Most Muslims do not trust in President Obama.

American Muslims overwhelmingly voted Democratic.
Most Muslims do not trust in President Obama.

Why haven't muslim leaders around the globe spoke out against the murder going on by the the muslim criminal gangs?? Which religion preaches love they neighbor regardless of their religion and which one preaches blow up they neighbor if he doesn't convert? The last USA poll found 70% of the US consider themselves Christian and the majority is supposed to rule in our country!! I would say a non Christian leader in this country will have trouble governing the majority every time! FYI!! In the Christian God we trust! All others pay cash!
``Obsession is not an anti Muslim DVD'' Really ? Then how does one explain the images of Nazis interspersed with Muslims and interviews with renowned Muslim haters like Robert Spencer and Walid Shoebat. The latter, incidentally is a regular on anti Muslim propaganda shows like the Club 700, who was recently exposed as having fabricated his life history.
i agree cowsareme. people have been accusing people for years for believing in a different religion and it should stop now
whatever religon someone wants to believe is true for them. We should not say anyone "will burn in hell" because they dont follow your religon. In fact according to them YOU will probabally burn in hell. So dont judge
Even though I agree that we should not say that somebody is going to burn in hell, what did you mean when you said," whatever religion someone believes is right for them"? Because then if I believe that I have to kill anyone that doesn't agree with my belief, who can tell me that I am wrong? (It's right for me. Right?) So where can that lead?
f
I'm ok with muslims, thought I pity them, because they will burn in hellor is it Sheoll or some thing, Mohammed sealed their fate when he rejected Christ for a Moon God. Paganism at it best, and worst
this is a very simplistic view
obama has to act to prove if the muslims were right in affirming their faith in america by voting for him ,
if they actually did so
is there any solid evidence as voting is private and confidential
Obviously "Doc" is a little girl. 'LOL"??
I am certain she would enjoy living in a Islamic society.
Obviously Ariziowa is an idiot and a bigot.
How typical. Anyone who disagrees with Doctor Deuchebag here is immediatly labeled a racist and a bigot. Typical, left-wing, Saul Alinsky-style nonsense.
i would like to ask a question to all the americans? now u have selected ur new presidents so tell me with ur heart that have u changed ur mind and hearts towars muslims.because a nation is known by his leaders so u hav selected a new leader and i will only say u that plz create a harmoney 2 wards us.
I am terribly saddened to see this reaction from Muslim people. I have often counted Muslims as my allies in the struggle against abortion in the United States. I have often thought of them as comrades in the struggle against immorality in general. To see this support for abortion, for the most consistently, brutally pro-abortion candidate ever in the history of the so-called left, is almost devasting. One must be desparate indeed to ignore the teachings of one's faith--for who could possibly argue that Islam supports anything like the democratic party platform on these social issues!--to vote for some one who repeatedly repudiates membership in that faith! Well, I guess I will have to get used to the idea that yes, the majority of the Muslim population is as dumb as the majority of the rest. I am disappointed, though. I had really hoped for better.
They supported the candidate who didn't make them feel ostracized in their new homeland. Republican supporters continually tried to pin Obama as a Muslim like it was a bad thing. This election was about much much more than just abortion. Abortion probably didn't factor into the majority of voters' minds as the most important issue. It was all about the economy and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. One that votes strictly on abortion is a foolish one indeed. I'll also remind you that McCain believed abortion should be legal in certain cases and that it should be left to the states to decide. Palin was the only one who was staunchly anti-abortion in every single scenario.
You are correct. As a Muslim (but not an American), I would have voted for the candidate most likely to be sympathetic to civilians suffering in Gaza, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.
I am anti-abortion, but when I read that Sarah Palin was in favour of having rape victims pay for their own kits, I was nauseated beyond words. Where's the compassion?
Viva Obama!
You must be somewhere beyond ignorant to believe the quickly de-bunked "rape kit" story. The liberal media was and is terrified of Sara Palin and they set out to destroy her immediatly. The story you reference was complete nonsense and nothing but a hit piece. The fact that you could not discern such an over the top ridiculous story doesn't say much for your IQ, my friend.
