Only one advise to Rove and al., watch MANOR HOUSE. A series by PBS based in real history that illustrate very well the oppression and abuse by the HIGHER class to the LOWER class during the halcyon period in British social history before the First World War ??? Edwardian Era. Ending up in the socialistic society of today.........
So much people can be oppressed and abused while other are having the good life by exploitation and unfairness.

Learn from history because if you think Obama is socialist, continue the republicans Trickle down approach and you will see real socialism! Instead of defending capitalism, the republican party will destroy capitalism, already started with Bush and the bank bailout. Right Extreme will only tip the balance heavily in the other sense.

Glad Obama will be more to the center and a unifying figure to avoid this.......No doubt Democrats will save capitalism with a good dose fairness and republicans will destroy it if given any chance, every time they are in power is worst each time...It is history stupid!

I am a lifelong Republican and still registered as one in Texas even though I currently live in Europe. But I question comments by Mr. Rove on the air and in print which attribute Obama's electoral success to the Obama campaign's following (and or their application of) Rove's "formula" for success. Doing so merely demonstrates how insecure Mr. Rove is as regards his reputation as a political campaign guru and serves to undercut Rove's "claim to fame" as one. It has been my experience that people who are truly astute and knowledgeable about what they are doing and why don't betray such psychological insecurities about it.

mizeeyore59 - Anyway, maybe someday you'll get your way and have a country filled with and run by lunatics like you. If that happens, I'll be elsewhere laughing as you either (a) starve to death after eating the last of the rats; or (b) wind up as the butt-toy of the soldiers of whatever country waltzes in and takes over.

You're so pathetic and screwed up this is getting boring--I didn't even read your last post--just scanned the usual hyperbole and class hatred keywords. So post all you want--I won't be back here to read it.

    mizeeyore59 -
I didn't say other people who don't make a lot of money were lazy, stupid parasites. I said you were. I've lived poor and I've lived comfortably, and from my perspective, the view hasn't changed--dumbasses who write crap like you look like dumbasses from either place. I'm not including you in any general class except the class of ***.

What drives me crazy is who does Rove and the Republicans think are fighting our wars now? Most in the military are of Hispanic or African-American descent. Anyway, wha't's wrong with Hispanics coming here? They are family people and work hard, just the kind of people we want here. Repulican or Democrat: Just Say No to Hate!

If you think for one minute this isn???t class warfare, you had better look a little closer. That???s why Obama won, don???t kid yourself. Obama ran a campaign of inclusion, not one that depended on the usual Karl Rove negative name-calling, moral superiority BS that McCain sold out to in his desperation to win, even after his family was nearly torn apart by the same tactics. Speaking of learning from history, Reaganomics is nothing more than union-busting, regulation-killing, big-money making policy. The simple difference between Republicans and Democrats is exactly what Obama said, and that is ???I am my brother???s keeper.??? Republicans believe it???s every man for himself, period. Rove is a perfect example. He would eat his own young. Just a warning, but rich white Republicans need to know that their ranks are shrinking fast. They are endangered. They will be the minority in less than 50 years. The numbers don???t lie. Even if they reproduced like Catholic rabbits, they???re still going the way of the polar bears. Anyway, they can???t put up a fence big enough, fast enough. In fact, who???s going build that fence at a profit for them anyway? That???s right, those ???horrid, non-white, illegal people,??? the ones whom you may eventually have to pay a living wage to do the dirty work. They had better send those pretty white babies to college to learn Spanish. This is and always has been a country of immigrants, some of whom had to be imported for an economic system of subjugation. The rest of them come on their own, and work hard to earn what???s ???trickled down??? on them. The problem is that some of them are getting uppity and the white Republicans are losing control, and getting fearful. These ???dumbass??? immigrants have had the nerve to learn a second language and work hard for the American dream, and Obama includes them. Quit insulting them. They may be your boss sooner than you think, and you???ll be asking them to ???give you a job.???

Maybe - hopefully - Karl Rove's Way of Lights is over. The WWII folks are dying every day, the Christian Evangelicals and the ignorant pandering Rove and the Republicans did to them is on its way out, and maybe folks are waking up.

How many of you I wander watched the gracious, and honorable concesion speeach given by Sen. MacCain in Arizona?

Reason I ask is because the one thing that jumped at me in the usual "Network camera panoramic shots of the crowd".... Only this was no ordinary "crowd"...... Man OH, man!!!! Plumbing must be more profitable that I ever tough possible, for the "common Joe the Plumber " types that supposedly supported McCain looked ..... yes, you guessed it!!! All White (no surprise here), but most of all very, very rich.

