Imagine how so many people who have relied on Botox, and monthly hair appointments are going to look like now. They might look like the rest of us tired and hard working folks. I have always had my own personal style, out of necessity, rather than desire. I was being raised by a single mom, and we went to thrift shops rather than the mall. You won't find the latest trends at the Salvation Army, you have to create your own look from your finds.

I love your one of your last statements, "It's a matter of feeling empowered to tell the truth about who you are, instead of conforming to society's unforgiving and unrealistic ideals". I feel like we are moving in a direction where many people feel more comfortable expressing who they are through dress. I hope this will also begin to change mass consumption buying habits so we don't necessarily need to shop at Walmart so that we can have more, more & more. Rather consumers can buy a little bit to express who they really are.

I think people NEED to be and seem different but unfortunately, they prefer feeling safe in their uniformity.
Since my childhood, I always hated dressing like the masses do, because I thought this way I was oppressed. Growing up, I realised that being different, no matter it is about going out, on holidays or appearance, needs a lot of courage...