"You must be somewhere beyond ignorant to believe the quickly de-bunked "rape kit" story. "
It was debunked? Link?
Summer, you are making me gag again. They voted for the candidate most likely to appease their wishes and their demands for endless civil rights, claims of discrimination, etc. I'm sure that the Islamo-facist sub-set of the American Muslim population is also thrilled with Obama...and that says it all, doesn't it?
Oh here, I will be politically correct for you and your like-minded minions...the "very small" sub-set of American Muslims that are Islamo-facists. Happy now?
Thank you, summer.
Then fix your party. Muslims would be idiots to vote for a party that openly hates them.
As an African Muslim, I'd like to congratulate America and Americans for voting for Obama. Finally, we do not have to look at America as an avowed enemy of any country questioning its hegemony. You have taken a step in the right direction and God willing this will be the beginning of dialogue and discussion among nations, not brute force, intolerance and misguided wars. Peace to my American brothers and sisters!
May the Olive Branch be very fruitful to all we stretch it out to.
Listening to you two is going to make me hurl.
Now the work to restore the country and get rid of the corruption. One last gasp of corruption Paulson won't release names of company who got billions of U S tax dollars.Congress trusted The fed leader. Special investagation should be done, taxs dollar are at issue and nobody gets tax money without oversight.
"...get rid of the corruption."
As a dedicated Obama supported I can safely say that if truly got rid of corruption half our politicians and 90% of our business community would be behind bars.
No I'm not proud of it, but, c'mon.....they're all dirty. I don't believe Obama will abuse his power, but I'm also not so naive to think that 230 some odd years of Washington culture will disappear overnight (or ever, for that matter).
JM
And I'll bet that you think profit is "evil", don't you? And the fact that one person makes more than another, even if their job is more difficult or they work more hours is "unfair", huh?
You socialist Obama supporters are so tiresome.
For those who still believe Obama is a Muslim, wake up please! He is not Muslim.
However, he attended a church for 20 years that teaches Black Liberation Theology.....and if you do your research, you will be wishing he was a Muslim instead....lol
Wait. You don't believe Blacks should have been liberated?
LOL.
"The Borgen Project has some good info on the cost of addressing global poverty.
$30 billion: Annual shortfall to end world hunger.
$540 billion: Annual U.S. Defense Budget."
Americans are not responsible for the world. We are only responsible and accountable for the USA. Let me ask you - if your neighbor down the street is late on his car note, do you take your mortgage payment and give it to him??? No, I think not. The American defense budget doesn't have anything to do with money needed for GLOBAL hunger.
The election is over - Don't you people have regular jobs that need your attention? Geez, when will all the hot air cease? It's time to get back to our regular world. Whatever Obama is, whoever voted for him - none of that stuff matters anymore. The election is over and all AMERICANS need to stand with their new president - until the next election. This doesn't seem to be a great system for running a huge country, but it's ours, so let's get on with it.
I am not concerned we lost an election. I am concerned that we gave away the American freedoms our families fought and died for through the years. God bless America, she was so very wonderful to us, now we are without a country, her people gave her away.
Why? Because we voted a Black guy in?
It must be frightening in there. What's your plan?
they voted for one of their own, a muslim extremist doctrine follower as one would expect. Now they can sit back and they will be handed the country by their new leader. When the " well armed, and trained civilian security force" has free reign at controlling the population. Can't happen?? That what they said in Germany.
"If We Don't Learn Our History, We're Doomed to Repeat It "
Go scare some sheep.
Please cite one source, other than the anonymous emails and blogs circulated by the republican propaganda machine, that says Obama is "a muslim extremist doctrine follower'. One must have a factual basis for one's fears. Otherwise...
I was wondering the same thing, but just couldn't stop laughing long enough to ask for the reference.
LOL!!!!
