I heard that Ronald Wilson Reagan was the antichrist because his names all had six letters.
Do you understand what 'sarcasm' means?
That means you are still a baby. They said the same thing about Bill Clinton, may be that was the time whne you were just crawling.
You right wing evangelicals are all nut jobsQQQQ
When I read this article, I did a search on the net and came across the following article published in the Catholic New Times of May 18, 2003.
Pope fears Bush is antichrist, journalist contends
WASHINGTON DC -- According to freelance journalist Wayne Madsden, "George W Bush's blood lust, his repeated commitment to Christian beliefs and his constant references to 'evil doers,' in the eyes of many devout Catholic leaders, bear all the hallmarks of the one warned about in the Book of Revelations--the anti-Christ."
Madsen, a Washington-based writer and columnist, who often writes for Counterpunch, says that people close to the pope claim that amid these concerns, the pontiff wishes he was younger and in better health to confront the possibility that Bush may represent the person prophesized in Revelations. John Paul II has always believed the world was on the precipice of the final confrontation between Good and Evil as foretold in the New Testament.
Before he became pope, Karol Cardinal Wojtyla said, "We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of the American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel."
The pope worked tirelessly to convince leaders of nations on the UN Security Council to oppose Bush's war resolution on Iraq. Vatican sources claim they had not seen the pope more animated and determined since he fell ill to Parkinson's Disease. In the end, the pope did convince the leaders of Mexico, Chile, Cameroon and Guinea to oppose the U.S. resolution.
Madsen contends that "Bush is a dangerous right-wing ideologue who couples his political fanaticism with a neo-Christian blood cult."
What surprised me about the latest article on Barak Obama being the anti christ is that it was published by Newsweek. How can such a prestigious news magazine descend to such depths of journalistic trash?
this is a reply to Blue in AZ.... The bible states that the gospel will be preached in the four corners of the earth before the return of Christ . It is true that if people reject Christ Jesus they will be judged for that by him. John 4:16 I am the way the truth and the life noone noone comes to the father except by me....ACTS 4:12 There is no other name underheaven in which men must be saved .....There are 400 times in the holy bible that states that Jesus is the only way......Thank God that he will make sure that everyone will have the chance to hear about him... Then it is up to them to Repent, be baptizes in his name and filled with the holy ghost... (Acts 2:38) Believe!!!!!
The Earth is not flat, and therefore, does not have 4 corners.
What about people who die before they can "get to know him"? Do they get a get of hell free card? Or can they just change their mind after death? What a bunch of hooey.
Ir-responsible sensationalistic "journalism". Thanks for contributing to "The Lord of the Flies" mentality building up in this nation. So, this is what it means to put "country first".(insert sarcasm emoticon here).
There's nothing like contributing to "The Lord of the Flies" mentality building up in this nation. Thanks for putting country first (insert sarcasm emoticon here).
I couldn´t believe this when I read the firstlines of this article. I can´t belive that, even nowadays, could possible exist people that belives in such mith. I´m a brazillian, 25 years old, and I expect that Obama´s administration might lead the world to a new age of progress, where poverty be extremelly reduced, and wars do not exist; I Know that is a dream, but this dream would be possible if we - all nations of the world - stay togheter and work for it, because dreams are forged with hard working, and it is the soul of the transformation on reality. I ask apologies if I wrote some words wrong ok. But I think that, more importante than grammar mistakes, is the maim idea expressed on it.
Keep working America. Keep dreaming.

the number has actually been determined to be 616 NOT 666. ut, mythology really doesn't matter and it is astounding ignorance to even talk about this with any degree of seriousness.
Certainly there are some who interpret the number of the beast to 616...but by no means has it "actually been determined". Please give a citation for your statement.
Type in "Dave MacPherson" on Rapture Ready's "search" line and discover that Strandberg and his fellow traffickers of the 178-year-old "pre-tribulation rapture" seem to view that bestselling prophecy author as the Antichrist or his stand-in! This is their collective riposte to his web items including "The Rapture Index (Mad Theology)," "Open Letter to Todd Strandberg" and "Deceiving and Being Deceived." LouNor
Religion has no place in politics. Incessant fear mongering keeps the ignorant masses controlled, unable to think nor reason for themselves. A lottery ticket with the number 666, oh brother. Ooooh, that's a sure sign - of sheer unadulterated paranoid ignorance. Oh please. The only antichrist I see are the corrupt religious institutions and pedophilic priests- now that's evil. Tax the churches if they become political! Those funds could be put to better use, like funding education and pediatric health care.
I grew up in a baptist church. Everyone that's not a white protestant christian looks like the anti-christ to some of those people.
Is this story for real? Is this journalism? Has the author, for example, determined that there was nowhere else in the country where "666" was a winning lottery number in November? This article is inflammatory, in my opinion, and will only sow unwarranted fear. I thought that Christians were supposed to be about loving others, or at least loving other Christians? This story is unbelievable at a number of different levels. It makes Christians look superstitious and uneducated.
10 years from now, long after Obama has retired from the presidency, people will look back at this and laugh. It's just more hype and more mindless entertainment for the uneducated.

Gee, for Believers, shouldn't it be "UN-fasten your seatbelts"?

As to the person who said that the comedians claim there is nothing to mock about Obama...as someone who researches mass media for a living, let me point out that if they DID mock him, they would be accused of racisms. None of the media outlets are game to be overly critical toward Obama because they are afraid of the Democratic party playing the race card.
Here we go. Comedians have said they have nothing to mock about Obama because he seems to be devoid of all the typical character flaws they pick upon - his speech is eloquent, he is very intelligent and he doesn't trip over things. Maybe they can now use the antichrist remarks to develop material from. I can see it now on SNL. Barack is in for a haircut (Cedric the Entertainer as barber) in the south Chicago barbershop featured in the movie Barbershop. Cedric is cutting his hair and says, "Damn Barack, somebody done carved 999 in your scalp! It's kinda hard to read with you standing on your head though!"
After reading all of the comments, what strikes me most is the number of people who apparently need to return to 3-4th grade and work on their READING COMPREHENSION skills! (1) Todd Strandberg doesn't say that Ob is the Antichrist...in fact he says the OPPOSITE (for those of you who are reading impared that means that he does NOT think Ob is the AC). (2) The article actually denegrates Christians (again, for those of you with less than stellar reading skills, denegrating is a BAD thing, kind of like making fun of something). (3) it is the AUTHOR (yes, Ms. Miller) who made the suggestion about OB being the AC (look at the headline).
Are there Christians out there who think that Ob is AC, probably. But to that end, there are Muslims who think that he is the last immam who will usher in the end of the world. However, you don't hear much about that because hey! At least in the US it is MUCH more fun to poke fun at Christians, when Muslims hold many of the same beliefs regarding the end times!
As for me, I am a Christian who does not believe Obama is the Antichrist or anything like it. I think he is a liar who can't keep his stories straight...but then again, he is a politician and politicians (regardless of what party they are in) will tell the public anything they want to hear as long as it will get them elected. I don't worry too much about anything Obama promised, as most of it he will be unable to do because thanks to the bailout, there will be NO money in the coffers (fancy word for piggybanks for our reading comprehension challenged friends out there) to actually DO anything.
