Let's see...First he was not black enough. Then there was even a question if he was black or "multi-ethinic".
Second he went to a Muslim school when he was young so that made him some sort of closet practicing Muslim who is really out to destroy the country.
    Now he's the Antichrist?
COME ON AMERICA GET A GRIP.....

For many white racists any black man in the role of President is seen as the Antichrist. Would this garbage even be written if Obama were whte? Of course not. And how ridiculious is this Strandberg person and his followers. He's bought up numerous websites so that his followers can get updates during the Apocolypse!!!
Its the end of the world. What are they checking for? Next weeks weather!!!

The reporter is doing her job...she's reporting on a newsworthy subject that people are talking about--whether you agree with them or not. I don't believe she is writing from a Christian perspective, either.

The journalist was doing her job; she wrote about something that is called NEWSWORTHY because it is being talked about in many circles. She doesn't say she agrees...she's just reporting.

How sad a commentary. These so called Christians need to be called to the pulpit by all good Christians and exposed as the fear mongers and terrorists they are. Hateful cowards are not my brethren and are not the citizens I wish to consort with. The concepts of peace and love are simple and are the basis of Christ's word. The rest of this "theology" is babble by people who try to justify the evil in their hearts.

You've got to admit that this author's just publishing an interesting read. Don't bash her. At the same time as a Christian man myself, I have to admit that Obama has one thing in common with my image of the anti-Christ. He's charming and he has the ability to smoothly unite people of different backgrounds. Appropriate for today's era? Sure, but I just hope he's the right guy for the job. Moving on...

Have all you Republicans/religous finatic forgot that we still have a system of checks and balances ie CONGRESS?????? UMMMM HELLLO? Isnt he the one trying to get us out of war in the middle east? SOME OF YOU PEOPLE ARE NUTS! Still angry about the clinging to your religion and guns comments huh? Sadly enough its true! Obama is not the Messiah nor is he any type of religous figure, he is the next president of the US and a US citizen. This is a rediculous irresponsible article written by an unresponisble journalist. GET REAL!

  • Posted By: lanib054 @ 11/17/2008 2:49:38 AM

WHY would you even write such an article?? Mr. Obama was ELECTED to be our next president by people of all faiths.....including christians!! A true christian would not incite fear and hate, as you are doing. Not only are you being "un-christian" you are also being anti-american.

Rapture is a silly idea that was invented by a guy in Ireland in the 1840s. It has no biblical basis, (the rapture would mean that there is 3 comings of Christ, in the bible there is only 2...)

Will there be an anti-christ some day. Yeah. Is Obama him, well even if he was, how could we know now he hasnt even been in power as president yet. And I really doubt he is. If he starts eating babies and killing people on a whim well then maybe you'd have a good arguement. But really how could anyone judge his actions as president, when he hasnt done anything yet. He has stated his opinions, but his opinions can change, we cant know with 100% certanty how he will act as president. We can only guess, and to gossip and worry about what he will do is unchristian. As Christians we are called to be hopeful. We are called to be loving.

Will the whole end times thing happen. Yes. Will it be the way Hagge or the Left Behind books say it will. I really doubt it. Will there be an anti-christ, yes. But we dont know the day or hour. All we can do as Christians is joyfully wait Christ's return, and do his work. We are his body, and we must do his work . Protect human life, feed the poor, protect the underprivledged, work for peace, etc. We must pray, and we must be hopefull. We need to live with Christ as our friend and our Lord, we need to live in the Holy Spirit, for the Father. We should pray for the intercession of the Saints, and live out our faith.

St. Pio of Pietrelcina said "Pray, Hope and Don't Worry"

In the end God gets it all done, things work out for good. So keep your hope in Christ. And most importantly pray for our President Elect that God would always direct him towards right action and that Obama would always be open to God's guidence.

Omni Sancti et Sanctae, Ora pro eo.

I don't personally like Obama, but I hope he will be a good president, and will keep america moving in the right direction in the big picture. I really dont think he is the antichrist, if he is I would be a bit shocked, I just think he is a little to played up and will have a hard time fulfilling what people expect of him. I think he set the bar too high for himself. We will see though. I will pray for him. And when his sucessor is elected whether they happen to be (R) or (D) I will pray for them too. I don't know how a president could make it through his job without leaning on God's love.

