In this case - Bible prophecy, Christians, the Republican Party, the Antichrist, the "Rapture", etc, etc, etc - Here's one for the both of you - There isn't going to be a Rapture! That's right! The whole Rapture theology is full of holes and was the brain-child of a Jesuit priest by the name of Francisco Ribera, who is refered to as, "the Father of Futurism". Ribera is just the tip of the ice berg, so to speak! It's ignorant people like you who are dangerous - Why? As a Christian who is an avid amateur eschatologist I must say that this article is a gross simplification of this topic. It serves up a great script for Hollywood and fodder for persecutors of the faith (this article's true motive IMO) but does little to address the real eschatological discussion currently underway. The beast out of the Earth (because there is more than one beast) mentioned in the Revelation of Jesus Christ is never directly named "the Antichrist". That is only done after much cross-referencing. Will the beast be an antichrist? Sure, as is anyone who denies that Yeshua ben Yosef is the Messiah. That is the single, biblical definition of antichrist (the antichrist doesn't "eat babies" contrary to some people's poor understanding). Since Obama currently confirms Jesus is the Christ (since he claims to be Christian) he cannot be considered an antichrist. Since he is not an antichrist he cannot be the beast. I don't know why the 666 Illinois lottery number is included. It is a sign of nothing more than how this article is poorly researched. Obviously if circumstances change then my opinion will also. But, currently, Obama has as much potential to be the beast out of the Earth as Bush does/did.

Besides we Christians who have an ear are not scared of the beast that comes out of the Earth...we know his fate.

Whether or not Obama is the Anti-Christ is somewhat insignificant. What is substantial is that his type of persona seems to bear the marks of the rise to power of whoever will be/is the Anti-Christ. One of perhaps three scenarios in terms of the characteristics of this person's rise to power may be: 1) A charismatic leader who is seen as a quasi-Messiah; 2) A ruler who takes his position by force and aggression and demands irrevocable allegiance; and thirdly 3) Someone who slips through the cracks unnoticed and suddenly appears on the world stage. The first view tends to be the most widely-shared one and the characteristics of Obama's progression to prominence and world acclaim is why many are watching closely. If it is not him, the scenarios previously mentioned may provide a means for identifying who this person may be in the future.

Unfortunately, much of what is taught in the mainstream Christian church about the book of Revelation and the return of Christ has error. If there is any leaven, the whole teaching is messed up. For example, the Bible does not say that the Antichrist is wounded in his head. It says that one of the (symbolic) heads of the (conglomerate) beast is mortally wounded and is healed, (Revelation 13:3), the 'head' of the beast is symbolic and refers to a country or leader/king, (Revelation 17:9-10). The 'rapture', (what the Bible calls the 'first resurrection', Rev. 20:4-6) will occur AFTER the great tribulation and upon the return of Christ. It will likely happen within the next few years, but many things must occur before then. The Antichrist has certain characteristics that will fit ALL the scriptures, not just some. Obama does not have enough of those characteristics to fulfill those scriptures, though it is possible he is, it is unlikely. Osama Bin Laden fits better, but the true Antichrist will be even more evil than him.
