Eliot is slime. He is sorrier than slime. He is what slime considers slime. The reason why?

He could have done this without the world and his wife knowing about it. I do not feel sorry for his wife.

She either does not care, or she is stupid. Someone needs to tell her to slap his face in public.

That would be respect earned. Sharon from Missouri

I agree with Sharon from Missouri. The man is sorrier than slime as Sharon said. Very well articulated, Ms. Green.

i don't feel sory for the wife either. and WHY do they stand by their man (HA) on public display....it should be a card board cut-out of the hooker! Mrs. S, from what I have read about her, is brilliant, she doesn't look too brilliant in the pix....shame the man more by not being there. Or is there a club out there? Like when Hillary stood by Bill. Hilliary knew Bill had diddled that Monica girl....these women of power look so stupid standing by their guilty husbands. The power play back fires on them and they look more frigid than ever....ahhhhhhh!

what happened to equal under the law he should lose everything including his freedom and pensions

  • Posted By: ecarrara @ 11/12/2008 7:55:17 PM

This is totally unacceptable. The man gets away with it because of his position and money. The lawmakers would rather go after those who have nothing. What about community service or something. one can't help but wonder if Spitzer has some dirt on the Prosecuter. Why else wouldn't you go after the SOB. It is a slam dunk case and americans would feel like these ##### are treated equally. The stark reality is they are not.

Unbelievable. No wonder everything is going the way it has. We need to put morals back into the sistem

I am amazed that an individual that has ruined thosands of lives in this coutntry to become govenor of NY, with aspirations for more, escapes from prosecution. He prfessed the evils of protitution for years, and then soemhow he has escaped !!!

Amazing how th epoliticians are teflon, and the average american bears the brundt of all of our laws.

What is wrong with our system?

  • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 11/12/2008 7:52:19 PM

This man broke the law. He should be prosecuted!

  • Posted By: Old_Timer @ 11/12/2008 7:51:35 PM

Yes, prostitution is wrong but it has been around since BC. This issue goes beyond the incident. The DOJ should release where the "tip" came from what was their motive? Was this pay back for actions of Spitzer as Attorney General? Could it have been directed from a fined firm or was it a warning for AG's office not to push the "Street" too hard? Yes, Spitzer's participation with a prostitute was wrong but that really isn't the
big question here. Maybe this is a diversion from the real incident but with the Government (DOJ) on the question here. With the government on the case will we every know the truth?

Please - Folks - what this begs for is more of the same. We all waste our time here with our out cry but isn't this the same replay of so so many past supposedly public servants taking advantage of their positions? What is to be done if nothing remove the laws so that all people are not being held accountable. If the law is right and good prosecute. If we as a society are going to look the other way where is it to stop? We all need to become political figures so the laws won't apply - or better yet let's live in chaos with no laws.

YOU KNOW WHAAT LOOK AT HIS WIFE!!!!!!!
HOW DARE ANYONE JUST SLAP HIM ON THE WRIST, HE IS UP THERE IN POLTIICS AND HE SHOULD GET WHAT HE DESERVES.
MAYBE NEVER BECAUSE HE IS HIGH UP. AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES ME SICK, HE SHOULD PAY A PRICE HIGHER THAN ANYONE ELSE!

Another reason why this country is going to hell in a hand basket,we have laws for the everyday person but,we have other laws for those who can afford an Alan Dershowitz or are politically connected then we also have the selected few who will preach from the pulpit while doing what they are preaching about with the mind set that laws do not apply to them i.e. Mr.Spitzer

  • Posted By: slock2 @ 11/12/2008 7:49:14 PM

What is wrong with our justice system?????? We allow individuals who prfess to be against prostitution to partake and then not prosecute them? This man destroyed thousands of lives and businesses to become the govenor of NY". then he is found to be doing ilegal activities, yet we don't prosecute.......The average american if they were cought doing he same thing would pay a hefty fine or spend time injail. Apparently if you are a politician, and have connections, you are exempt from prosecition.

What has our country come to?

In prostitution raids, let's remember men break the law, too
BY ANGELA BONAVOGLIA - New York Daily News
    Saturday, July 26th 2008, 6:18 PM
Last week yet another Manhattan prostitution ring was busted. Operating out of the reportedly "posh," "plush" and "swanky" Hot Lap Dance Club, the operation run by lawyer Louis Posner catered to the last survivors of a crashing economy, the attorneys and Wall Streeters willing to pay up to $5,000 for some private time with the club's dancers.
A raid on the club's W. 38th St. loft headquarters netted 21 people, including Posner, his wife and 19 other club employees on charges ranging from money laundering to promoting prostitution. Among those arrested were four female dancers.
What was most interesting about this sting is that report after report simply stated that "no client was arrested," "no customer was cuffed." Period. No story detailed why no johns were nabbed, or even explained who the johns were or what they were doing during the raid.
Like so much of the handling of prostitution in the U.S., this latest legal sledgehammer landed nowhere near the protected heads of the johns who keep these businesses afloat.
Since buying sex is just as illegal as selling it in New York City, the johns should not get off scot-free.

Once again it's not WHAT you know but WHO you know.

It must feel good to be a demo-crap. They can lie, cheat and steal and the media will not report most of it.
This guy (Elliot) is a snake like Bill Clinton and the jerk demo-craps keep letting them back.
Worst ratings in history and they get elected.

  • Posted By: kswindl @ 11/12/2008 7:48:16 PM

lol, jeez. its not like he raped her.
if anything, he should go to jail for being such a hypocrite.

  • Posted By: PvillePi @ 11/12/2008 7:40:02 PM

The thing that is so maddening about the whole Spitzer debacle is that it continues to hold blameless the johns and prosecute the prostitutes. If it's "no big deal" as Dershowitz claims, why do prostitutes continue to pay the price for selling a service that buyers want while johns like Spitzer get off the hook. Poor Eliot Spitzer. He thinks he has "paid for his sins" because he has been publicly humiliated and lost his job and his wife is really, really pissed off at him. That argument is pathetic. Let him spend some time in jail. Prostitution is not a victimless crime; the prostitutes are usually the victims. And because of their work they don't get much justice when it comes to prosecuting the offenders; johns.

This is an absolute travesty. Spitzer should be held to a higher level because he is in office. Instead, he is getting away with it because he was in power. What an absolute embarrassment for the american people. I hope Spitzer is proud of himself. He is a complete and utter moron and should be embarrassed to call himself an American. Once again those in power use the law to protect themselves. He is a pig.

While what Mr. Clinton did while in office can been seen by some of us as "Immoral"- it wasn't illegal. If infidelity was a crime, there would be thousands upon thousands more people incarcerated. The fact remains that PROSTITUTION and the pursuit of it is an illegal act. That is what that SOB should go to jail for.

If he doesn't get prosecuted, then she shouldn't be prosecuted. If she faces charges, then he should face charges. THAT is the point - that the DOJ perpetuates misogyny.
