Thank you Ms. Miler. By giving credence to the psychologically impaired by writing this "piece" you have helped expand ignorance and fear and encourage the foolish peons who believe in such nonsense. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion but I'm surprised that newsweek allowed such fluff to be published here - it belongs in the Enquirer, and maybe even they would have the decency not to publish this. And just because you have an opinion, this being based on some fantasy belief of a so called anti-christ, doesn't mean that people with sense, logic, or the barest intellect should respect it. I respect the right to an opinion but not the opinion, which is some religiously charged stab at Obama. What is wrong with you people? Don't you have even a tiny bit of decency? Since you wrote this, I guess not. Thanks for making America just a little worse to live in.

I'm 42 years old and the product of a white, conservative, evangelical upbringing. In my lifetime a number of possible candidates have been proffred as the "Anti-Christ". Examples include: Anwar Sadat, Pope John Paul II, and Leonid Breshnev. All three are dead, gone, and never materialized as being anything more than opponents of the values white, conservative evangelicals. It hardly suprises me that a black man being elected to the highest office in the free world is the current candidate. Obama will come, go, and will leave his mark on the U.S. and the world. It won't be the mark of the beast.
As my more rational Christian friends say, concern yourselves with Christ's First Coming. Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, provide for widows and orphans. That is something you can do something about. The Second Coming is something you cannot.

If more Christians, or people of any religion for that matter, thought like this, not only would those of us who do not believe in religion or gods be more than happy to leave you to your beliefs without the slightest contempt, you would find us even supporting you and your actions. The world would be a MUCH better place (and not to mention you would end up converting many more people to follow Christianity).

Just when I decided to subscribe to Newsweek I come up on this garbage! How irresponsible of this author to put these words on paper! We keep reading how much more at risk Obama is and then she has this crap which is like raw meat to wild animals! Come on now!

Amen. All those Palin voters who screamed horrible things about Obama don't need any more encouraging to kill, kill, kill for Jesus.

No one here has mocked God. Some have commented on the name-calling you end-of-worlders insist upon doing; today so-and-so is the anti-christ, tomorrow it will be someone else. On an on, ad nauseum. You are the false prophets the Bible talks about. You are a mere mortal, noe of you have special powers into God's mind, just because you say you do doesn't mean you do. Wake up and open your eyes. Let the scales fall from them as they did from Paul's eyes on the road to Damascus. God is alive and well, but I bet He doesn't like how you end-of-worlders make false prophets of yourself and mock him.

Just that fact that many of you here are mocking God and the End Times fulfills Scripture which states:
    2 Peter 3:3-4

.. knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, , and saying, ???Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.???

You are quite free to mock all you want, the Creator of heaven and earth forces Himself on no one. He will also not force Himself on you in eternity after you leave this world, if you want no part of Him now..He will simply give you your wish ..and you will have all eternity to ponder and suffer the fact you rejected His love. Life is short....eternity lasts forever.

Having grown up in a conservative Christian home, I understand this kind of thinking. What I have come to understand is that this kind of thinking simply discredits the conserative Christian cause in paraticular and Christianity in general. The more fearful one becomes, the greater the hope to soon leave this world. Strange that a perfectly loving omniscient God would create a world, knowing the course it would take, that we would then want to leave. I vote for embracing God's world - and our president elect. Try a prayer of wise support rather than one of suspicion or escapism.

Just another example of how and why religion is dangerous and an outdated, rediculous, pathetic myth. This is exactly why, as much as I and others try to let people simply believe what they want because "What harm can it be?", that people fight against religion. How in the world can you think that by allowing others freedoms that have no affect on you and nothing to do with you, can you think that that is the beginning of your enslavement? Get a clue, get an education, think, be even slightly rational and leave these dangerous fairytales in the past where they belong. And if 1/3 of white evangelicals think that the end of the world will come in their lifetime, I challenge them to leave a will naming a secular charity of their choice as beneficiary as a showing of their "faith" that they truly are willing to put their money where their screwed up faith is.

Comment: I am sorry that you have met people who claim to be christian, but certainly if they are full of hate they are not. You will know a true christian when you meet them, because we are full of Gods love. That does not make us perfect, if we were we would not need Jesus. Jesus proclaimed that to fulfill the commandments we should love God with all our heart , mind and soul, and similarly to love our neighbors as ourselves. You will know a true christian when you meet one, they are kind, loving and trustworthy (We answer to a higher authority on everythng we do and if we are going astray we are convicted by the Holy Spirit). I have concerns as well about the president elect, because of how he misrepresented scripture from the bible and his associations. I have also never heard any nominee ever say "A light will shine upon you, and you will have an epiphany, any you will say that I have to vote for Barack Obama", Barack Obama said this on the campaign trail. I am concerned that people will be fooled and lost as they worry about their pocketbooks and trust in man instead of God to save them. I love people no matter their skin color, religious belif, or culture. I don't know why people beat up true christianity or say they fear christians, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only one that teaches love, forgiveness, and honesty. I am saddenned by the comments I see here and I guess it is, because the people that feel they are more intelligent than christians have not felt the need to educate themselves by reading the Bible to understand what they are judging. There will always be people that proclaim to be something that they are not, but if you understand the Gospel of Jesus you would not fear a true christian. I did not see anything that represented hatred or an incitation of violence in this article only another perspective of what you should concern yourself to research. True christians are praying for President elect Obama, because that is what our Lord taught us to do(To pray for our leaders and those that govern us) even if they do not hold the same beleifs as us. By the way Christians pray for their enemies as well, because we love everyone as it is commanded.

