The days of Rovian politics and threatening deception are gone. The GOP is dead. The RVC is a mess and may never recover. The American People have learned a great deal during this election and over the last 8 years. We won't out up with the 'good ole boy' culture of Washington or believe the lies told to sway votes and lead us into places where we shouldn't be. Perhaps this will finally be an awakening to the 21st Century!

In other words, Republicans should be like Democrats, but manage to hide their true agenda of privilege for the greedy rich, gratuitous privatization to sabotage Social Security, medicare, and heath care, disdain for the Constitutional rights and liberties of American citizens, and support of useless wars to distract the public from the failing social and physical infrastructure.

Very clever, Mr. Rove! It might just work in the poor, ignorant states of Appalachla and the Mountain Time Zone.

What this Country needs is an independant party that can challenge the Democrats in elections we do need a two party system simply to maintain democracy.
The Republican Party could just fade away a fate it richly deserves. or it could become a marginal party based on an anti tax prolife platform that it is so enamored by

The real problem with the Republicans is they act like they won. They did the same in 2006. They still pushed their hate based, pro-corporate, pro-war agenda, when the people didn't want it. Republicans did then what they are doing now. They are telling the people what they think and what they want. The Democrats are listening to what the people. The Republicans think we are stupid and can't think ourselves.

Gee whiz Karl the Republicans already followed you off the cliff, they're now hanging on to the shrubbery to break their fall and that's the "wilderness'" you now promise to lead them out of? "We've been walloped" you say, Karl you've been walloped after leading your party, your President and this nation to the brink of disaster. If your homeboys follow you any further the GOP will be reduced to the size where we "can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub" to paraphrase the moron Norquist.

Why is Karl Rove earning money writing about politics and not in sitting in jail? When will he be held accountable for the damage his rotten politics have caused? I'm disappointed Newsweek is publishing his writing and giving him credibility he does not deserve.

If artw comment is directed to me,

    I checked the polls ...

For 1-2 weeks after Palin's selection, the ticket was 1-2% ahead.

Then she tanked & all transients flocked to Obi's camp, for "change "...

Pry the religious right off the 'nads of Republicans and maybe...just maybe there will be a resurrection.

      No pun intended, right?
Say, why not do a little research on the demographics before you make such a silly statement

Karl Rove, you are the dirtiest, slimiest, and sleaziest politician, and IT would have been nice to see you go to jail.
( I pray that you are apprehended every day) You are not a good human, you are a rotten one. Case closed.

Mr. Rove, we have discovered your REAL philosophy, so no more fear mongering in order to give up our rights. Here is his mentor.........

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."
    - Julius Caesar

The GOP must eschew Sarah Palin. She's a gun zealot who supported the massacre of majestic wolves and their pups as a means to placate inhumane hunters who wanted to kill more moose and caribous. Palin also opposed placing polar bears on the endangered species list. I noticed that a couch at her home is decorated with a dead bear. What a nightmarish human being.

The leftists' comments help us to understand their political IQ...

In essense, they ask the Reps to endorse...leftist ideology...

They don't elaborate on the issue of crucial transient voters, the 5 % who make or break a President.

That is good for Rove & Reps.

If they manage to attract the transient vote, they may make Obama the black Carter...

With apologies to Mr. Rove, the election was lost because the republican contender came across as confused, befuddled, and erratic. He was unable to articulate any kind of vision with respect to either foreign policy or a way out of the economic morass we presently face. Like it or not, elegance, bearing and enthusiasm are attractive qualities in a leader and Mr. McCain projected none of these. As for the congressional contest, given all the givens in our present circumstance, the republicans should have been crushed rather than just seriously wounded. That they were not is proof that it wasn't policy that lost the election, it was ineptitude. As for me who generally leans republican, I did not and could not vote for McCain, I did, however, vote for Palin who appeared to me to have the right stuff. Where has all that knowledge, experience and wisdom on Wall Street and in D.C. gotten us? Maybe it's time for someone who doesn't have "too much" experience but who is a quick study, strong, persuasive, and confident to take over. Maybe that's why Obama got elected Mr. Rove.

