I'm ok with muslims, thought I pity them, because they will burn in hellor is it Sheoll or some thing, Mohammed sealed their fate when he rejected Christ for a Moon God. Paganism at it best, and worst
Islam and Obama
American Muslims overwhelmingly voted Democratic.

this is a very simplistic view
obama has to act to prove if the muslims were right in affirming their faith in america by voting for him ,
if they actually did so
is there any solid evidence as voting is private and confidential -

The election is over - Don't you people have regular jobs that need your attention? Geez, when will all the hot air cease? It's time to get back to our regular world. Whatever Obama is, whoever voted for him - none of that stuff matters anymore. The election is over and all AMERICANS need to stand with their new president - until the next election. This doesn't seem to be a great system for running a huge country, but it's ours, so let's get on with it.

Americans are not responsible for the world. We are only responsible and accountable for the USA. Let me ask you - if your neighbor down the street is late on his car note, do you take your mortgage payment and give it to him??? No, I think not. The American defense budget doesn't have anything to do with money needed for GLOBAL hunger.

As an African Muslim, I'd like to congratulate America and Americans for voting for Obama. Finally, we do not have to look at America as an avowed enemy of any country questioning its hegemony. You have taken a step in the right direction and God willing this will be the beginning of dialogue and discussion among nations, not brute force, intolerance and misguided wars. As it is obvious to all that president Obama has a huge task waiting for him with our financial problems not only as a country but now as a whole it seems like we may be forgetting other issues this world has as well. Global hunger is getting worse and their may be a less difficult way of looking at the problem. The solution may be the Global Poverty Act. This act will be looked at in December. This act is something that Obama has before been an advocate to. The Borgen Project an organization that is working to get this act passed as well. To learn more go to www.borgenproject.org.

I am terribly saddened to see this reaction from Muslim people. I have often counted Muslims as my allies in the struggle against abortion in the United States. I have often thought of them as comrades in the struggle against immorality in general. To see this support for abortion, for the most consistently, brutally pro-abortion candidate ever in the history of the so-called left, is almost devasting. One must be desparate indeed to ignore the teachings of one's faith--for who could possibly argue that Islam supports anything like the democratic party platform on these social issues!--to vote for some one who repeatedly repudiates membership in that faith! Well, I guess I will have to get used to the idea that yes, the majority of the Muslim population is as dumb as the majority of the rest. I am disappointed, though. I had really hoped for better.
-
Posted By: summer4077 @ 11/12/2008 11:51:02 AM
They supported the candidate who didn't make them feel ostracized in their new homeland. Republican supporters continually tried to pin Obama as a Muslim like it was a bad thing. This election was about much much more than just abortion. Abortion probably didn't factor into the majority of voters' minds as the most important issue. It was all about the economy and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. One that votes strictly on abortion is a foolish one indeed. I'll also remind you that McCain believed abortion should be legal in certain cases and that it should be left to the states to decide. Palin was the only one who was staunchly anti-abortion in every single scenario.
-
Posted By: jimbo3800 @ 11/15/2008 4:38:04 PM
Summer, you are making me gag again. They voted for the candidate most likely to appease their wishes and their demands for endless civil rights, claims of discrimination, etc. I'm sure that the Islamo-facist sub-set of the American Muslim population is also thrilled with Obama...and that says it all, doesn't it?
Oh here, I will be politically correct for you and your like-minded minions...the "very small" sub-set of American Muslims that are Islamo-facists. Happy now? -
Posted By: Fayruz @ 11/13/2008 1:43:26 AM
You are correct. As a Muslim (but not an American), I would have voted for the candidate most likely to be sympathetic to civilians suffering in Gaza, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.
I am anti-abortion, but when I read that Sarah Palin was in favour of having rape victims pay for their own kits, I was nauseated beyond words. Where's the compassion?
Viva Obama!-

Ya know funny Jan that you mention Abortion. We've all heard about theh "Bradley effect", what about the "Abortion Effect"...women who lIE and say they are against abortion and then seceretly vote to uphold the law...think about it, a woman gets prego by her lover, her husband has a vasectomy, she take a quick trip down to the clinic, and keeps quite for the rest of her life...there are more than likely a TON of women who know that story too well...think about it, more likely than not. For every one of you who is against CHOICE since nobody is truly "pro-abortion" it's about choices, for every one of you there is at least 3 of them...and that is being very conservative.

