      Besides, it's pretty clear that it George W Bush is the antichrist. At least he has been determined to bring about the end of the world as we know it.

    dear tonopah87 it is so sad that people like you will go to hell just because you have so much pride and wont even give God a chance. Why not? It's better to give him a chance and be right than NOT give him a chance and be wrong. Will you read a book, "23 minutes in hell" by Bill Weiss? then make a decision? This so called 'book' as you call it has been around for years and if you were to actually read it you could not deny it because the things in it are happening each and every day. Just remember this if you are still alive, if Russia and many of their allies attack Israel: that is in the Bible. (and YES it will come to pass as many other prophecies have)

      So, what you are saying is that we should all believe just in case? If I were God, I'd be pretty pissed off that people were just believing in me out of fear. That doesn't sound very faithful. I can hear it from the pulpit now, "Just say you believe! It doesn't matter if you really do!"

    Actually Roman emperors were given a number (and symbol) to represent them. Nero who was a horrilble man and ruler was given the number 666. the number is today thought to represent the anti- christ who was not actually Nero although he was truely awful.This happened during the Old Testament times

    Not much depth to this article. When Jesus returns, he will not be "sweet-talking" rather he will judge rightous judgment, and no flowery words like Mr. Obama used to fool people.

    I'm absolutely amazed, astonished, and stunned that a supposedly reputable publication, Newsweek, would publish this article. It's dripping with ignorance and paranoia meant to incite fear, violence and hatred. Newsweek has badly damaged its own reputation.

    It is this kind of baseless commentary by irresponsible journalists that is adding fuel to the imagination of the ignorant masses. I would hope that Newsweek would issue a formal rebuttal to this very insensitive article. There are masses of ignorant religious right thinking people who are walking around with these hateful thoughts. Why have we become a nation of fear and hate? This is intellectual bondage and we need to free ourselves of this ignorance.

    For God sakes we have a new President who is a God fearing decent man and we need to get behind him and re-build this country from the inside out. Can we please stop the rhetoric and turn the page for the good of the country?

    absolutely ridiculous. Do these religious fanatics have nothing better to do? Obviously they don't. They sit around and worry about a 'book', actually stories written 2,000 years ago by primitve people. What is wrong with this picture???
    There is no 'antichrist, no devil, no hell, no heaven. Get over people. You are going to die someday. There isn't a special place up in the air that you will fly off to when you die. Why is it that heaven and Santa claus have so muchin common? Hmm. Let's review. When you are really, really good, at the 'end of your life' you get a reward. Eternal life! When you are really, really good at the end of the year, you get a reward. Presents from Santa Claus!!

    This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, everybody who has ever read a left behind book or watched the movies knows that the antichrist is European, Barack Obama is an intelligent biracial man who is married to a lovely pull no punches woman, and some in America are afraid of the unknown and afraid of change, so these types of absurdity become prevalent...do me a favor and stop the hating and pray for our president
