I am a God of love, not war. Mankind themselves make the choices, and decisions to kill. We all possess, both good, and evil within ourselves. The opposite of love, is hate. We are all blessed with free will. How we use it , is entirely up to us. We access Christ, or anti-christ through free will.

Well, this is all we need. Now extremist religious conservatives will see 666 everytime Obama trys to conduct the business of our country. Has anyone checked his scalp? I realize this is probably a valid news story since someone has raised the issue, but come on! This is all some people will need to demonize the man. The comics have said there is nothing to mock about Obama, so perhaps this will provide a point of discussion for everyone to focus on.

Few weeks ago, I had received an email warning me that Obama was dangerous, a socialist, a closet muslim and a liberal. The email had a link to a photo of Obama's younger days with a turban. There was a reference to some biblical or Nostradamus quote that a man with turban would rise to lead the strongest army and destroy the world. I had the best laugh of the day. I responded to all my friends by email highlighting my suspicion that this was the work of fundamentalist conservative of so called christians. Now, Lisa Miller has given me the confirmation with this article. Thanks.

No true Christian would include nostradamus in any quote. I suspect that email was written by a non-Christian. You can't believe everything you read!

      I received a similar email.

This never should have been published. How totally irresponsible of Newsweek. Way to stoke the fires of hate from the extreme right. You do not give credence to totally insane ideas like this, especially in light of the fact that Obama has been the target of threats already.

This article should never have been published -- you do not give credence to these kinds of ridiculous ideas. Way to stoke the fires of hatred from the extreme right, Newsweek. I'm canceling my subscription. How totally irresponsible.

This is the downside of freedom of speech. Just like the aimless ramblings of holocost deniers and white supremists this type of thinking is protected. You have to feel bad for these poor poor people wasting away their lives when they could be doing true christan work. Some christans remember the words of christ about taking care of the poor and helplss. Perhaps we could find someplace for end of world folk to go...lets see they are looking for a totalitarian theocracy (kinda what they thought they were going to get with bush)..Ive got it they can go to iran, iraq, or syria.

For the record, Todd did not say Obama was the anti-Christ. In fact, an article with a list of people who were once thought of holding that title is on his web site.
    http://www.raptureready.com/rr-antichrist.html

Most Christian don't believe this man to be much of anything important, but don't agree with his views on abortion, and other moral views. (or lack there of)

However, for those who mock Christians who believe the bible to be true, by all means keep mocking. It's an encouragement to us, as Jesus said it would happen, as well as many of the events that are occuring in our world today.

How about Dubya as the Antichrist? He gets my vote. No wait...Cheney! Yeah, he's the one. Maybe Rove, there's just soooo many to choose from.

Get over it. it's just an article to pique the reader's interest, and look, it worked. Go lend a hand to someone in need and tell them that God loves them.

This article is right up there with the National Enquirers work. This is all the whack-jobs need to read. What a shame you printed this drivel.

my God, this article putting forth religious insanity is in Newsweek! This religious fanatic writer is a Newsweek editor! I have alway bought and read Newsweek but I never will again. You should be ashamed for giving such hateful insanity a platform.

How did this end up in a respectable magazine like Newsweek? That the candidate who suggests we should take better care of each other, our soldiers, and our God given planet has been branded the Antichrist is just one more example of the conservative movement bending the ideals of Christianity to suit its own petty, political goals.

Well, my lawyer, Mr. Hankey (t.c.p.) told me to plead the 5th in response to this post, but since I'm a no-holds-barred gen. x...er, I would agree that Obama may in fact be the evil "one" . No wait, it's Arnold Schwarzenegger (who by the way has about 666 letters in his last name) or someone rising up out of the RRR (Revived Roman Empire). Anyway, I digress. The point is to read, watch, speak about what is written(Revelation 1:3) and get our own selves right before God (not that we ever will, but we can at least die trying)....not to get everyone else right, though we are supposed to help one another to steer away from the path of sin (Galatians 6:1). Yes, I am one of those "weak" people who just love loves Jesus and all that He represents. But, hey, let Obama's rise to glory (again I'm not saying that he's Satan) be a warning to everyone. What I do know is that he represents the kind of weaknesses we all have in putting a man (aside from "the man" who was God and came in human flesh to save us from condemnation a.k.a Jesus the Christ) on a pedestal and thinking that he/she (just to cover the bases for any Palin/Hillary supporters) will bring world peace, end all hunger and cure all diseases. Obama most certainly will not do this, but alas, if he does, he's in the running to be incarnated by Lucifer. Then again, what do I know, apparently my daddy is Darth Vader (I was pulling for Bill Gates) according to one of those online survey spam thingies. In summary, we've all just got to eat our wheaties like Hulk Hogan says (oh my goodness, he could be the dark lord), say our prayers (including praying for the salvation of our enemies because life - even in heaven - wouldn't be as fun without nemeses) and hope that we all really ARE a half hour in heaven before the devil knows we're dead because "as it is written, "Not even one person is righteous" (Romans 3:10). Whew, thank goodness that Christ died for us so that we who believe in Him (read the bible for more info. on eternal salvation, I'm just giving you the Coles notes version) can be in heaven staring at one another going, "wow, I'm really here!" Be blessed, read the bible, love the Lord and one another. Love you! P.S. I'm not Paris Hilton just because I said "love you".

We should fear Todd Strandberg. With so many suffering in the world, he is an absolute moron to rant about the end of the world. I am sure that any benevolent creator would prefer he spend his time being kind and constructive; volunteering time to help those in need and working for good. Yet he wastes it acusing people of being the antichrist. In this economy, I just haven't the time to waste being unproductive and hateful, guess that makes one of us...

  • Posted By: anonyjane @ 11/16/2008 1:51:23 AM

Are you aware of what a moron you are?

People are crazy. Christ was a unique figure and a good man, but this rising from the dead is a bit far fetched . When he supposedly rose from the dead , its not like it was on CNN or Fox News. Its stories from people who thought the earth was flat , thunder was Gods' anger , and if rain wiped out a village , it must have been God's will because they were sinners. Now be kind to your fellow man , but folks , The idea that Jesus Christ actually rose from the dead is a hard sell. There are six billion people on earth. Good people who are never exposed to Christainity are going to hell ? There is no hell. Thier is no Devil. Those were all 1st century fables from people living in an almost prehistoric age .. Respectfully I say please "Get Real" Anyone who believes the World will end in thier lifetime do us a favor , get out of goverment , we dont need any politicians that believe in end times . Thats not exactly the goal we are trying to achieve.. We are trying to make the world a better place. No Raptue people are needed.

This is so much bullshit. Simply because he is black, intelligent, and hasn't made any major mistakes, he has to be the antichrist. Grow up White America. He is a nice guy who happens to be black,, intelligent and well qualified for the presidency.
