One thing I can say, despite the "change and hope" song Obama had been singing for a year, there will be politics as usual in Washington. Just look at his cabinet appointments, all old-timers. He could at least try to find a green, so called "untainted" one like himself.

It's not easy losing,. is it? Better get use to it!

It's funny some people get so emotionally attached with a candidate's losing or winning. You people should be more emotionally attached to your own economic situation or other much less fortunate people and children who are starving world wide! Do I care if McCain or Obama wins or loses. Take a wild guess. Last I check these guys are both millionaires. Loser goes back to being millionaire. Winner gets to do more sing and dance. Neither guy is hurting a whole lot. But one thing is certain. The songs are pretty much the same with the same singers, and that's bad news for us, the people. Hillary for Secretary of State, Daschel (sp?) for Health and Human Services? The only thing less scary is the reverse of those roles. Who's next, Bill Clinton as ambassdor to UN?

You thought he would use the republican method of picking names out of a hat/ I'm sorry. I'm just funning you. It's got to be heart wrenching to watch your candidate go down in flames closely followed by your party.

Heh. The irony is too ''Rich'' [with surly apologies to the new AG,Holder], to ignore.

Through the last eight years we have been regaled with the accuasations from liberals that Bush and his administration at large, was in ''bed with the Arabs''.

Yet it turns out that Bush made not a dime off of said Arabs, and made none off of ''HALLIBURTON'' either.

We have one faction now enconsed in Washington with George Soros fingerprints all over it. [The Center for American Progress, who has given up frontman John Podesta to the new administration,is one of Soros'527 PACS]. Soros is one of the largest single owners in the world ,vastly eclipsing Cheney,of HALLIBURTON,at the personal ownership of over two million shares in this corporation.
The Clintons are another story. These are the nations [New York Times Nov.12,2008] who have shelled out hundreds of millions to this outfit:

    The UAR

    Bahrain

    Kuwait

    Kazakstan

    Saudi Arabia

    Qatar

    Morocco

    Oman

Oil sheikhs, crown princes, heads of state...Arabs. What will their influence buy under a Hillary State Dept.?

The Federal Election Commission www.fec.gov [Bush Financial Disclosures]

The Internal Revenue Service www.irs.gov [Bush Financial Disclosures]

The Center for Responsive Politics www.opensecrets.org Soros,George.

On November 15,2008,Bill Clinton gave a speech that briefly dwelt upon his wifes chances of becoming Sec.of State. This speech was given....in Kuwait. [C-SPAN 2 Nov.17,2008].

Hi lee, today John Kerry was chosen to take over VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN's Chairmanship of the Senate Armed Services Committee. I'll fill you in tomorrow on some of the new Cabinet members that PRESIDENT OBAMA has chosen. Bidens seat had to be filled on the committee because VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN will not be available until 2016.

  • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 11/19/2008 3:20:51 PM

Fellow Democrats and most revered independents, have you any idea how enjoyable it's going to be visiting the blogs everyday to discuss the new Cabinet and then updating the Republicans on the real news of the day? To be able to give them something they can't get from Fox news, a step by step progress report on how the Country is being bought back from the brink of the Republican disaster? Well, i'd say it's Miller Time! let's hold one up to our new President, Barack Obama. .C.U. later gator!

To give a job as important as Secretary of State to someone like Hillary Clinton, whose personal ambitions are number one on her agenda rather then the welfare of a nation, would be a mistake.
It's hard enough for Condi Rice to deal with the Middle Eastern view of woman, without having someone in office as pushy and bi#chy as Hillary.
In fact, what's wrong with keeping Condi on? She seems to be doing a fine job.

If Clinton has to have a bone tossed to her as a peace offering, how about Secretary of Agriculture, or Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, or even Secretary of Education? I don't think she or Bill could stir up much trouble in those fields.

    • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 11/19/2008 9:02:18 AM

First you suggest that the job isn't for a woman, then you say Rice should stay on because she's doing a great job .Except for the fact that "Condi' was in on the manufacturing of evidence and the ensuing cover up that has us at war in the Middle East, she'd be great. Get Real!