Pray, Hope and Love. Its good stuff. And don't listen to the ridiculous stuff that comes out of some of those non-denominational "mega churches," most of it is silly, really it is. Its pop culture theology. For the most part Catholicism and Orthodoxy have focused on living for Christ and saying will worry about the anti-christ when he shows up. For now lets pray and serve God and our neighbor. Simple as that.

    So pray :-)

I am sitting at my computer rolling my eyes REPEATEDLY. Why would people waste time on writing or believing in this? Every person are allowed their own beliefs, but this will only fuel the anti-Obama campaign raging through this country. Racial tensions are high, and now religious ones? Shame on you for indulging Todd Strandberg! -Marianne

WHY would you even consider writing such an article? Mr. Obama has been elected by the people of our nation to be our next president. He was elected by christians and people of all faiths. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to incite people to believe in your anti-american trash.

The bible says it is going to happen. I think it also says that it can't be stopped. I fit myself into the category of Agnostic. Nothing year in the year 2000. Sadly maybe the calendar was wrong and we got 9/11/2001. Two days before my birthday. I am just going to wait until the Mayan 2012. I plan on living my life every day one after the next. until the "BIG EVENT" Stop freaking out and making others worse!

Obama triggers fear in me but not because he is the antiChrist. He scares me because he wants to sign FOCA into law which will overturn all restrictions on abortion, bring back partial birth abortion (which even abortionists say is never necessary), have federal funding of the murder of babies, and will void conscience clauses which means doctors will be forced to perform abortions, religious hospitals will be forced to act against the truths of their faith. All these actions are against the truths of the Christian faith. And although he sends his children to private schools he refuses to allow school vouchers so that poor children can attend private schools so he is a hypocrite. And I think our national security will go down the drain. These are some of the reasons he scares me.

    • Posted By: reinadelaz @ 11/17/2008 2:27:10 AM

Christians are not called to live in a spirit of fear, and the president cannot do the things you claim Obama will do unless he has the approval of congress. Educate yourself. You are making us look bad. God bless.

This is terrible - slander based on the worst aspects of what we humans do with religion. It also risks inciting "true believers" to violence. We should really work harder to counter this kind of religious extremism with healthier approaches towards religion.

As a Christian, I find it more than weird that so many "believers" spend so much of their energies being fearful and spend almost unlimited time trying to figure out when the End Times are. WE AREN'T SUPPOSED TO KNOW! Read the Bible, fearful ones. READ the book you say you love and live from. READ IT. Stop wasting time turning good, decent, responsible people like Barack Obama into some kind of devil. Rediculous trash! No wonder so many people who are not Christians think Christians are nincompoops. Christians who promote this kind of garbage hurt the cause of Christ more than anyone. I'm disgusted.

Oh, come on, we are now in the 21st century. Let's do try to rid ourselves of such superstitions. Why do Americans cling to these silly things while the rest of the developed nations have long since rid themselves of
religious interpretations for such things? It's no wonder that other nationalities just shake their heads in disbelief at so many things in America.

nonoyd, your wish will be granted. but you will not be pleased. trust in Jesus now. accept Him as your Savior now and become one of those "idiots" and you will never regret your choice. Living with God in eternity is going to be the most awesome experience you could ever have.

    • Posted By: bcch99 @ 11/15/2008 11:37:17 PM

Don't worry...it will happen. Are you willing to take a chance with your eternity? I will pray for your salvation.

Have you ever worried about all the pets left behind after the rapture? Here's a link for a pet babysitter that will take care of your pets after you ascend to heaven! I particularly love the rainbow and pitbull laden poster.

Ghandi said something very wise, "Jesus Christ, I like. His followers, I'm not so sure about." For those who believe, if you read the Bible, the Antichrist is supposed to come from the east, not the west. And "east" meaning, east of Israel. There's a big clue for you. Obama is from the west and he is Christian! People have been looking for the Antichrist and the End Times for so long now, it is equivalent to looking for the Boogey Man in the closet or under the bed. We are so ready for monsters aren't we? And yet the only monsters we have really found are the ones within ourselves.

wow...thanks for this story Lisa...and for making us Christians look like idiots to the rest of the world. To everyone reading this - there are a LOT of Christians that would laugh at this story just like me.
