what greases the wheels of capitalism. It needs over-sight, we cannot let short-term corporate interests harm the long-term stability and health of the nation.

Bush is the most ironic, sad, and Shakespearean-level tragic character of all.

This is a guy who reasons that stem-cell research goes against his belief of the "sanctity of life" yet is the behind the most executions in Texas's history while he was governor, including the death of Karla Faye Tucker, whom the Pope appealed directly to Bush to spare. THE POPE. I guess even Bush in his own belief system is closer to God than the Pope even is!

Bush - whatever your belief and definition is of hell, I hope you end up there because of so many American soliders, Katrina victims, Iraqi, Afhganistan, Darfur, other civilians lives that died under your watch and made the lives of their countless families suffer as well.

You're doing a heckuva job, Shrub! Worst president in history? You betcha!

We need normal, financially conservative Republicans back, not the ones who mix financial policies with with religious ones, like the Sarah Palins who think the earth

You sir, are an idiot. What nuances of deep thought can rationalize smoking a cigarette by mindless choice and lack of self-control that will certainly harm your body (therefore not being in charge of your own best interests), but yet pretend to have the judgement to make sweeping life-and-death and health decisions for millions of others? Undoubtedly these are the same nuances that can intentionally cause children that survive an abortion to perish, permit partial birth abortions, and yet save a tree in Utah and prevent our economy from receving the home-grown energy stimulus and independence that we really need. Yep, let's celebrate. Oh, wait - let me stop thinking first. Maybe pragmatism is misguided without a sound ideology.

I don't even need to read this article, to get frustrated that this is coming from NewsWeek. Intellectualism may start with the individual, but is voiced by "Mainstream media", and when intellectualism becomes their first sacrifice in a trying time, I continue to lose respect, and spend less time on sites like this, and more on the "REAL" new voice of America.

According to Idiot Neo-Cons, Obama while campaigning painted himself as a Messiah who can fix everything, so what - like McCain didn't? What a stupid comment by the Neo-Cons - ALL politicians campaigning sell themselves like they can fix everything. Heck, even Palin tried selling herself as a fix-it-all person.

Too bad for McCain that Bush lied to the Hispanics that were hurriedly grouped up and registered as Republicans in 2000 and more so in 2004. If it were not for Bush's empty promises to the Hispanics, McCain would have done far better with this group.

It's great to see the media bias come out front and center. CNN selling Obama t-shirts, reporters and columnists gushing as if they'd found the new messiah. At least the left-wing media is being as overt as the right-wing media showing their bias. Can we ever hope to re-gain objective journalism in this country. I sure hope so, because at the end of the day the media is the worst practitioner of partisanship in America.
