tiredoflies you need to stop telling them yourself. De-regulation began under Carter and reached the pinnacle under Clinton. The democrats specifically Dodd, Kerry, Frank and Obama blocked all attempts to address Fannie and Freddie. There is enough blame to go around t both parties however.. But there is also no significant evidence that re-regulation would have prevented any of this after all Europe has much more strigent regulation and they are in the same boat. The is a world wide recession likely spurred on by the sudden spike in gas prices at the same time the housing bubble was bursting. Recessions are cyclical. Of late, recessions have been occurring on an almost eight year cycle. Reagan, Clinton and GW Bush all had recessions flare up at the end of their 2nd terms. We will see a recovery within a year or so as long as the govt. doesn't overdue their attempt to "fix" the economy and prolong the recession.

Can Obama save Capitalism? That's a laugh! He's trying to destroy capitalism with his "spread the wealth around" Marxism!!!

You conveniently leave out the fact that GOVT. OVER REGULATION of relaxing the lending standards to the point where anyone with a pulse can get a mortgage had a lot to do with this problem. If Obama over reaches with his huge spending plans along with tax increases on the wealthy and corporations at the worst time possible it will have dissasterous effects on our economy. Oh well, then the pendulum will swing back to the right.
