..... and this is a surprise why? His name, the war, I could've called this one, and I'm an idiot!

      His name?

wow. You are very narrow minded. You're unfair judging of them and the similar treatment they get from most republicans was probably the most influential part of their decision

No big surprise, just read the post here. Conservative Repuglicans are nasty hateful bigoted evangelical wingnuts. They hate Muslims, and minorities, and anyone who is not a white evangelical. Most Muslims are good decent kind people, just like most Christians. Unfortunately there is a minority of fundamentalist Wahhabi Muslims and a minority of Evangelical Christians who are responsible for the death and violence and murder that is blamed on the true believers and not just their sick cult.

It's amazing how much fear mongering of Islam the GOP and its supporters have encouraged over the past 8 years. Hopefully we'll once again be reminded that our nation was founded on a principle of freedom of religion and it does us a huge disservice to marginalize American citizens based on their belief. I have no fear that our nation will become an islamist state, just as I don't fear our country will become a christian or jewish state. I does us no good to fear our fellow citizen. So instead of acting on implicit fears, engage and ask your fellow citizen about their religion. You'd be surprised what you learn.
    1. All acts of terrorism targeting civilians are haram (forbidden) in Islam.
    2. It is haram for a Muslim to cooperate with any individual or group that is involved in any act of terrorism or violence.
    3. It is the civic and religious duty of Muslims to cooperate with law enforcement authorities to protect the lives of all civilians.

bmd, it would be good for some of us to take a break from eating with the rate of obesity we have, but Ramadhan supposed to teach self control and we call it fasting. They all eat before the sun comes up and after the sun goes down....

Wait till they are a significant minority - dear old luis Farrakhan's rants will sound like a diplomat. Have any of you folks lived in a muslim country - Heaven help you if you are caught eating during Ramadhan

On a loooong list of mistakes made by the GOP, add demonizing the religion of Islam to it.

The bigotry of the Republican Party never ceases to amaze. To ignore the HUGE voting block of peaceful Muslims who vote in the United States is incomprehensible. No wonder GOP leaders were tripping over themselves to get away from the McCain/Palin trainwreck. What a circus this was!!
