Wow???. That???s a lot of newspapers! There???s no doubt why reporters are obsessed with Barack Obama and his family. The fact that he???s African American, his wife is the first black Lady, and the economic crisis due to George W. Bush, of course America is in desperate need of a ???hero.??? I???m thinking that due to all the newspaper sales, Obama and his family are going to be the center of attention of all the media. The media and Obama deserve all the attention it???s getting. Obama being president will be an unforgettible event in 2009. Although I disagree with Obama, I???m letting him lead America out of this economic crisis to a brighter, happier future.

Though you seem very unhappy about this, you should face the fact and accept what???s going on. This is a big change for America and it deserves to be heard. Although most journalists claim to be more liberal, studies show that the media is not politically biased.

If anything Bo is destorying the media along with everything in the USA as we know it. But the liberal WHORES that have been supporting him well deserve what they get. This whole BO thing was brought about by the Liberal WHORES news media like Newsweek, NY Times, LA Times and the msm television stations. All of these medias lied to the people to the point where I will buy none of them and I will contact their advertisers and boycott them as well. I see where the NY Times and Boston Globe are failing and I am CHEERING loudly. May Newsweek follow and SOON.

Funny I didn't realize Liberals could read. Maybe they look at the pictures?

Some people seem to enjoy predicting "the death of" this or "the death of" that. Personally, I do NOT expect print to die. SOME individual newspapers may eventually have to discontinue or scale back their print editions (some already have). But, EVEN among people with access to the Internet, I think there will ALWAYS be those willing to pay for a newspaper that they can hold in their hands and read!

News Media.... whether it be Internet, print, TV, etc???. is all nothing but liberal lying, biased pond-scum. They won the presidential election for Obama with their propaganda, with misleading and ???selective??? news stories/coverage. They spoon-fed and lied to the ignorant, gullible masses. They have led our country down the road to socialism and economic failure. When the no-good, know-nothing scum bag Obama does not deliver on all the impossible promises he made to the idiots who fell for the crap he was spewing???. they, the no good lying leftist, liberal ???media??? will twist everything around and blame it all on the previous administration or the Republicans. They will cover up any and all mis-steps by the bumbling Obama. Obama is in so far over his head that he will find himself constantly changing his underwear. I just hope the first people who lose their jobs because of cutbacks are the ???Media??????. They deserve it, after all, they ???created??? this President??? and they should go down with him!!!

I would hope people would become more intererested in keeping informed, Given the glaring effect of misinformation particularly with regard to the invasion of Iraq, and now the economy, it was barely two months ago both Bush and McCain were saying the economy was sound.
Everything one needed to know about the invasion of Iraq was on the first three pages of the LA Times daily in the months leading up to that travisty. Yet it was years before the greater number of Americans became aware Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and the President had been lieing all along about just about everything. A day later and a dollar short as they say.
It was interesting in a recent survey less than 5% of the voters used newpapers and magazines as their source of information.
And people wonder how we elected a coke head alcoholic who thought he was appointed by God to be President, and support his war for oil under the pretext of "being protected"
And we now pay a very dear price,
We can thank God he has only two more months in office and we have a President who has a vision for American rather than a vision for the oil companies at the expence of America.

Quote: "And people wonder how we elected a coke head alcoholic who thought he was appointed by God to be President, and support his war for oil under the pretext of "being protected"

What a load of pure BS. Bush was a heavy drinker and quit in 1986. He's religious man, but he's never said he was "appointed by God." That rhetoric came from followers after 9/11. Btw, you didn't mention that we just elected a former coke head and drug user as our president.

I Guess that slipped your mind.

I heard on the itnernet that souvenir newspaper issues were running out everywhere because they were so popular and I ran out and got myself a copy. Talk about creating a demand! But what can you say, Obama (http://www.spinwhip.com/obama) is like that, ain't nuttin you can do, he's inspiring and people realize it's momentous.People keep talking about him as the first African American president but I hope that it is genuine belief in his abilities that is fueling the interest... and not the color of his skin, otherwise, we have made no progress.

wow, guess your buddy obama is letting a bunch of lobbyists in his cabinet. Uh oH!!!!!

what a ridiculous piece of fluff. The answer to the headline question is in the last paragraph. Thousands of good reporters and editors are out of work and you have a job writing this nonsense?

  • Posted By: jduncan3321 @ 11/14/2008 3:36:20 PM

He should save them. He owes them big time. They got him elected.

  • Posted By: Sunshine1957 @ 11/13/2008 6:30:04 PM

I feel sorry for these people. The no not what the they do :( sad

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 11/14/2008 2:56:08 PM

Gee, Misnomer Sunshine, I thought you were exclusively invested in feeling sorry for yourself...

  • Posted By: miltongalfas @ 11/14/2008 1:56:22 PM

BO can't even save himself. He has never worked so he is in a real pickle right now. He is going to have to learn to deal with people pretty quickly. I predict he will have the most news conferences of any pres ever. And when he messes up really bad the people will turn on him like they did Bush and Clinton and his druggie side will have him colapse. Oh well first an Alcoholic and now a cocaine guy. Next we get the heroin president.

Hey guys, I???m signing off because for some time now, I???ve come to the realization that Newsweek is not a good magazine. We even cancelled our 2 year subscription. The reason why I would sign in and leave comments on their website is because the magazine is SO BIAS that someone has to step in and say something. But I???ve realized that this is not healthy and God is in control.
I???ll leave you all to bicker amongst yourselves. Don???t waste too much time on your computers and/or this website. Find something positive to do??? Get a JOB if necessary.
May God Bless you all and this wonderful country we live in.

Newsweek, for heaven's sake, get a grip! None of us voted for Savior-in-Chief. First it was an article about Obama saving captialism, now he is saving the media - let's try saving a little sanity here!

He is one man, he can't do it alone, and if anyone is listening, has repeatedly said he wants and needs ALL Americans on board.

One of the reasons newspaper and magazine sales are up is because PEOPLE are buying them. People, as in you and me. As citizens, we feel part of the process, and so we want to read about it, not just Obama, but our role in electing him - or even our role in voting against him, but OUR role in making a democracy work.

And we made it work - we achieved the peaceful transfer of power from one group to another, without riots, chaos, or revolution in the streets; not a shot was fired, not a life was lost.

This is our miracle, and we did it together. It is not Obama who has made this happen, it is us, all of us.

Each of us has the capacity to "save" the media, "save" capitalism, "save" ourselves. We don't need a savior, we don't even want one, we just need a reminder now and then of what we are capable of.

So please, shelve the "savior" rhetoric.

wHERE IS THE GOLD TOOTH? OR THE METAL MOUTH????

  • Posted By: marley07 @ 11/13/2008 10:33:35 PM

What do they call a band or singer who creates one song that's a hit and then vanish? Oh yeah, one hit wonders. Flash in the pan when it comes to people buying media with obama content. what a joke and waste of time this article was.