Considering that the right wing groups of America look down on anyone of the Islam faith and try to brand them all as "Anti America" or "Terrorist", I'm not surprised that many of them would want to see change in teh Whitehouse.
It's always us that are at fault, isn't it. It makes no difference whose in power here. They had a "left wing friend" in the White House while terrorists bombed our embassies, the WTC the first time, the USS Cole, and when they planned and began implementing 9/11. Either way, few of the Islamic faith seem to have ever denounced terrorism, all performed in the name of Islam. Maybe when the religion takes a more proactive approach to addressing this issue, they may be better looked upon by the rest of the world.
You are very mistaken.
MOST of the ISLAM faith denounce terrorism. Just because Fox doesn't reeport it doesn't mean anything.
I have met many Islamic people and never have I met any that encourage terrorism or any type of violence.
Why do you harp on Islam, but not Christianity? Many so called Christian leaders have done vile things, while the churches turned a blind eye to it. Many wars have been fought while the church blessed the soldiers.
Why blame all for what one small group has done? That just spreads hate.
The Christians did not fly 757 airliners into the World Trade Center killing over 3000 people in the name of Christianity. Had they done that, the Christians, as well as the rest of the world, would be enraged.
The Muslims did not murdered 6 millions of Jews in the name of Allah. Had they done that, the Muslims, as well as the rest of the world, would be enraged.
The Muslims did not dropped atomic bombs on Japan and murdered one million of Japs in the name of Allah. Had they done that, the Muslims, as well as the rest of the world, would be enraged.
Stop right there. Hitler decided an entire race of human beings should be exterminated, and then got his ass kicked. It had nothing to do with Christians. The Japanese wrote a check with there mouth that their ass couldn't cover by attacking Pearl. Had the Emperor of Japan not done that, Hiroshima and Nagasaki wouldn't have been hit. It had nothing to do with Christians. Get your history straight.
You stop right there. A group of extremists decided to attack the US on 911, their actions had nothing to do with Islam. Hehehe..... What else do you have to say? I am sure you will come up with more lame excuses for your false justifications of the Iraq invasion.
Visitor... their actions had everything to do do with the attack on 9/1l... it was in the name of Islam.
And Iraq had or has nothing to do with Christianity.
So just because a few twist the words of Islam and use it for their disgusting purpose, you paint MILLIONS with the same brush? That is sad.
It is no different than the few who twist the words of Christianity to suit their own disgusting purposes. Are ALL Catholics child molestors? Are all christians invoolved with the KKK? Should we treat them ALL with the same disrespect because a few are in the wrong?
Or should we focus on the guilty ones, punish them and accept the honest, innocent ones for what they are - good people, just like you and me?
Fact is many denounced the attacks in the name of Islam. They were ashamed that someone "proposing" to be of their faith had done. Just like my Cathoic grandmother was ashamed by what so many priests had done.
I never said that. The problem with Islam is that, with 1.5 billion of Muslims, they cannot or will not collectively denounce terrorism. I promise you if 9/11 was at the hands of Christians, the world would be demanding it.
Many have tried, but their letters are not published in mainstream media. My letters denouncing these acts were rejected/not published. Fox and Murdoch are pro-Bush, so no surprise, really. Anything that doesn't feed into their cherished myths about American, Islam, etc. is not worth printing. Thank God Dahr Jamail, John Pilger, Robert Fisk etc. are out there telling the truth. Don't bother with mainstrain media - you won't see fair reporting.

Stop spinning what I said into what you want. I didn't "paint" millions with the same brush because of what a few have done. My point is that, in this day and time, it seems that 1.5 billion Muslims would take more of a collective stand against terrorism, as their barbaric acts are all done in the name of Islam. They do not.
It doesn't surprise me, and it would not you either if you read the Quran.
You are absolutely right. Most Muslims DO denounce terrorism. That's most muslims WORLDWIDE. It's just that the Muslims BORN IN THE US who can't make up their minds... because they're so cut off from their "home" (native) cultures and just really have no clue who they are.. or want to be.