      • Posted By: rjones @ 11/19/2008 3:19:27 PM

I didn't say the job isn't for WOMEN, I said the job is wrong for Hillary.. Dealing with foreign relations needs to inspire trust, tact and diplomacy, and sometimes you may have to kiss a little a$$ instead of threatening to kick a$$ if you can't get what you want. Look where our current administration's cowboy hot-shot, shoot-first and ask questions later mentality has gotten us in the eyes of the world. Hillary's "Someday I'll be Prez and you'll be sorry" fake smile surely doesn't invoke any sense of trust.

And as for Rice, she was only doing what her boss made her do. At least she's loyal, respected and well-liked throughout the world unlike Clinton who's only fans seem to be a certain core of woman who imediately jumped-ship and voted for Palin, once Hillary conceded the Presidental bid.

BTW, before you accuse me of being neo-Con, I've been voting stright Dem since '68.

Why don't we see the referrences to Ayers and Rezko anymore. If they had any truth to them wouldn't the righties be still harping on them? They were phony from the beginning and failed to gain anything for the Republicans. Maybe they were getting tired of the rebuttal including a long, long list of dispicable characters the Republicans bed down with?

Hitler is the worst. Those who compare Obama to this murderer have no idea how insane that is. They never encountered him...my family members did in Italy in WWII. He had my uncle and cousin shot.

      • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 11/19/2008 2:48:43 PM

Obama being accused of having given Hillary the finger when all he did was scratch his nose. Remember how long that went on for? Several weeks..it was ridiculous.

  • Posted By: marley07 @ 11/19/2008 11:05:27 AM

Go figure people would support the Clintons. Someone who flat out point his finger at the TV talking to the country saying "I did not have sexual relations with that women." The point was not the multiple affairs, the point is that this country was ok with him lying to our face. Then you have his wife who supports it. So lets make sure they are a part of our leadership. It will fit perfect with Obama's admin.

    • Posted By: McLovinB @ 11/19/2008 11:49:51 AM

You know, I have always felt that if you ask someone a question that is none of your business, you deserve the answer you get.

On the other hand, if a group of people tells you repeatedly that a group of people in a sovereign country DEFINITELY has horrible weapons and UNDENIABLY intends to use them on us and UNQUESTIONABLY needs to be destroyed along with their entire nation IMMEDIATELY, well, I don't think anyone deserved that.
There it is, 20 20 hindsight. I wish to God I had seen it coming sooner.

      • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 11/19/2008 2:46:21 PM

Yes definitely. I too feel that Pres. Clinton should have never been asked the question about Monica. That was a personal matter between him and his family. Totally none of our business, he did not break any laws. Now if her were beating her, molesting a child etc, then yes it is definitely the nations business.

Nothing that Bill Clinton did can compare to Bush!

    • Posted By: summer4077 @ 11/19/2008 11:25:21 AM

Were you a Bush supporter? Talk about lying to our faces! Oh and yes, I know it's cheesy but I must evoke the bumper sticker..."No one died when Clinton lied." I could care less what my President does in the bedroom as long as the country hums along nicely. Many of our greatest Presidents were unfaithful to their wives. Immoral, yes, but no indication of great leadership.

      • Posted By: Abots22 @ 11/19/2008 11:41:37 AM

So you are saying it doesn't matter how moral our leader is, just so long as there isn't war and the economy "hums". This is precisely what is wrong. Respectable leaders breed respectable countries...not the other way around.

There are a lot of immoral leaders in the world today. If this country has a moral leader it will certainly lead to conflict and yes, even war. If you do not like this concept then I suggest you move to Switerland, Canada, or any other country that follows instead of leads.

