Obama will fix everything by taxing us into prosperity. The world's rich and producers will flock to America to pay our higher corporate income taxes and our immense income tax rates. Everyone will love America again because we are going to cut the military budget 25% in the first year making overseas bases not financially viable and our ugly babykilling Military will finally be put in its place!! Gobama!

While Obama is in a holding pattern, the Bush Administration is pillaging America transferring as much wealth as possible to Wall Street.

I hope you ignorant republicans who elected Bush for his second term are happy because you share direct responsibility in the current financial meltdown.

I' am certain however you will try to pass the blame elsewhere.

Sorry, it wont wash. Bushes second term and the republicans are what got us here. Period.

I agree and I am also pissed that VMI beat Kentucky last week in basketball. You can't tell me Bush didn't have something to do with that! I mean VMI is a military school!!

Passing the buck will not cut it. Even leftwingers [DAILY KOS,MOTHER JONES,AMERICAN PROSPECT,MOVEON,TRUTHOUT,DEMOCRATICUNDERGROUND] are horrified at Obamas economic picks of Robert Rubin and Jim Lynch, the destroyers of the GLASS-STEAGALL Act,which brought about a huge portion of this current trouble. Then too,why would an agent of ''change''cram into his administration a posse of FANNIE MAE hacks who were also responsible for the meltdown including his own Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel?[ and yes,yet another Tony Rezko crony, this one in the person of Valerie Jarrett]. You forget a rather basic, rather factual point. The only ones who contested this bailout with any cohesion were Republicans. Particularly those in the House. Yet your leaders were saying all along from Day One that the bailout must go through. Even as it was to be cut up among Wall St. banks and lending institutions.[let alone union hacks in Detroit].

    Political Two Party Realities:

There are totally valid Republican philosophies: i.e., the least amount of government is the best government; and government should only do what the people can???t do for themselves. Inherent in those philosophies are many important responsibilities which history tells us the Democrats are better at meeting: i.e., protecting the vulnerable majority against exploitation by the powerful few; and insuring fair and equitable opportunity for all.

Obvious responsibilities include: National Defense, Law Enforcement, Education, Social Security, Medicare, Homeland Security,,,
Currently neglected responsibilities: Infrastructure, Transportation, Global Warming, Energy, Fiscal Responsibility, Medical Costs, Responsible use of Military, Necessary Regulation and Control of Financial Industry, Needed Limits and Enforcement in Politics,,,

The Bush admin is a vivid example of an irresponsible and self-serving government with their total focus on benefit for Special Interests and a select few (who return both overt and covert support, political contributions and even promised compensation for after leaving office) while giving only apathy, the costs and an abundance of subterfuge to the average American.

Both parties are really capable of doing better and the voters need to demand that they do, without accepting their deceptive rhetoric aimed at manipulating public opinion through individual interests!

Please tell me that the GOP party of hate has someone left besides an imbecile named Lee the idiot Holmes to stand up for it. If this is all they've got , it's game, set, match!

While I don't share a lot of views with Lee, he is at least on the blog and provides more than one liners. He doesn't stick his head in like some of these people on here and say some really outlandishly ignorant thing and disappear.

I am not defending his views here, he can do that. I am just defending his right to have them. He is part of the discussion, and generally does not go to personal attacks.

If he wasn't here we would not have anything to discuss, because many of the kookie people that throw a rock at your from a distance and disapear provide no meat for discussion, they are not reaslly relevent.

I???ve been reading about this Obama/Biden Transition Project,??? it is a 501(c)4 tax-exempt organization, with no limits on the contributions it can receive and no requirements to divulge the names of individuals or organizations that give it money. They have stated that it will remain throughout Obamas term. This will be a huge sum of unregulated money to fund groups like ACORN. There are also many who helped Obama???s campaign that won???t be able to pass security clearances whom they will pay out of this fund. There will be billions coming in from foreign governments, drug cartels and people like George Soros. A 501(c)4 may be legal but it certainly isn???t ethical.

"A 501(c)4 may be legal but it certainly isn???t ethical."

How is it not ethical? And why didn't "legal but not ethical" concern you with regard to Palin?

um, onlycure-truth.......You're so lost, you're on the wrong article. This article isn't about banking. Go cut and paste somewhere else.