You seem to have some underlying issues with "Muslims BORN IN THE US". Get over it!
I've actually heard many followers of Islam express their feelings against terrorism - on local TV as well as CNN. Maybe you're watching to much Fox news who loves to stir up hate and intolerence. Furthermore - I'm a Christian but you won't hear me apologize for the KKK and other white supremecy groups that spread hate through their "brand " of Christian beliefs. They simply don't share my beliefs - so why should I apologize for them? How's that different than followers of Islam? I'm sure they feel these "extremists" don't represent them. We need to be a country that embraces our differences - like we were before Bush and 9/11 - and like our fonding Fathers intended!
Right... as if the terrorists don't "spread their hate" in the name of Isalm.
I saw something very different.... Muslims dancing in the streets rejoicing after 9/11, but you probably won't recall that. And who in the hell said anything about apologizing for them? As I said in my post, we were disliked long before Bush, or even Carter. Clinton couldn't have been more accommodating and passive, and we were getting hit on a regular basis by terrorists... all in the name of Isalm. I've read the Quran, they are very intolerant of anyone who isn't Muslim.
This isn't new ideology... the Quran was written around 750 AD, so it has made little difference who is in power here.
I actually do recall that. I was a freshman in college and those images were on foxnews of dancing palestinian children. but it was stock footage from a previous protest. that was before I knew foxnews clearly had an agenda. while most of my dorm mates were looking for the closest arab to assault, I had to draw their attention to that fact at the top of the screen. Your are right though that some islamic nations are intolerant of other religions. but it is a personal bias much like yours, and not because of what the koran preaches. I took several islam course after 9/11 to understand the motivation behind the event. and found that the religion itself is tolerant. here are some verses that were recently featured on the economist website.
From the Koran.
first, ???Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion???; second, ???Whosoever will, let him believe, and whosoever will, let him disbelieve???; and, most famously, ???There is no compulsion in religion.???
As was said by other posters, the motivation behind 9/11 was us foreign policy in the middle east. and it was consisted between all the presidents you mentioned. bin laden's goal was to stretch us forces, and have us bogged down in the middle east until we were bankrupt. The same formula as the USSR invasion of Afghanistan. Plus it was great for recruiting. Now though, It'll be a lot harder to recruit forces against an "evil" America that elected a minority with the middle name "Hussain." so Foxnew's highlight of the name is a double edge sword that will undermine bin laden...How Ironic? But this of course is dependent on if Obama continues the same middle east policy as the past 4 presidents. I'm not making any predictions, because he isn't nearly as radical as he's been portrayed for the past 2 years. Sorry liberals.
Thank you for this post. I am so glad to fnally see that someone knows why we were attacked on 9/11. The Bush administration just helped out Bin Laden by going into Iraq and our current financial crisis is all the proof that he needs that his plan is working and therefore God must agree with his tactics.
War is profitable. Just ask Cheny [Hallibuton].
Yet another apologist that thinks we deserved 9/11. Did you think we deserved it the first time the WTC was attacked under Clinton... a democrat?
Get it through your head, Ohiogirl!!! You can apologize til doomsday for whatever you think we did to them, and they will still want to cut your throat!
You like to meddle in other countries' internal affairs. Fine, you shall be killed or slaughtered like goats when you step into our soil. Hehehe.......... Keep coming, suckers. God willing, we will kill off all of you invaders.
And.... where are you from, "friend?"
Stock footage? Please.
American followers of Islam are so far removed from Islam that they will express their feelings in accordance with whoever is paying their check. While in America they will condone terrorism, while in Pakistan/Afghanistan/Syria/etc.. they will openly support it. These people claim to be simple loving human people who want to live good clean pure lives on the lines of the Amish. They are a disgrace to the Amish-clone image.
Quote: "We need to be a country that embraces our differences - like we were before Bush and 9/11."
You mean like we were when the World Trade Center was bombed the first time?