Karl needs to stay with FOX noise where he fits right in with the other misfits. As long as the Republican party clings to the need for "social values" as a political goal, it should be doomed to fail. Keep that stuff in the churches where it belongs, and deal with the issues that affect people's every day lives. Frankly, I hope the party heeds your advice because it is doomed to continued irrelevance if it does.

"Obama tax the hell out of me, but give me a job where I can make that kind of cash!!!" from gvillagran3.

Yeah, you ask Obama to "GIVE me a job where I can make [$250,000])." How about you get off your ass and do something to deserve to make $250,000 per year. May I suggest investing the time you spend making stupid comments online (and asking someone to GIVE you something) in something more productive, you worthless parasite. You're not "real common people," you're just a loser. Losers tend to blame those that achieve anything for why they don't have much. That's why they stay losers. What a dumbass.

    • Posted By: jradmacher @ 11/16/2008 2:32:00 PM

This is funny that you are telling someone to quit wasting time making dumbass comments when you are doing the same yourself. Calling someone a worthless parasite would be someone who is a worthless POS.

Carl Rove the Republicans way back to a majority or even a player in politics is to get rid of people like you. Your party at your direction became the party of liars, hacks and criminals. You need to take your money and get out of politics, unless you like the Democrats and want them to keep winning. Your style of politics was good for the short term but you can only lie to the American public so long. The Republicans need an honest and intelligent leader.

Karl Rove is the political architect of the least effective and least popular presidency of modern times. He has also consistently, throughout his career, displayed an ethical standard that would have to climb a ladder to kiss a snake. Why would any reputable news organization give this man a job?

    • Posted By: Braes @ 11/16/2008 2:17:56 PM

If my mortal enemy were going to print a game-plan, or presume to, I'd buy a copy. Even if it were filled with oversimplifications, crass appeals to ignorance, hyperbole, and enough bullpoop to fertilize an Orchard... I'd read it.
Rove is still going to appeal to about 4-7 Million voters. They form one 'base' of the opposition. Karl is just an eloquent advocate for the wrong. He does from time to time get something right. He also knows as a tick, which dog to ride. He did get into the White House and was setting policies, and doling out political favors, like who gets disaster relief, like Republican Mississippi, as opposed to Louisianna, who gets prosecuted, who gets lied to, who gets attacked and killed... and how to spin it into civic virtue.

Notice that all it takes is a bit of truth and logic, and some folks are reduced to tantrum-like name-calling and locker-room insults. Seems an awful lot like Rovian tacticians who continually say something nasty often enough, true or not, and hope it will be believed by the poor, stupid voters. Doesn't look like inclusion-based politics, looks like class warfare. After 8 years of this, some of us are tougher and smarter than that..

    • Posted By: kaj_pagan @ 11/16/2008 1:30:37 PM

That was truly a 'blizzard of words'. What was your point again?

  • Posted By: billastt @ 11/16/2008 1:03:23 PM

Karl Rove ia dangerous to the United States of America and Democracy.
His devious plotting will ultimately destroy Democracy and this country.
This is a middle of the road country looking after the well being of the middle, the left and the right.
The only consideration should be what is GOOD FOR ALL, 100% of the time.
Everyone in PUBLIC OFFICE, MUST REPRESENT ALL OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME!

"You can buy auto insurance from anywhere in America, even from a lizard, so why not health insurance?"

You can get a snow job from any right-wing policitican, even a snake, so why not from Rove?

If the republican party wants to re-invent itself, the first thing it needs to do is severe its ties from Karl Machiavelli Rove, who is still advocating evangelical "values" that are not mainstream as a way to intimidate others who believe differently, and who is still advocating unethical gerrymandering of congressional districts for the sole purpose of disenfranchising anyone who doesn't look and think like Karl Rove.
