Another reason to despise religion (aside from it starting wars, formenting ignorance, defying science, resisting progress, and let's not even start with religion's treatment of women... why are the pious so afraid of the birth canal??! Why are there no gods born from a woman?) is that people with religious beliefs are all too ready to share theirs with you, but have no desire to entertain your beliefs, or especially you lack of beliefs,

christ will never come. he never does. and the antichrist is a description for someone who causes war and brings suffering to the world. that would be george bush, the most recent in a long line of antichrists.

Man do I HATE religion. This dumb-ass article is precisely why. Religious nut-jobs will take any excuse to believe that God is "speaking directly to him". God will have told him that Obama should die. Newsweek, you have handed some violent religious retard a loaded gun. You should be ashamed. I don't pray, but I do hope. I hope that this article goes unnoticed. I hope the damage that it could cause does not happen. And I hope you really think about the power of words before you next put pen to paper.

Good point Lola, I thought God loves us all, supposedly. I totally agree with you, and well-written, btw. All I see from these religious fanatics is hate and bigotry. Why does anyone care what gays do as long as it doesn't harm anyone else? They have a right to love just as anyone. Or have they all forgotten about Human Rights and Civil Rights? While freedom on speech dictates people can think and say what they wish, except sedition or other exceptions, such speech does not have to be given credence or sanctioned by one of the world´s leading news sources.

There is always a fine line to censorship, but this article offers no opposing view and thereby gives tacit agreement to such an inflammatory premise.

The 2008 election spoke to healing our divisions and coming together as a country, that is why we were excited by the message of "Change," such a story does not help to fulfill the mandate of the people, and only adds to the divisiveness and fear mongering.

I hope that publications such as Newsweek will take care in whom they choose to give voice, and to include other opinions when publishing such inflammatory rhetoric.