  • Posted By: OnlyCure=Truth @ 11/13/2008 3:14:56 AM

???Only banks can loan money they don???t have and charge interest for it. Because the elite who own
the banks made it a policy that the bank can loan 10 dollars for every 1 it actually has.
That is what created the current financial mess or as they say problem with liquidity.
They created the problem by loaning money they did not even have to loan.
Dishonest usury is what it is.

Full disclosure of banking policies would be nice lets have it all put on the table for every one to
see just how corrupt they are taking food and housing from people who work hard while they sit
in there penthouses reading about bank bailout's. No don???t feel sorry for them feel sorry for the
people who are being crushed under there feet from the dishonest usury.

Most people had to give a down payment before 2004 for a home and if you where considered
risky you had to give a bigger down payment.
    For example
on a loan of 180,000 with medium to low risk you would fork out 7000.00 to buy a home.

Now what does that translate into for the bank.
The banks can loan 10 dollars for every 1 dollar they have and charge interest for the loan.
win - win for the bank
1 = 10 for them right off plus interest
    7000 = 70,0000 plus interest
then you have a payment of 750.00 or so with interest on the loan
750.00 = 7500.00 plus interest per month as you pay in for them
1 year of payments = 90,000 plus interest for them to loan to others.
so if you put 7000.00 down and finance 180,000.00 they get repaid in one year with a payment of
    750.00
Sounds strange but remember 1 dollar is as good as ten to them for every dollar they take in they
    can loan 10
So don???t feel sorry for them and bail them out. Bail out the public who just keeps paying not
    knowing any better.

If you paid a down payment on your house and then you paid on it for even a year you paid it off
in the banks books. 30+ times over if you paid for 30 years.

After the first year they use your money to pay there salaries of 22 million for 22 days on the job what a joke.

Obama,if we can believe HAMAS,is already ''embroiling''himself in the Palestinian/Israeli mess.

Three things immediately raise themselves as a hindrance, offering no better luck than Bush had, perhaps even worse.

    1. HAMAS spokesman Ahmed Yousuf admits to Londons AL-HAYET Islamic newspaper on Monday that the Obama team has been ''meeting with HAMAS for months''leading up to the election. This represents a departure from Obamas promise that he would not consider negotiating with this terrorist organization.

    2. Tying in to No.1,Obama again goes back on a campaign pledge that he would not utilize the services of Robert Malley,in May,then thought to be a person of some possible position within an Obama administration, which caused worry among American Jewish circles in Florida and other battlegrounds based upon Malleys position during the Clinton presidency and for years afterwards while serving for George Soros that were and still are, percieved to be pro-HAMAS and pro-Arafat. [his own writings confirm this]. Clinton himself accused Malley of revisionism in his role in the Camp David Accords, which was ultimately wrecked by the Second Intifada in 2000. On May 9,2008, Obama stated that there will ''be no role in the future''for Malley.
Malley was again named Obamas chief Middle East adviser and flew to engage in diplomatic overtures two weeks prior to the election that went unmentioned by the MSM that have already included talks with HAMAS, according to AL-HAYET, thus breaking not one,but two main Obama foreign policy platform promises. It remains astonishing that NEWSWEAK has not bothered to confirm these events. Malley next meets with the gangster Assad regime in Damascus,[which is currently sending arms to Lebanon in open violation of a UN resolution that was supposed to ''end''the 2006 Summer War ], and then goes to Egypt.

    3. Bidens comments. While Joe is a routine big mouth who can normally seen chewing on shoe leather, for the Israelis, even his Iranian comments were beyond the pale, when the Jerusalem Post,HA'ARETZ,and Israel Army Radio all nailed Biden for telling senior Israeli officials that they ''would have to reconcile themselves with a nuclear-armed Iran''. Of course Obama immediately denied that Biden had said any such thing...But then he also denied that he would ever again retain the services of Malley. Pitifully,[for NEWSWEAK and other American news services],we must look to foreign sources to provide news.

Since Malleys meetings were also covered by MIDDLE EAST NEWS, AL-ARABIYA,and AL-JAZEERA. [all for Nov.05,2008].

        Thats how.