In the few shots of the "crowd" I saw more Diamonds than in a Gordon Jewlers informercial... No wander they are against tax increases for 250,000 and up!!! Hell, I would be too if I had to give up the Diamond I just gave to my trophy wife!! Obama do you have any idea how many broken pipes I had to fix to pay for your stinking tax!!!!! Now look waht you have done, I can't buy no Diamonds any more!!!!

But now that you lost dear Republicans, look at it from the positive side. You can allways go into plumbing and "worry: about being taxed for making $250,000 or more. I for one will take the deal. Obama tax the hell out of me, but give me a job where I can make that kind of cash!!! In fact just do your best so that I , and the rest of us real common people can keep our jobs... The jobs that put food on our table, not Diamonds in our necks.

But Karl don't get me wrong, I know that Republicans are also supported by "common" people.... In fact I watched them at Sarha Palin campaign stops . You were well represented. The crowd looked........ All White, all very, very "energized" with Kill Obama, and he is aaaaannn Arab!!!! , terrorist !!!, socialist!! etc, etc. You know the usual "Base" of the Republican party composed from Middle aged, white Baptists religious conservatives, living in the rural areas, or in the South, Blue Collar, high school educated for the most part, sprinkled by your usual nuts, racist, red necks and skin heads..... Just the kind of base a party needs to advance discourse, promote unity, and most importantly to win elections in a multi-ethnic country like ours.

Karl...... Good luck with you base. But if you can't change them, your party will become the BASEment of American politics.

  • Posted By: gvillagran3 @ 11/15/2008 10:06:14 PM

    Karl.

If you think you can win ever again by standing only on the votes of White Southeners be my guest... Keep on trying it. You are against Hispanics, Blacks, Young People, Old People, Different people, and that is why you are running out of people that will elect you.

The Republican Convention, and subsecuent McCain campaign were so white I had to put my sunglasses to watch them. Seriously pal, the GOP is not a party any more, it is a club.

Wherever "Conservative" ideas you, and you party stood for, were pissed on by the "Conservative" Bush Administration you served under. So in short pal, your actions as usual don't match your words... And as far the GOP is concerned ? They are just a buch of sheep that will salute, and follow the leader they are given without question..... Even if is an idiot like Bush.... And then they pretend to have a soul !!!!! Of a sheep maibe.

    BEEEEE BEEEEE

One thing I know for sure..... Obama would have to destroy the planet to do worst than Bush..... OH waith , Bush almost acomplish that, so for get It, Obama simply can not top Bush even if he was the freeking Anti-Crist some of the nuts in your part claim him to be.

  • Posted By: olderwiser @ 11/15/2008 9:15:02 PM

Well, Karl, it looks like all of those four million protestant fundamentalists that you said you had to go and drag into your party to get the idiot prince elected in 2004 are hanging around your party's neck now, sort of like a dead Albatross. They grew in number and joined in with racial bigots and every other hardheaded narrow minded hate mongering minority that exists in this country. I think that there is not much you can do now to try to save your party outside of concocting a giant laxative that could somehow purge that corruption from the bowels of the Republican Party. It did have a tone of decency to it before you performed your legerdemain in its unfortunate behalf.

"Republican health-care proposals are strong; they can trump the Democrats' big-government ideas, "

LOL. The GOP loves to talk about "big government democrats"...but how many new government jobs were created under Reagan? 200,000. And, hell, Bush added an entire department.

There IS a party of big government...the GOP.

Yes I am sure he would like to forget the past as that is where his criminal activity ocurred.

Mr. Rove should allow time for the 2008 election results to digest before discussing the next election. In particular, I hope the Republicans play ball with President Obama, unlike the way they treated President Clinton, undermining him at every turn. Politicians of both parties need to cooperate for the stakes are too high and the risks too great to allow our country to falter under derisive partisanship.

  • Posted By: oldfoxbob @ 11/15/2008 8:20:23 PM

The only reason I voted Democrat this time instead of Republican is because I am tired of the religioius right telling me who, what, when and where to live my life. They are taking over the republican party and that is not good for any political party. The only thing they worship is not God but the almighty dollar. Get rid of them and I will start to vote republican again. But not until then.

