you must be kidding? You're actually defending him? Payments were documented, etc. So he wasn't caught in the act. The evidence was clear, NOT circumstancial.

Local goverment and community agree prostitution is a victemless crime, in Nevada. Eliot Spitzer case is subjective of guilt. You can make a case for other abuses, but that is a different matter under different circumstances.
Look he wasn't caught in the act of anything ... He admitted he used them in the past ...
The letter of the law does not, should not allow for anyone or any entity to provide for a subjective review and decision. The DOJ does NOT have the flexibility to decide whether or not to prosecute if it is clear there is a law which is broken. What is this? What is happening to our country. Enough!!! Our country continues to go to hell in a hand basket. When does it all stop??!!!
It makes me sickprostitution is illegal. I have to fly to Canada or Nevada to have fun. Yes it is legal in the US and Canada. OJ was guilty and he ot off due to all his money allowing loophole after loophole to skew the evidence. Round two he did not have the wallet backing him up and he lost. Why would a prosecutor go after a man who is evidently connected and with tons of money? He would be wasting the taxpayer's dole. The reality he is to make dollars to pay the bills of the state. Easy money first.
You said he used them in the past ... They didn't catch him in the act ... You can think badly all you want but you didn't catch him breaking the law.
This one seems pretty easy. The man spent a long career in law enforcement. If he ever prosecuted a john, pursued action against johns or made any public statement about prostitution, then he should be vigorously prosecuted. If not, then why not treat him like all other skanky johns and move on to more important matters.
This makes me sick. I agree when it is said that it is not surprising that a former gov. official is set free. Just because you work for the government does not mean you are exempt from consequences you deserve. If this had been a military official, he would have been tried, convicted and put away by now. I am sick of crooked government, and if Obama promises change, then bring it on and change all the corruption in our government.
If I hired a pro, I would be in jail like any other average American. It must be nice to have power and be able to abuse it. Its amazing what a good lawyer can do for you.
You just don't get it. Money makes whores of all the judges and lawyers, as well as the lawmakers. So FRUCK THEM ALL, but most importantly, it has a way of always providing more women, trained from childhood, to also serve these jizbags, so SHUT UP LADY, AND KEEP PRODUCING THOSE KIDS FOR THE "TRAVEL DATE" INDUSTRY and to provide cocksukers for our Presidents!!
The law needs to be visited if the majority of the voting public feels there is no crime in this the process should be dealt with by the processes our system provides. Getting officials to make arbitrary judgements undermines the system in the same fashion judges legislating from the bench undermine the will of the people in cicurmventing our system as it is established further errodes the foundations that have allowed this country become what it is.

Well his wife is sticking with him, so appearantly it's not a big deal. Hope she makes him wear a rain coat from now on though!
there's not any real justice system in our U.S. - He is the worst of the worst !
No charges against this fool? Not surprising that a former gov official gets off (pardon the pun) the hook. His wife ought to take him for everything he's got.
The pimp & trafficking issues are mostly myths,to justify prohibition...
In CA.NY.Il,u cannot legally carry a gun,
in half the states .all murderers get away with prison sentence,
in most areas u cannot legally have sex with a prostitute,
marijuana is illegal anywhere...
The comments show how long & hard will be the road to freedom
I have to agree that with that high of a pay check, exploitation is difficult to press. And adding in possible family problems from childhood doesn't change anything. Dig long enough in anyone's past, and you can come up with some sort of psychologically trying relationship with parents.
On the other hand, I think Spitzer may have suffered enough. It isn't just that johns aren't usually prosecuted, it is also that johns don't usually have to resign from their jobs and show their public humiliation to the nation. That is a very great punishment in and of itself. And it isn't as though the johns are the only ones not punished severely, the prostitutes usually get off light too. It is usually the people who organize the rings that are punished.
This is pathetic. He committed a crime, he needs to be prosecuted. End of story.
I see many choose to discuss whether prostitution should be legal or not? Whether certain drugs should be legal? I agree those are justified topics but the issue at hand is whether thelaw as it is now should be enforced or can the ramifications of an individuals circusmstances impart the justice the law requires rather than the judicial system performing its duties and making an example that is positive with someone whom was supposedly a top legal enforcement officer of the people.