You have been unwilling or unable to adress this Malley controversy. America was willing to take Obama as a ''credible source''when he flatly and publically stated that he would no longer use Malley in any capacity.

You haven't proven there IS a controversy. Everything is "unmentioned by the MSM".

So far, I'm only inclined to recomment moe tinfoil for your hat. Now, if you can come up with a source that isn't a right wing blog or Hamas doing a little attention-whoring, I might become more interested.

Uhh,Doc. Obama did not fire Malley because everything was A-OK. He did it due to the [London Times,May 10,2008],''controversy'' Malley generated by meeting with HAMAS when Obama had already made plain in the Charlotte SC debates as well as his campaign appearences in Florida that he would not meet with HAMAS,considered a terrorist organization by the US. What is it about this strange move by Obama that you refuse to grasp? People fired one day reappear to meet with a coterie of assorted Middle Eastern terror-sponsoring thugs.[Malley is meeting with Syrias Assad. The same Assad that said that there was no move on his portion to develop nuclear weapons in the same Syria that the IAEA has found concrete ,irrefutable evidence of processed uranium, at a suspected plant that was bombed by the IDF,not that this would ever appear in NEWSWEAK]. ''Lobbyists''that are supposed to be no portion of an Obama presidency are packing in his administration, with a former FANNIE MAE lobbyist leading the way.[yet you base hypocrites were wailing to the roof when McCain inserted as an adviser,a person who had also lobbied on FANNIE MAES behalf].

As it is obvious to all that president Obama has a huge task waiting for him with our financial problems not only as a country but now as a whole it seems like we may be forgetting other issues this world has as well. Global hunger is getting worse and their may be a less difficult way of looking at the problem. The solution may be the Global Poverty Act. This act will be looked at in December. This act is something that Obama has before been an advocate to. The Borgen Project an organization that is working to get this act passed as well. To learn more go to www.borgenproject.org.

Who but Fox News and a few dozen purveyors of Hate on radio would have an audience so ignorant that they couldn't see the difference in President Obama, a man of the people and Senator McCain a nasty old clone of the Republican bottom feeders.

Here was a typical interview with a GOP pundit. Do you think Obama is a Socialist? Answer No! Do you think Obama associates with Terrorist? Answer No! Do you think Obama is a Muslim? answer No!

Do you think it's fair to bring those issues up in negative Ads? YES! That really says it all for the Republican Party of Hate. Hate defines the Republican, it's what they are!

It is now more than ''someone''. In less than 24 hours,in Michigan at an LDS,Church, person or persons now sought by the police for a ''possible hate crime'' threw a burning bible at the front of the church along with what appears to be an ammo clip bearing rifle shells. In Utah, and the LDS HQ of ''Temple Square'', the FBI is looking at envelopes containing a ''white powder'' that were sent to the Mormons. In California,an eighty-year old woman had a cross violently knocked out of her hands which was then stomped on during a Prop.8 protest.

It appears that ''hate''is a universal problem not confined to ''Republicans'' alone, does it not?

It's just that the mainstream media you mention is in cahoots with all the rest of those SOBs that infect the entirety of the MSM, and they all got together to conceal that they have a photo of the party registration of that republican, so they can continue their distortion of the news in their ongoing effort to destroy all liberals...

If you could remove your head from ole rushbo's butt for a few seconds, I'll explain to you why your Republican Party of Hate lost and will suffer worse defeat in 2012.

President Obama tfended off the feeble lies and distortions launched by your puppeteers, Hannity, Morris, Matelin, Delay, Robertson, Babe Buchanan, McCain and Palin and "carpet bombed" you with a weapon unfamilar to you. The truth. This is something Gore and Kerry failed to do. When Obama got in your face, you did what all cowards do, withered and died. In 2012 a repeat of 2008 is inevitable because your leaders will convince you that it wasn't the hate it was the candidate, it was the VP choice or it was the financial meltdown. After the party of hate loses more Senate and House seats, what's left of the GOP will be relegated to third party status.

If you have deserted by 2012, prepare to have your butt handed to you again.

It wasn't the media, sorry. They fact is that Obama ran a much more respectable campain and it showed. McCain's campaign degraded to a spectacle, so did the media generate that?

