You New Yorkers are better off with out him. It is over for the 'gov and what he did was wrong, but that is the way stuff happens as sorry ads it is.

All the johns and prostitutes should sue the State of NY of they have been fined and jailed for their crimes. This is an absolute joke, letting high profile people off all the time.
How would he feel if this was his wife, mother, daughter?
He'd probably like it.....as long as there was money to be made from it.
Yah, even those who define law, abuse it as well. So I feel for Eliot's wife and who care's about his non-prosecution people fall in the loopholes all the time. I don't think it would make much of an example but for other people being caught in this dumb act. It's like move to Nevada if you want free range of women who don't respect themselves. It is just a disgrace that women fall into the trap of of feeling like someone through a man's pants.
Both of you "ladies" can blow it out your ear. I am sick and tired of being lectured by nitwit busy bodies. To say this hooker @$5,000 was some how "trapped" by "society" is enough to make one both laugh, cry and be extremely pissed at newspapers giving you a place to pontificate your virtuous, stupid asses. Next thing you know you will be praising Paulson for being our economic saviour. Idiots!! Carlos
How would he feel if the woman was his mother, daughter or wife?
wOW ! HARD HITTING ADVICE FROM THE RIGHT- EOUS.
PERHAPS IT'S OFF SUBJECT, BUT HOW ABOUT A LITTLE OUTRAGE FOR THE NON PROSECUTION OF, SAY, WAR PROFITEERS.. ELECTION FRAUD ARTISTS. 7 TIME ALASKAN FELONS. ETC ETC.
I'd rather the DOJ went after actual human trafficking (which is deplorable) rather than Spitzer and Dupre.
I'll see your Sweden and raise you an Amsterdam as a model for handling prostitution. If it were legal, we could make it safe and hopefully catch the human trafficking and child abuse.
He probably suffers from hypomania. Most of the time an undetected disease left without treatment. He deservs a chance to be treated , if he is. No to be prosecuted. fernando canavati
Again we see the double standard given to another rich politician. How in America, the so called land of equal justice, does this happen again and again? He's as guilty as sin yet he walks with nothing but a little egg on his face. Is it no wonder so many people have very little faith in both the law and justice. dcsfoley
Ditto to the comment by Carolab... the entire US and the world is suffering by unprosecuted crimes by white collar criminals on Wall Street, and instead there is outrage about a victimless crime by one of the only people taking on these fraudsters? What a joke.

Is this not one more example of applying different standards to the powerful and wealthy, esp. for a man noted for his rigid inforcement of law. And, for those who think it's just sex and no big deal, send your women out to pimp for you. Then get back to all of us.

Nice. The despicable Spitzer expects--and is granted--the mercy that he himself has never shown any other human being. Spitzer spent a career gleefully trashing the lives of ordinary (and often innocent) individuals, and now he walks away scot free. Why should it matter that he "takes responsibility" for his actions? If a bank robber "takes responsiblity" for his actions does he walk? Hardly. Spitzer goes free because our system is hopelessly corrupted in favor of government officials and bureaucrats, and against the common person. End of story.
oudly prosecutes prostitution rings in his day job but expects
Targeted?!?! Nothing happened to him! OK, he was humiliated a little. So What?
I just wonder what our Glorious Leader thinks about all this - being that he recognizes prostitution and
human trafficking as the human rights violations that they in fact are.
Just because he has a political standing. He sets a poor example for someone that should have more
integrity and honesty. He has presented either one in his recent actions. Which im sure did not just
recently start. Basically not charging him sends a clear message that our goverment does not caare about our future. It also degrades the core values of what most americans believe in. Im insulted and cant believe
you would just say its ok. Its like saying murders and every worse thing you could think of is ok. I personally dont care if he has had a long standing or not. We should replace him with someone that will uphold our american beliefs. He clearly does not care who he has harmed and clearly the goverment does not either.
Which tells me that goverment does not care about the american people by not charging him you are sending the most terrible message.
Thank you,

TO THINK THAT SPITZER SCANDAL IS NOT BIG DEAL!!! DEMOCRATS WILL BE DEMOCRATS, IF SPITZER HAD BEEN A REPUBLICAN ALL DEMOCRATS WOULD BE CALLING FOR HIS HEAD, THE DEATH OF HIS FIRSTBORN AND THE BURNING DOWN OF THE FAMILY HOME. BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES.
we need more money to run our and hospitals....mr. spitzer should be fined an exceptionally large amount of money...
that should go to the inner city hospitals in his state....
the women that he and others like him have spent time with will probably get cervical cancer and this would help pay for their medical expenses...
Perhaps Mr. Garcia would see things differently if it was his own daughter who was victimized by Spitzer and those like him. They are the reason why human trafficking and prostitution exists. Without consumers, there is no market, without a market, there is no need for the product. It sounds like Garcia is saying Spitzer has suffered enough. I say he hasn't suffered until he has walked in the shoes of his victims. It seems that the moral and ethical issues are meaningless to him, so perhaps society would best be served by leveling hefty monetary fines upon Spitzer and those of his kind. He is no better than the men who molest children in my opinion. This is political favoritism, and it is a miscarriage of justice. It's as simple as that.
I for one am not surprised that he is not being prosecuted. As another big shot politician, we see that there is another system for them. They commit crimes and walk away with on the embrassment. Had it been anyone else, they would be in jail. Typical double standard so many people are used to seeing in America. Only the rich and powerful can get this kind of treatment. dcsfoley