  • Posted By: oldfoxbob @ 11/15/2008 8:17:55 PM

Being a republican...I can say I would have voted republican if the religious right would get out of our party. I am tired of their dictating how and why we should vote and act. I am proud to say I voted for Obama and not McCain this time and that is the only reason I did so. The religious right has no place in our country policy and it they think they do then they should be TAXED!!! Looke at their homes and cars, that tells it all MONEY!

"Comment: Criticize respectfully?" "Please, allow even the intellectually inferior among us have our say.
    "
Apparently you all get the chance to have your say. I fear you will also all get what you deserve and wish I could be elsewhere when you get it. Better to have your say every 4 years and be on the team in between, not being a ball and chain we have to drag along every day.

  • Posted By: mizeeyore59 @ 11/15/2008 7:54:35 PM

Criticize respectfully? Respect is not Karl Rove's trademark. We are not all so spoiled and stupid as to deserve to drink the kool-aid as Robert E suggests, nor is all of the press intellectually handicapped. This is the same sort of thing that is preached from the right-wing conservative pulpit. We are to submit to our leaders with our respectful mouths shut because God says so in the bible. Please, allow even the intellectually inferior among us have our say.

No, my comments aren't a plant and I not only stand by them, but emphasize that you are an example of someone who is incapable of seeing outside your little gerbil-ball world. And I'm not even upset about who won the election--there are more qualified people in both parties, but at least Obama is smarter than most of you, as is Bush). I'm upset that as time moves on, more and more of the American population forgets history (or rationalizes away its lessons), believes they have the luxury to be divisive and divided, and insults those they have elected from either party. The media (and Congress) is the joke it is because of the customers they serve. Spoiled. Brats. Ignorant. Arrogant. Dishonorable--The products of an education system that believes self-esteem is a God-given innate right, whether earned or not.
Not that the population as a whole was ever smarter--it's just that we were once more united and didn't rip apart those trying to lead us--they weren't deluded into thinking they were all sufficiently intelligent or informed to butt in on every decision. They weren't brainwashed into feeling it was their God-given duty to resist, distrust, and insult those who had achieved some degree of authority. They perhaps didn't understand WHY some degree of unity is necessary for a culture to survive, but they acted as if they did, and the government functioned better. They learned that peace is an ideal, but that to strive for it at ANY cost, as did Chamberlain and other European leaders, could be a costly ideal (100 million people dead, most of whom weren't even soldiers).
My advice: remember that this is a Democratic REPUBLIC, not a Democracy. The public elects their leaders to make decisions for them--they aren't supposed to undermine and insult them at every opportunity. Criticize respectfully, but in the end, we have to unite behind them until we vote them out 2 or 4 or 6 years later as the case may be. Maybe one American in a thousand (I'm being generous here) has any realistic perspective of current political and cultural reality in the world, and a sufficient grasp of history to understand what scenarios are actually possible in the near future. Obama???s not my first choice, but he or McCain could probably reasonably deal with problems at hand if not constantly being undermined, second-guessed, Monday-morning quarterbacked, and insulted by vast numbers of arrogant, spoiled Americans and their opportunistic, even more arrogant media. Give the office the respect and support it deserves. Trust me, most of you really are astoundingly ignorant. Stick to trying to do your job better and let the President do his this time.

"Avoid mindless opposition" is a nice concept. I could believe it more if it weren't coming from the slime king of poison politics. This is as disingenuous as Palin last week decrying the "extreme partisanship" of the election - like all she'd been doing was trying to lead a polite, civil discussion of the issues. What a joke.

Now that the republicans are in the congressional minority, we should hear a lot of talk from them about non-partisanship. But when they were in the majority it was "scorched earth" politics all the way. There was no such thing then as 'the honorable opposition."

Newsweek, can't you get a more respect-worthy conservative commentator than this push-polling dirty trickster?? Shame on your magazine for legitimizing him.

Blah Blah Karl Rove..sure he's an amoral jacka$$ but so what, so is almost any political advisor.

The Republican Party needs to MODERNIZE, and get some actual dirt under it's nails.

Stop looking back..no one CARES about Reagan anymore..AND we're ALL done being "trickled on" thank you.

And stop "play acting"..$150,000.00 wardrobe so that you can "pretend" to be average is insane. A guy who's never had to pay for his own healthcare in his LIFE is going to overhaul MY healthcare?????

If you want to be competitive, play by your own free market rules, actually produce better ideas, and better candidates. Coke didn't beat Pepsi by claiming that Pepsi was poisonous.
