    I would say that most Christians don't presume to know exactly what God has planned. They just aren't so prideful as to believe that they know what books of the Bible they should read and which ones they shouldn't.

    I would disagree with Staver, these people are nuts.
    One of the most obvious things about Evangelicals; besides spending a lot of time predicting the end is they have no real concept of time.
    Having condensed the billions of years this planet has been evolving into a beginning 10,000 years ago and an imminent end.
    They have no real grasp of the reality of life on earth only some self centered concept they know what God is doing and thinking.
    The book of Revelations should never have been part of the bible. It has nothing to add to Christianity except a few nightmares that evangelicals relish greatly.
    Just because a lot of people enjoy trying to make those nightmares reality does not make it sane.

      The one-drop rule is a historical colloquial term in the United States that holds that a person with any trace of African ancestry is considered black unless having an alternative non-white ancestry which he or she can claim, such as Native American, Asian, Arab, or Australian aboriginal.

    What's even more amazing to me is that nobody could see the anti-christ in Bush! He's the one that started us down this road. But as you so eloquently put it in your last paragraph each one of us better make sure that "We" are saved. If Bush crashing the stock market, plunging us into war and generaly just letting the whole economy go down the drain didn't upset the conservative Christians then I don't know what they are looking for? It's really just a stero-typical fear of the "Black Man period!

    Are these the same people who said he would swear in on the Koran??? Look, I am of the Christian faith, teach Sunday School every Sunday morning, and am very active in the youth programs at our church. However this is too much.
    It is no different than Anne Coulter saying the other day that she hopes Obama's financial plan either falls miserably, or he flip floops on it. Just another way for the Religious Right to try to have their way.

The Christians do more harm to Christianity than all the atheists and non-Christians combined just by opening up their mouths on idiocy like this. They are as helpful to Jesus teachings as Wall Street and Washington have been to Capitalism under Bush and company. Not very.     nobody really knows exactly how events will unfold some believe in the pre- tribulation rapture , some believe in a post-tribulation rapture some christians do not even believe there will be a rapture and we will all go through the tribulation
    there is also different opinions on the events that will lead up to the return of christ some believe events have already taken place some believe that they have not occured yet.
    there are different interpretations (and because human beings are not all wise and do not have Gods wisdom)i dont think any end time interpretation will be 100% accurate .
    well just have to wait and see

    You people are endlessly fascinating and amusing. And your seriousness and self-assurace are the icing on the cake. However, you are also very depressing. Change a few names, locations and facts and your stories are probably very similar to those told around stone age camp fires. Unfortunately, we live in the 21st century with serious 21st century problems and while some of the basic tenets of many religions might set some important basic ground rules, success will require 21st century solutions. And while I agree we are running out of time, your fantasies only distract and waste resources.

    John Quincy Adams has been one of my favorite Presidents since I first took an American history class at the college level. The more I learn about him and his parents, the more impressed I am.