Ok, Blackcourt79: I get it. You're just a blowhard who changes the subject from racism to terrorists to the debunked assertion that the democrats caused the financial crisis, and you don't keep your word because you can't back up the propaganda you lifted from an anonymous email or explain the millions given to R lobbyists to lobby against regulation of Fannie and Freddie.... -
Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/10/2008 4:00:57 PM
"Blackcourt79": Explanation: The point apparently escaped you. Sums were given to a junior senator from Illinois because he was seen to be a rising force; that sum pales in comparison to what was spent on R lobbyists to lobby Rs agains regulation, after they had already defeated the regulation was necessary.
That is the answer to your specific question by which you seek to avoid the larger subject that you brought up.
Look at your posting. You mentioned those donations to support your specific statement, a repetition of the diversionary ploy attempted during the election, that the Democrats were to blame.
That statement was in stark contrast to the millions donated to R lobbyists.
You know your own point was clear. Your attempt to avoid doing what you promised to do, is transparent.
Is your word going to be kept? Or are your words to be disregarded because you now realize you made a false repetition of the R propaganda and you cannot explain why so much money was spent by Rs to prevent regulation of Fannie and Freddie?

I said I would explain it as soon as you could explain why a junior senator from Illinois was the 3rd highest on a list of payouts from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac over the last ten years... especially when he was only in the seat for three of those ten years. im offended by the way you talk about other "races" like they arent even human...you do know that "muslims" and "blacks" bleed? and when they bleed its red blood? they have families? emotions? dreams? they eat and sleep and have jobs? many of them are serving in our military? in our government? in our factories? working along side you? you do know that this country would not be able to exist without people of "color" or of another "race"? your anger and agression are ill placed and very much represents how you treat others and how you act as a person. all of which has indicated to me that you are a sad, lonely, frusterated fat man. but, i can send you some twinkies if it will shut you up? i send them priority overnight just for you, a whole case of twinkies and ho hos, and maybe a few zebra cakes if you can learn to bite your tongue a little bit...only if your a good boy...
i really hope you can learn to get past colors and creeds because if you havent noticed, there is so far to our knowledge only one planet (earth, if you didnt learn that in school) in which we live on. and its the only one planet within BILLION AND BILLIONS OF MILES AND LIGHT YEARS OF ANOTHER INHABITABLE PLANET...WE are the HUMAN race, WE all live here, WE all are trying to make our way the same as you. so you get your fat head out of your fat ass and pay attention to whats going on around you in this tiny little planet...because the last thing WE need is more degenerates like YOU... try not to make everything so hard on others and yourself for one day and then we can talk... -

After 911? Let's see...The Olympic bombing in Atlanta, multiple faux-anthrax mailings that happened right up until this year, and multiple attacks on embassies (American soil) this year alone (one of which was stopped by Pakistani police, not weird US policy).
Also, we've thrown away 4000 US servicemen and women for no purpose in Iraq, and that's about a thousand more than we lost on 911, to no purpose.
You were saying?-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 1:32:13 PM
There are millions of free Iraqis who would disagree with you that had no purpose. But I wouldn't expect an uninformed poster like yourself to understand that.
Atlanta was in '98, under Clinton's administration. Anthrax mailings aren't exactly an attack... but if you want to count it as one why don't we go to war with China since they are sending toys to our kids with lead paint on them. As for attacks on embassies I'm not sure which of them is within our borders but I guess I hadn't read about any of them.-
Posted By: summer4077 @ 11/10/2008 1:39:31 PM
Atlanta was in 1996. I do believe that our increased military presence, combined with an actual effort to have a Homeland Security organization when there was none before 9/11 has thwarted some terrorist attacks on American soil. Some of the would-be terrorists were actually American, so I'm not sure we can say it's prevented Muslim attacks, but attacks in general. However, it certainly hasn't reduced terrorism around the world, by far. I couldn't find an article within the past year to sum up all the attacks, but this one shows you the ones just between 2001 and 2005. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2005/jul/07/terrorism.uk1
I'll also remind you that the Iraqi government recently said they want us out of Iraq and want to start governing their own country. Doesn't exactly sound like a people who really loves us being there. -

"Atlanta was in '98, under Clinton's administration. "
Um, is that your final answer? (Please say yes.)-

