Life With The Secret Service

The Secret Service is going to be very busy looking out for the Obama's. Every bump in the road is going to cause agents to react above & beyond whatever normal is. Especially if he handles issues for the people the wrong way. Such as giving Wall Street the bailout money instead of giving it to the people. Consumers come first,Wall Street is down around 3rd or 4th on the list.

Message to all A-holes: Obama was sworn in as a Senator, on the family BIBLE held by his wife. He will be sworn in as President of The United States and will place his hand on George Washington's Masonic Bible as other Presidents have. I can't believe people believe any crap that is thrown them and still walk the earth upright???? His being elected effectively will close the doors on all of the rumors. It seems there will always be some mystery about Obama. Interestingly enough, this story does not mention that if Obama had applied to become a secret service agent he would have been unqualified. Why? His associations are so radical and would not have been granted a security clearance. Anyone recall Billy Bob Clinton and all his staff members that did not qualify for security clearances? Clinton had them issued anyway. So for 8 years we had "questionable" individuals with direct knowledge and access to our Nation's secrets. Keep a watch on who Obama appoints.

OREGONBOUNDGAL why exactly doesnt Hawaii qualify as one of the 50 states? If it didnt then wouldnt there be 49? So when someone asks you how many states there are you respond 49 because Hawaii doesnt really count? In other words YOURE A MORON and probably a racist.

Barbara Bush may have been nice to the Secret Service agents but she was nasty to Geraldine Ferraro calling her a "rich it rhymes with witch and she can't say it." She also made snide remarks about Nancy Reagan - "She's done a lot for American designers but I buy my clothes, she doesn't"

Maybe Obama can just hire the Black Panthers to act as his secret guard. They did a great job protecting the polling places during the election. If you really look at what the books are saying is the democratic presidents and their families just want servants and see the Secret Service as a hinderance, or maybe witness to their lifesyles.

The Secret Service does a very difficult job with total competence and professionalism. They are bright, dedicated people. If the people they guard were as competent in their jobs, the United States would be in
splendid shape now. I believe Barack Obama will be a fine president, and the Obamas would never allow
their lovely daughters to become spoiled brats.

What a bunch of spoiled brats! I can't imagine why someone would risk their life for such jerks. Hats off to all the men and women that have to put up with all this nosence in a day's work!

Having Secret Service protection goes along with the job of being president and vice-president. I do not feel any sympathy for the Obama family,past presidential families, or future first families. If someone did not want themselves or there family to guarded 24/7 by secret service, than they should not be running for office. This is not an aspect of the job that is a surprise. Maybe the president and their families should appreciate the fact that the men and women of the secret service put their lives on the line for them every day.

I as a former US Marine think that President Obama and First Family needs all the protection the US Government can offer to him and his family. Safety for the First Family and President Of The United States has to be a mandate, must be safe at all times no matter what and must accept the protection from the Secret Service. Thank God for there service for protecting our future President OBama. God Bless you always President OBama

No matter which side of the political fence you're on, these books are unacceptable. Congress should enact law mandating that Secret Service agent may never profit from information gained during their work. Further, they should not prevent their protectees from being investigated or arrested for crimes like the did with the Bush daughters and Dick Cheney who shot a man because Cheney was drunk while hunting. Even those who don't like or respect Dan Quayle likely would agree with me that his "adventures" with his wife should NEVER have been revealed. I don't appreciate reading about theat.

"marley': I saw tapes of three separate times that Hillary suggested someone might take Obama out, with specific reference to the assassination of Bobby Kennedy. Who knows how many other times she made the same suggestion. She apologized to the Kennedys but never to Obama. Sarah Palin beamed at shouts of 'terrorist' and other hate in response to her hate and fear suggestions at her rallys. Racism was prolific in the anonymous emails and in blogs like this. Powell would not run because of his wife's fears. Two skinheads have been arrested for boasting they would assassinate him. If ever Secret Service protection was appropriate, then it is now.