Unfortunatly for McCain he was running for president under a party that he disagreed with on some key issues in the past. He was stuck between his values and honor and running a scortched earth campaign.

So yes, Obama did fare better with the media, but Obama did because of his campaign, that it was more respectable.

      • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 11/12/2008 3:09:17 PM

Yes. In point of fact,[The ANNENBERGS ''FACTCHECK''], the media all by itself generated several instances designed to become ''spectacle''.

ROLLING STONE and its totally revisionist lies about McCains service while on USS FORRESTAL that included a physical impossibility .[lighting up a missle on the craft behind McCains when McCains jet exhaust faced the sea,and ''wet-starting''a supersonic aircraft which is impossible]

The New York Times,CNN,and The Washington Post [The Post and CNN delivered retractions, the Times did not],on the Palin ''book-banning list''that was an invention of the leftwinged blogosphere and thus was never even minutely vetted by allegedly ''hard-news''organizations.

CNN,which claimed that Palin ''decreased''[Campbell Brown and Anderson Cooper], funding to special education/needs children when FACTCHECK observed that she actually increased it.

CNN,MSNBC,The Washington Post, and the New York Times that blamed Palin for ''charging for rape kits''when FACTCHECK again observed that it was not in her capacity as then-Mayor of Wasilla that she had any authority or responsibility to either set price,or not charge at all. This was a state function. Not a municipal one. [All except MSNBC and the Times included later retractions].

The New York Times, which claimed that Palin and not her husband ,was an actual member of the AIP.[no retraction submitted by the Times].

MSNBC and the Washington Post, which called McCain in ''error''[ Olbermann called him ''constitutionally ignorant''],in McCains urging president Bush to fire FEC Chairman Cox. It was later pointed out to both news services by constitutional law professors at HARVARD,GEORGE WASHINGTON and PRINCETON ,that the president does indeed have this authority as originated in a 1950 E.O. signed by President Harry S.Truman [the Post retracted, MSNBC,and its constitutionally ignorant Keith Olbermann, did not].

''Faux'' or ''Fixed'' News....But FOX is not included in these examples of journalistic departures from the truth[which has caused American trust in these services to drop to an all-time low[PEW Center for People and the Press Poll,Oct.24,2008],that were deliberately designed to ''generate spectacle''.

Do not be so obtuse. You will find that none of the sources mentioned above is partisan. None belong to a ''FOX''. NEWSWEAK itself relied upon their factchecking all during the campaign. Attacking messengers is a dullwitted exercise in futility,as it does not refute that which is posited.[which it cannot anyway as even the above news sources, most of them at least, later admitted their errors]. You would be wise to do the same.

Again, a lot of crap was propogated by the media. But they did not win the election for Obama, he won it, and the McCain campaign helped him along with some really bad timing and decisions that cast doubt in the minds of independent voters.

The media did not do that. Give Obama some credit too. He ran against and beat Clinton, the Rove tactics, and a sht load of really low tactics. That community organizer's campaign wil be emulated by others, he raised teh bar, and everybodyin the business knows that.

              • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 11/12/2008 7:19:31 PM

Obamas win is besides the point. This is a area of reality [even if ''change''is a more elusive thing]. The problem now [only informationally speaking, and leaving the economy and foreign /domestic policy alone for the moment], is that the press will not stop in peddling their ''crap''. This is a huge disservice to the American people at a time when fact, and not in printing garbage peddled by the partisan blogosphere,is most needed. Take for instance this, provided by LEXIS-NEXXIS,over a one week cycle.

128 story-lines in the American press on Bushs dog biting a REUTERS reporter.

0 story -lines on improvements in Chinas ballistic submarine fleet and its expansion into the Pacific.

1 story-line [REUTERS European office] on Russias naval rebuilding that will include nuclear submarines.

The above NEWSWEAK knucklehead is telling Obama to ''relax''[after waxing hysteric a few years ago that we Were Going To War With Iran]. We do not have this luxury, and neither does Obama.

I do not find cute animal stories newsworthy at all. In fact, that is one reason why I cannot stomach local news channels. I don't want my newspeople shouting out 'good morning!', it is so annoying that I want to chew my hand off. You won't get many arguements from me about the media.