1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, GA.
Clinton was in office from 1993 to 2001. -
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 1:50:09 PM
Sorry Atlanta was in '96... even further back... so what did it have to do with Bush again?
As for "What part of the President's oath of office states the he will put their interests ahead of ours", being in Iraq wasn't putting their interests ahead of our own. Perhaps you aren't able to wrap your head around this but in order to prevent future terror attacks on our country we removed a tyrant who was allowing them to use his country as a base of operations.-
Posted By: Combat Goldfish @ 11/10/2008 2:02:39 PM
According to bad intell we went into Iraq, remember WMD's? That we never found. We've never confirmed Saddam's involvement with 9/11 or Osama bin Laden.
-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 2:21:59 PM
WMDs... we had the receipts for them... why would we tell everyone... "Hey we found the weapons that we sold to him that he was supposed to use on Iran. Its alright now."
-
Posted By: Kboogie @ 11/10/2008 6:59:55 PM
Hahahaha. Ain't that the truth!!
BUT, that created quite the dilemma. The government would look absolutely foolish if it alerted the public to the reality of the situation.....which was, " we're invading a country b/c they're hiding weapons that they bought from US."
The Bush administration will go down in history as the 2nd most corrupt administration in American history.....the 1st being Reagan/Bush. -
Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/10/2008 2:39:17 PM
So your position is that we DID find them, but we didn't tell anyone?
-
Posted By: Combat Goldfish @ 11/10/2008 2:30:06 PM
You're intelligence information and what actually happened doesn't correspond.
-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 2:33:31 PM
Please explain then since you seem to be so well informed. Perhaps you could provide some evidence. The information I just provided on the WMD is a direct quote from Senator McCain.
-
Posted By: HarleyisHere @ 11/12/2008 12:26:40 PM
I think you meant a "DESPERATE QUOTE" not direct ;) There were NO weapons, Sadam was NOT involved in 9/11, we did not go to Iraq to "liberate them, that EXCUSE was not given until some time in 2005. The terrorists FOLLOWED us from AFGHANISTAN because Bush and McCain did NOT finish what they started there before they ran off for Oil in Iraq, I mean WMDs, I mean to catch Sadam cause he was working with Bin Laden, I mean to liberate the Iraqis....
-
Posted By: Combat Goldfish @ 11/10/2008 2:40:23 PM
LOL
And according to McCain he can "find bin Laden" even though he's never provided assistant to his capture. McCain isn't exactly a good source of information.
"WASHINGTON - In his final word, the CIA???s top weapons inspector in Iraq said Monday that the hunt for weapons of mass destruction has ???gone as far as feasible??? and has found nothing, closing an investigation into the purported programs of Saddam Hussein that were used to justify the 2003 invasion.
???After more than 18 months, the WMD investigation and debriefing of the WMD-related detainees has been exhausted,??? wrote Charles Duelfer, head of the Iraq Survey Group".

"Blackcourt79"; Catch up and get into reality. The propaganda that he was harboring terrorists was debunked a long time ago.-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 2:20:50 PM
Haboring them and allowing them to do as they please within your country is two different things. I never said that Saddam was in cohots with them. But to ignore that the biggest surge of violence in Iraq after we took control was from a group calling themselves al-Qaida in Iraq is simply naive.
-

"Comment: Haboring them and allowing them to do as they please within your country is two different things."
The only terrorists known to have been operating in Iraq were in the no-fly zone in the North that Saddam had no control over. Iam unsure what your point is. -
Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/10/2008 2:27:14 PM
Bush ignoring his experienced military and diplomatic advisers and being duped by the NeoCons, was naive. To continue to buy into it is beyond naive.-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 2:34:47 PM
I don't disagree with you on this last point... but that doesn't change the fact that the countries in that region have been allowing extremists to move about as they have pleased since we were providing funding to them to combat Russia in Afghanistan.

I can't see why people think because they did a poll that it's 100% reflective of the votes Obama received on the 4th. It was a very low number that was polled compared to the millions of votes invested into each party running for office.
Not everyone chooses how they're going to vote based on color or being the same faith. It seems a lot has been focused on since Obama ran is race and faith background. Not his views on key components of how the government should run, what should be changed, or taken away. It's actually pretty distrubing people think this way. -

MINORITIES are parasites,they take,they don't give,THATS why they're DEMOCRATS!
-
Posted By: joe_mama @ 11/11/2008 7:50:51 AM
That's right, minorities don't give anything.....
...except their lives.
Between 1972 and 2000, despite the downsizing of the military, minority enlistment (as percentage of the overall force) increased while Caucasion enlislment decreased.
Although they're only 12-14 percent of the population, African Americans make up about 20% of new recruits (prior service and no prior service)
Recent surveys indicate that minorities and women have the highest job satisfaction rates among those serving in the military.
Any more lies you'd like me to debunk?
Love,
JM

