it is not the fault of the show that a crazy person decided to end their life. the show has been a great way for some very talented people to be discovered. the people that audition for the show know how the judges speak their minds before they audition, it is up to the people not to audition if they cant handle the criticism. bring on the new season january 13th.

Of course Idol will make another run for the big bucks and cheezy entertainment. Paula will do fine as well. She'll fix herself another drink and notw that Archuletta is of age, she'll be bedding him sometime soon I'm sure.

Just end the nightmare for the people and cancel Idol altogehter.

the people that audition for the show know what the judges are like before they go, it is not the fault of the judges for telling the truth to some of these people who think they can sing and cant. the show has been a great oppurtunity for people to be heard and discovered.

American Idol is at the extreme of "non-culture" in the USA. Its death is long overdue.

Who cares that she committed suicide. That was her choice and a selfish one at that. No one is to blame except for the person committing the act. She decided she didn't want to live anymore and she made the conscious choice to take her life. So be it ... there are more important things in the world.

I knew that it was just a matter of time before something like this happened. I never thought for one minute that this was staged. Simon,Abdul on others on the show are directly responsible for this. I have never, nor will I ever be, a fan of this ridiculous show. Just one more facet of the ridiculous arena of reality shows. Bring back REAL television.

I knew it was just a matter of time before a tragedy such as this occured. I never thought for one minute that the ridicule of Simon, Abdul and others was staged. I'm also sure that other contestants have suffered some type of mental disorder since their appearance on the show also.

This is one of the more abusive shows on TV. Ridicule and petty criticism from the judges and seems to up the ratings and strengthen the thought that there is no music in the music business. Hollyweird at its best . And, the fans, contestants and judges deserve each other.

Like Hell, I will! The American people have to re-educate themselves to aspire to greatness, not the mundane.

This show is a disgusting menage of pathetic wannabes, talentless and deluded losers, and judges with serious needs for therapy. I have never understood why anyone watches this garbage. Are the viewers so disappointed in their own miserable, unfulfilled lives that the only way they can feel good about themselves is to watch others makes fools of themselves before the world? There's a tragedy for you.

I won't watch Americal Idol, mostly because the judges think they have the right to cruelly criticize others. We all have opinions of those whom we meet in our day to day lives. Common consideration for others has all but disappeared. The result is a society who do not consider the feelings of others. The death of Paula Goodspeed may not be directly related to her appearance on Americal Idol, but then again, it may be. We never know if people we meet are in a fragile mental state. We should have empathy for others, not act superior for the sake of television ratings. I think the show needs to reconsider how it judges contestants.