Unfortunetly the tabloid garbage sells in this country (makes me puke), and the line between tabloid news and conventional news is a very blurry line.

I am not one to give accolades to the media too often. For the most part they regurgitate stories, and really missed the real story so many times it will make your head sping completely off. Investigative reporting is an art and science that has been overshadowed by soundbites, and sensationalistic regurgitations of the sht that was fed throughout the news cycle.

I voted against Palin because of her close "association" with a radical who has consorted with other radicals in the Alaska independence party who want to tear apart this grand Union....Oh, and why doesn't Palin share with us the certification that her witches and demons have actually been removed?....WHAT IS SHE HIDING!!!!

          • Posted By: whatisreal? @ 11/12/2008 8:02:01 PM

I had to get out of the tit-for-tat. Glass houses, stones, it is all very redundent and just proves fruitless to use the same logic. Palin was way in over her head, it was a desperate choice. But look at the bright side, we got to see the most entertaining and ludicrous presidential campaign in our generation. We got Joe the Plumber, how could we have ever done without that? There is some substantial comedy built into this tragedy. And after a really bad time for this country we can hopefully hope that we can burn the page.

Ya, the media are wrong all the time. They pushed along all of the Obama crap as well. It is not just one-sided. The media is always looking for spectacle. Objectivity is lacking in just about everything you read.

Bottom line, the media was not responsible for McCain losing, it was their campaign and the campaign of Obama. Somebody one, and somebody lost, and people voted for their candidate, or the lesser of two evils as they saw it. It really is not that hard to see what happened...

I recently retired after spending a lifetime teaching school in south Los Angeles. I've sort of adopted Obama as one of my honorary former students because he embodies many of the ideals that I attempted to teach my students. One of my former students, a candidate for graduate school, sent me an email calling Obama Barack O'BALLA.
Actually that's not a bad nickname. Let's examine our Arch-Enemy, Iran as an example Obama is in control of the ball. He's got a leading score (Among the young in Iran, he's probably more popular than the mullahs) , time clock is running out (Iran's elections are slated for June 2009), and he's got control of the ball. What would any serious "balla" do?
Obama has proven to be wise, prudent, and cautious. He has refused to take any foreign policiy initiative now because he firmly believes there's only one president at a time. He seeks consensus rather than division. This will serve him well in the field of foreign policy. Obama may well follow many of the recommendations listed here.

Let???s look at the reality we all know and just use some common sense. We are currently hearing, without any apology or acceptance of guilt, many Republicans saying that the Republican Party simply got away from the basics and they now need to get back to the basic principals of: low taxes; small government; and freedom without government interference. Well we have seen much of that pushed through over the last eight years, with the total stubborn support and backing of the Republican Party by the way, and we now have seen the drastic results and the harm done especially to the middle-class, which then really impacts the total economy. Also I don???t really think many people actually want an excessively large government, with a lot of interference and implementing an aggressive tax and spend mentality. To keep things in perspective, no previous administration has ever spent as much, including more on pork-barrel spending, then the Bush admin and McCain???s proposals were literally expected to cost more than what Obama has proposed. And relating to the Republican basic principals, there really can???t be many left who don???t understand that we really do desperately need some government regulation, enforcement and control (interference) and some necessary government spending to avoid total deterioration of infrastructure and on programs aimed at progress (energy independence, Global Warming, jobs retention and development, education,,,) demanding a government of a size at least adequate to accomplish all of that.

The GOP didn't lose because they lost their way. They lost because we, for the first time since Bill Clinton, had a candidate that could fend off an attack and return fire tenfold! Gore and Kerry didn't do that and were victims. When the McCain campaign of hate released their feeble attacks of lies and distortion, President Obama countered with his own version of campaign carpet bombing. The Republican, not suprisingly, couldn't cope with it. President used a weapon that was unfamilar to the GOP party of hate. The truth. It almost seemed unfair at times.

When McCain said he had Obama right where he wanted him, it was like Sony liston looking up at ALI and telling him to watch his step!

    • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 11/11/2008 3:59:54 PM

      (continued from above:)

Where there might be some debate is on government sponsored programs to benefit the poor, where some may consider that to be give-away aid just making people dependent; well some programs are necessary there also and should be aimed at bringing people up and into the productive community, which has then literally proven to benefit the total economy. The last item was Tax Cuts and they are fine as long as they are effective and responsible and not, as we have recently seen, just aimed at the wealthy with the rationalization that benefits simply will ???trickle down???. The ???trickle down??? theory is a fraud as giving more money to those who already spend all they want on whatever they want, actually has little benefit to the economy, just makes the wealthy wealthier and likely just stimulates campaign contributions. We actually have more of a ???bubble up??? economy were when more money is given to the poor and middle-class it gets spent on needs like a new refrigerator, paying the bills, fixing the car, going out to dinner,,, and gets right back into the economy creating growth, profits for businesses and even benefits for the wealthy. The common sense of it all tells us that what we really need is a fiscally responsible (balanced budget), honest and conscientious, more moderate government focused on benefiting all of the people. Neither extreme is the answer and those who try to rationalize the value of either extreme should be seen as trying to manipulate public opinion for their own purposes. An effective more centrist government is what the voters should logically demand and totally reject any biased subterfuge aimed at selling something different that only benefits a few.

What's Obama needs to Help out are those poor American Famiilies like working as Janitor,Single mum with few kids, daily low-wage workers who wakes up 5 am ieveryday n morning for work and some did 2/3 Job juggling just to survive end meet. They dont ask Government for Sitmulus Package help..They're asking Government to consider their plight to survive. like government asistance, like high subsidies Child's Care, low school fees,Government asistance on Job retraining for them to achieve higher skill.
A confuscius said,"When someone are poverty asking for help, its best you give him a fishing rod and teachs him how to fish then you provides them the Fish itself".

        • Posted By: Bass Pro @ 11/11/2008 5:39:16 PM

Confucius said it well indeed. Those that you describe however already work and help themselve as best they can. They already know how to fish, so to speak. The stimulus will go to help exactly those people you describe. When the last stimulous package was enacted and the checks recieved, I didn't hear anyone including myself say it was wasteful spending. 60% of the American people place the stimulous package for the lower and middle classas their top priority. I think they're right and I'll try to use mine wisely. Bush should promote this package asap because certainly there's a better chance of this money going toward Christmas spending if it gets out in the next 3 months. .

It's a defining difference between Democrats and Republicans. Almost every Republican has condemned the idea. Why? It's because they have little regard for labor. If this was a bailout of Haliburton or some other defense contractor , the checks would be in the mail.

Globalization and war are two sides of the same coin. Throughout many parts of the world, including Central America, there has been little ???hidden??? about the links between corporate interests, globalization, and militarization. Under the guise of the war on drugs, the war on terror, Plan Colombia, and lesser-known programs like the ???humanitarian??? NewHorizons, U.S. military forces are backing U.S. corporate and geopolitical interests from Iraq to Colombia, from Honduras to the Philippines. We can see it in the war on Iraq and how USAID awarded ???reconstruction??? contracts to corporate backers of the Bush Administration and we see it in plans for a U.S. free trade agreement with the Middle East by 2013, based on a network of bilateral FTAs with individual Middle Eastern governments. We can also see it in the Mexican government???s continued war against Indigenous Peoples in resource-rich areas like the Lacandon jungle, home to the Zapatista Army of National Liberation and their supporters. We can see it in the renewed U.S. military presence in South East Asia, especially in their joint exercises with the Philippine military. Their mission is to make the world safe for capitalism and the U.S. empire and to crush communities and economies organized around different values and principles.

Meanwhile, the US has "rewarded" its allies in the "war on terror" (e.g. Australia and Thailand) by negotiating FTAs with them. And it has demanded that the governments of Gulf countries scrap their boycotts of Israeli goods as part of FTA negotiations.

Besides the obvious ways in which US geopolitical concerns are embedded in Washington???s pursuit of bilateral trade and investment deals, other countries are also pursuing bilateral free trade and investment agreements to further geopolitical goals. Increasingly, we can see access to energy resources (eg. oil, gas, uranium and water) as a factor in determining the priorities of signing bilateral FTAs for countries such as China and Japan.

Dont Blame others ,This the Price America has to Pay dearly when adopted Neo -policy . The End Average Americans cannot compete and have to Suffers deeply.