Don't you think you're going a little far with the insults on minorities? Many of them have made very good lives for themselves and many more will. People making comments like this is why they felt the need to vote for Obama because he was a minority rather than voting for the best man for the job.
-
Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/10/2008 12:57:13 PM
They did vote for the best man for the job.
-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 1:09:48 PM
In your uneducated opinion.
-
Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/10/2008 1:15:27 PM
And in the "uneducated" opinion of 65,000,000 other Americans.
What's the matter? You only love democracy when you win? What kind of American are you?-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 1:18:53 PM
When do you mean "when I win?" I wasn't running for office. The reason I am calling your opinion uneducated is based on the lack of any understanding of why you even voted for Obama... other than the fact that he was colored.
-
Posted By: HarleyisHere @ 11/12/2008 12:29:33 PM
No you did not run for office, but you are getting your a$$ handed to you here...lol (not winning)...get the point, I doubt it.
-
Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/10/2008 1:38:47 PM
"The reason I am calling your opinion uneducated is based on the lack of any understanding of why you even voted for Obama"
You never asked. You made an incorrect assumption, based on race.
Ergo, you are a racist, Jethro. QED. -

"When do you mean "when I win?" I wasn't running for office."
Okay, so now you're resorting to semantics.
Thanks for playing. -
Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/10/2008 1:26:16 PM
C'mon Blackcourt79, Do you really think that our shame over and comtempt of racism like yours was more important to us than our appreciation for Obama's intellect? They happen to coexist.-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 1:34:46 PM
I hope that is the case 40yearR... my brother voted for Obama... he was a very strong supporter and it made me proud to see him get involved in politics the way he did this year.
Perhaps my posts have given the wrong impression. Alot of the policies that Obama has discussed look great. My problem is why people are discussing this issue. If 95% of white people in this country voted for McCain we would have the biggest out cry of racism in this countries history. But if 95% of black people vote for Obama its expected and by bringing up the word racism I've made myself a target because I'm a "bigot" or some other derogatory term.-
Posted By: HarleyisHere @ 11/12/2008 12:31:48 PM
You can't compaqre the two, one has been in power from the start of this country and one has been oppressed, not to mention that an equal if not greater number of WHITES voted for McCain just because has was NOT BLACK...you seem to forget that.
-
Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/10/2008 1:44:17 PM
"Blackcourt79": My hunch is that it took many more than blacks to overcome the number of whites who voted against a mixed race person. But regardless, your premise that he was elected because he's a minority certainly seems to me to say more about your views about race than about the reasons of those who voted for him.-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 1:54:46 PM
95% of black people voted for him... and the response I get for bringing it up is that I am racist? Wow. I guess that about sums up it up. Thanks for proving my point. Racism is officially a one way street. Minorities can hate on "whitey" all they want to... but you better not point out how it is directed the other way or you get labeled. At least now I'm clear on the subject *rolls eyes*
-
Posted By: HarleyisHere @ 11/12/2008 12:35:50 PM
I don't think you stand a chance of being clear on anything....ever, but I hope for you. 95% of Black People did NOT vote for Obama, only 95% of REGISTERED BLACK VOTERS, Balcks only make up about 12% of the population of the US, not all of them could vote, kids, felons, too old, too disabled, afraid, so don't try to act like you understand, none of us, who are NOT black, could ever comprehend what it means to the Black community to have had Obama win this election...
-
Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/10/2008 2:04:48 PM
Your premise that he was elected because he's a minority certainly seems to me to say more about your views about race than about the reasons of those who voted for him.-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 2:25:55 PM
Whoa... when did I ever say that he was elected because he's a minority? Please go back and give me even one example where I say anything like that. This topic is about race... I asked what people thought about 95% of black people voting for him.... what that has to say about racism in our country. I never once said anything about it being the reason he was elected. You might want to try actually reading other peoples opinions instead of inserting what you want them to be saying.

In short, you're mad because McCain lost, and you're looking for a reason that isn't "he ran a bad campaign and wasn't the best man for the job".
So you choose to harp on the fact that 95% of Blacks voted for Obama. Well, it isn't Obama's fault that McCain didn't bother even TRYING to get their vote, or the vote of anyone who makes less than a quarter million a year.
Next time, find a better candidate.-
Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/10/2008 1:58:16 PM
Why do you directing this at me? I'm not made that McCain lost. I wasn't running for President or any other office for that matter. I'm not "harping" on the fact that 95% of blacks voted for Obama... I'm asking why nobody is talking about reverse racism.
As for the not going after anyones vote who makes less than $250k this is perhaps the most naive comment I have ever heard anyone make. Do you really believe that they are going to stand idley by while the government digs deeper into their pockets? Do you think its right for someone to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, blood, sweat and tears on establishing a career for themselves only to have to turn around and give a portion of their earnings to someone who refuses to take the initiative in their own life and would rather sit around getting drunk or doing drugs?-
Posted By: HarleyisHere @ 11/12/2008 12:37:15 PM