You know a lot of Christians who go out of their way to publicly denounce abortion-clinic bombings and the "God Kills Fags" guy?
There are about a billion Muslims in the world. Maybe a few hundred were involved in all the incidents you mention... but make it a thousand... would you care to be categorized by the worst conduct of the most lunatic 0.0001% of Christians in the world? Buddy, in the last 50 or 60 years, "we" have killed far, far more of "them" than "they" have killed of "us"...and with far less moral justification (read up on the 1953 coup our CIA helped cook up in Iran so we could continue to control their oil, and the 25-year bloody reign of the Shah that followed... or the details of how the House of Saud CAME to be in power in Arabia...or how it was that, even before Europeans began murdered 6 million European Jews during WW2, the UK contrived for political advantage during WW1 by giving European Jews a "national home" on Arab lands, making promises to the Arabs, which would not be kept, at the same time).
Its about time Americans recognized that our government, acting in our name, has given Arabs and Muslims enormous provocation over the years. We should not be surprised that a tiny minority of them have hit back.
Where did "we" kill more of them? Obviously, you think we provoked them, and therefore think all of this is our fault and we were deserving of 9/11. Tell that to the families of the murdered victims, some of them Muslim!
Having read their ideology, which dates back to 725 AD, I disagree. That said, please.... tell me, what do you think will make them happy? Bear in mind that one of your own party, Clinton, tried desperately to "appease" them! The results of that were, shall I say, less than stellar?
I never thought much of or sympathized deeply with Islam, in the past. As religions go, its certainly not the worst the world has ever seen... even the MOST hostile critic of Islam couldn't reasonably compare it to Meso-American pre-Columbian religious culture and practice, and there was a time when Islam carried the banner of scientific enlightenment and social justice in the world... but I detest coercive dogma...teachings that give people of any religion license to impose their beliefs on others, or to employ threats or violence to compel or to forbid specific religious conduct by others. I don't like it when Christians, or anyone else does this, either, but Islam, and Sharia, seem especially given to this sort of thing...laws against proselytizing or converting, for example, sometimes punished by very harsh measures, even execution.
Then came 9/11, "Homeland Security", Afghanistan, Bush's invasion of Iraq, and the storm of ethnic slurs and plain slander directed against Arabs in particular, and Muslims in general. It seems one thing to disapprove of a religion because of disagreement with its philosophy, and quite another thing to treat people with contempt, not based upon anything they have done, individually or collectively, but only because they subscribe to that religion. Very quickly, after 9/11, I found myself becoming angry about the false claims and the purely racist invective directed at Arabs and Muslims...and often misdirected, in particular and spectacular ignorance, at people (like practising Sikhs) who weren't even Arab OR Muslim.
At this point, I can understand why American Muslims changed their political allegiance from the Republican Party to the Democrats in this last election (I did, too, probably for some of the same reasons), and also why many (wisely) chose to keep their feelings to themselves. I am grateful for the election of Barrack Obama, and very hopeful that his election is both a step for America climbing out of the pit of racism, and a sign of the progress we have already made. This may be an opportunity for the US to build a bridge to SOMEWHERE, like across the chasm of suspicion and fear the Bush government excavated to divide us from Muslims around the world... a little understanding and effort at conciliation will cost everyone far less, in blood and treasure, than what we've been doing.
Well said, Iconoblaster. And incidentally, when someone converts to Islam (as I did), they have to state unequivocally, before witnesses, that they are converting of their own free will, not being forced to do so. I don't think many people know this as there are a lot of so-called religious Muslims trying to convert people "by the sword", so to speak. This is NOT the way it's supposed to be! Read "The Great Theft: Wrestling Islam from the Extremists" by Khaled M. Abou El Fadl. You'll get the full picture of the crisis within the Islamic world.
Iconoblaster, this is by far the most eloquently put piece of commentary I've seen on this thread. I hope the role of the new government is to stay out of meddling with individuals' personal choices in faith and values..........and focus on educating the next generation on culture, diversity, and tolerance.