When you talk with a Republican..."You can expect a Whole Lot of UGLY coming from a Whole Lot of STUPID!"

    • Posted By: whatisreal? @ 11/11/2008 3:57:33 PM

I don't think it is the GOP as a whole, there are good people there too. it is these fringe freaks from both sides that stir the pot and say really ignorant things.

The GOP needs to decide if it is going to be a puppet of the 'values voters' with their 2 issues, or move into this century. While they are controlled by the money given by the churce goers to the church leaders who use it for the politics of division, they will continue to be on their own. That will not win elections any more. Hypocrasy does not sell so much, they have been exposed big time.

The sad thing for the GOP is that many in the center want to move to the future, but the base to the right has the money, money from doners that believe they are given to a Godly cause. Those people are not only being used they are losing touch with reality.

      • Posted By: Bass Pro @ 11/11/2008 4:23:38 PM

When you say Good people, do you mean good and ignorant.? If a person knowingly follows party leaders who preach hate how could they be good? If you're saying they know not what they do, maybe you could suggest they're good. How would you like that hung on you? He's a good guy but he doesn't know anything. She's a good peron but she's an imbecile.

The "values" voter is nothing more than a term made up by the mouth-breathin GOP to belittle those that vote for a Democrat. If you don't vote Republican, you lack values and therefore are devoid of morals or ethics.

        • Posted By: whatisreal? @ 11/11/2008 4:36:46 PM

No I mean fiscal conservatives that are good people with a different view.

I make absolutley no excuse for ignorance. The GOP party as a whole has sold out to the base which is out of touch and full of hypocrasy

Ya, that is why I put values voters in quotes.

          • Posted By: Bass Pro @ 11/11/2008 4:59:04 PM

If a person is a fiscal conservative and good, then he or she is a good person. The fact that they are or aren't fiscally conservative doesn't reflect on one's character.

Most of us, I think, are fiscally conservatives to some degree. We don't think it's ok to spend more than we make and we know now, with Social Security and 401Ks in peril, that we should be cautous.
Unfortunately, fiscal conservatism has come to mean that helping the needy is a waste of money. The same fiscal conservatives seeming have no problem with the rich becoming rich while the rest of us are on our own.

I'm willing to share and I admire those like Bill Gates, his father and Warren Buffet who are super-rich but believe they owe the country something.

Most of the people I know who pride themselves on being fiscal conservatives are really just cheap and self centered. Isn't it always this person that doesn't chip in for a retirement gift or doesn't bring anything in for the food drive?

How about this? When we're going to use fiscal conservative in a comment, we use fiscon instead. It's a lot less to type.

            • Posted By: whatisreal? @ 11/11/2008 5:40:45 PM

              Fiscon sounds good...

I guess i am saying i hope to God that the GOP takes control and sends their base looking for some other party to hijack. They should have their own party of politics and religion. Then they can stand on thier own, bet you the base would nto survive wiithout a host. Kind of like a parasite...

Anyhow, you lost, she lost, she was in over her ead and she did teh best she could. I have no ill feelings toward her at all. If she takes the next four years to get up at the national level she could change some minds, but not this time.

The only thing strange is that after your humiliating loss to a "Community Organizer" you are still whining. It is also strange how you have zero integrity, which is why the GOP base appears as hypocrates when people like you are speaking in your way.

You got to the superbowl and you were embarassed. So what. rebuild your party, make it better, bring something new to the table so you don't appear so out of touch and win next time. BFD!

      Step up!

I love basking in the GOP's loss. They have been so oot of touch, and the Bush supporters are just lost in the pile of dung they created for themselves. It is funny how they still hang on to that turd. They are as bad losers as they are winners.

They never deal with issues, they can't. They use lies and distortion like little children. That is what they have been taught, that is how many of the hypocrates operate.

They get smashed at thier own game on the playing field on the world stage. Instead of being constructive they attack with Drudge level comments that remind us of what we teach our children not to do. Very immature, very out of touch and very much a thing of the past.

After all the screaming about Bush's foreign policy, now Newsweek says "relax", there's actually nothing to do????? lol. Hindsight bias. No surprise.