Lesson #1 - The AntiChrist will be the first leader of the world, i.e. the New World Order. As such, he will be the "first" king. The global financial system is being used to drive the nations of the world towards this reorganization of the nations into the NWO. The False Prophet will most likely arise in the middle East. The Beast will rise up first to fight for the Lord. These three will be God's servants, sent in these perilous times, just as Saul a persecutor of Christians, was turned to God's will on the road to Damascus and sent to organize the Church. The time draws near. The number 666 is the number of the "King", still far into the future. The Lord will return as the 666th "king' of this world in about 30,000 years. In the meantime, the gates of hell will appear in the heavens above us. Mankind is not alone in this universe. So we had better learn to get along with each other - all of us on this earth.

Finally someone who reads the Bible! If you are a true believer and follower of Christ, then you know that when the anitchrist comes, it will be after Christ comes back for the second coming and we christians will ascend with Him. The ones left who have rejected Christ will have a second chance to accept Him and this is when the antichrist will be here. So, the second coming of Christ has not taken place yet, therefore, no antichrist...yet. He may have messengers here now, but no antichrist yet. And if you are a christian you would not be worrying about this anyway. We should be praying for Obama to seek God for guidance and I believe he will. This article is a disgrace to our nation and shows the ignorance of so-called christians! Pray for our nation and pray for our President. He is just a man who has been given by the people, an opportunity to lead us out of the total screw-up of the Bush administration. And in case you didn't realize it, God is in control of everything. He doesn't make mistakes. God speed Obama.

I think what has given most Bible prophecy watchers considerable pause is the bizarre level of adulation given to this man, a man who has accomplished nothing. It's as if his followers have made a religion out of him. It has creeped me out watching the zombie-like looks on the faces of his followers as he gives a speech. Some of them appear to be in a trance-like state. I've never witnessed such out-there behavior towards a politician. I don't know if he's the antichrist but he is definitely an antichrist.

divinely speaking, you are quite the Sherlock Holmes! However, you should know that "fundamentalist conservative of so called christians" do not consider Nostradamus to be a prophet nor do they regard anything he wrote. Get a clue.

I am a devout Catholic and are taught that we do not know when the end times are. Only God knows that. I didn't vote for Obama and am disgusted with the mindless adoration people show the man, however I would be very careful as to label anyone as the anti-Christ. I believe him to be dangerous because of his radical stance on abortion and the fact that he has absolutely no experience to run the greatest nation in the world. We've

1 Samuel 15:3---Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Deuteronomy 3:1-7-- "Next we headed for the land of Bashan, where King Og and his army attacked us at Edrei. But the LORD told me, 'Do not be afraid of him, for I have given you victory over Og and his army, giving you his entire land. Treat him just as you treated King Sihon of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon.' So the LORD our God handed King Og and all his people over to us, and we killed them all. We conquered all sixty of his towns, the entire Argob region in his kingdom of Bashan. These were all fortified cities with high walls and barred gates. We also took many unwalled villages at the same time. We completely destroyed the kingdom of Bashan, just as we had destroyed King Sihon of Heshbon. We destroyed all the people in every town we conquered ??? men, women, and children alike. But we kept all the livestock for ourselves and took plunder from all the towns."

Mindless, like those who voted for Bush? I think not. I voted for Obama very much *because* of his mind. Can anyone say that of Bush? If you don't agree with his stance on abortion, fine, but in the 6 years that Washington was controlled by republicans, they didn't remove abortion rights. Experience? John McCain had absolutely zip experience being president. And Palin? She remains a joke.

Obama has the following he has, not because we are mindless, but because we were finally able to wake up from a republican-induced stupor that allowed those in highest office to lie to the public. He has the following because we are, finally, very MUCH mindfull of who and what we have in positions of power in this country--and that certainly shouldn't have been the Rovean/Bush regime.

In America, it's the Christian fanatics who are the false prophets and the anti-Christ. Honestly. Who can't wait for this latest bizarre fanatical religous fervor in America to go away? Every 60 years or so, our country goes through this crazy crap. These nuts are actually anti-science, but note, if they get sick, off they rush to the doctor!

The "antiChrist"? Really?? I am sure there are worse days (unfortunately) and sweeter talkers (for sure) who will arrive on the earthly scene in the future than the very talented, very intelligent, but very human, President-elect Obama. I think we need to spend a lot more time helping out our neighbors in need than "worrying" about this....