        • Posted By: summer4077 @ 11/19/2008 12:56:24 PM

So you think Bush is a moral leader? Lying to the world about WMDs, invading Iraq, imprisoning hundreds for 6 years without charges, turning his back on the citizens of an AMERICAN city...yeah, really moral. Oh and if you want to talk morals...other than the lying, Bush never came clean about his drug use and was an admitted alcoholic. Clinton was not perfect, but I do believe he has his heart in the right place. He genuinely cares about people, as does Hillary. Obama is the same way, without the scandals, which is why he'll be a great leader. Leading does NOT mean war mongering. Leading a country means actually doing something to better the country for its citizens. Newsweek reported pools opening in Iraq, and my local paper just announced the shuttering of 17 rec centers. Seems our "moral" leader cares about the wrong people.

        • Posted By: not-fooled-by-slick-talking-charlatans @ 11/19/2008 12:43:45 PM

America does have moral leaders. They are called "Parents".

        • Posted By: McLovinB @ 11/19/2008 11:58:20 AM

Many people of the world are deathly afraid of an extremist religion taking over a major nuclear power... the US.
Many of them would think that morality has a lot to do with concepts like "love thy neighbor" and peaceful resolution of conflict. Switzerland and Canada and countries that have renounced war are likely to emerge as winners and leaders of a better world. Will America follow?

  • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 11/19/2008 2:01:40 PM

When all is said and done, only one word is needed to describe the Republicans ansd the Bush presidency. FAILURE.

  • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 11/19/2008 12:20:01 PM

marley07, Bill Clinton turned deficit into surplus and prosperity. Bush turned surplus and prosperity into deficit and recession. That's why Bill Clinton is revered as a leader and Bush has a unfavorable rating of 72%.

If you live in this country, you know the American people and Hillary were not "ok" with Clinton's adultery. We don't punish adultery severly here. if we did, we'd need a prison on every corner.

    • Posted By: brydges @ 11/19/2008 12:46:47 PM

You can't rewrite history - Clinton left bush with a recession which he turned around despite the 911 attacks - you should write for newsweek they apreciate unintelligent editorials

      • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 11/19/2008 1:50:42 PM

The 72% unfavorable rating must be a reverse form of congratulations for a mission accomplished! All of this time i thought it was a critique on his mishandling of the War, our Financial policy and our foriegn policy. 72% of the people think he failed. Thanks for straightening thing out. You're on of the 28% who just can't admit failure.

      • Posted By: summer4077 @ 11/19/2008 12:51:37 PM

As an editorial I read recently put it..."It's like trying to convince a meth tweaker that the shadow people aren't real." There's no point in trying to convince you that Bush has been a terrible president. There will always be people like you that value intolerance so much that it taints your views on reality.

  • Posted By: RobWarwick @ 11/19/2008 1:46:39 PM

I cant even read the article after reading the title.....I'm so sick of this "how do you control the clintons" and "how much trouble will the cause Obama" etc, etc, etc. What a bunch of media BS. It's AMAZING how badly the media detests the Clintons. They can't get out of their own way in trying to take shots at these two.

    GET OVER IT. sheesh.

If Bill subscribes to a small portion of Mr. Quigley's assertions, WE AS AMERICANS, should work our hardest to make sure that, Bill Clinton, out of all people, SHOULDN'T HOLD ANOTHER GOVERNMENT/FEDERAL JOB...

You are absolutely correct in your analysis of this situation. The Secretary of State position is definitely an opportunity for HRC. But, if she thinks that means she's going to set her own agenda, as you warn her, she will have a rude awakening. If she wants to improve her chances of succeeding Obama in 2016, the Secretary of State platform is much better for her than the Senate. It looks like even her husband realizes that and is willing to make sacrifices in order to make that happen. It's definitely a conundrum for HRC, but I think her ultimate goal is to be the first woman president of the United States, and her success as Secretary of State for eight years would almost guarantee that she would succeed Obama. The likelihood of this happening is almost certain. The only thing that could derail her confirmation as Secretary of State is Obama's vetting process. Carlos Jean-Gilles Saint Louis, MO

    • Posted By: McLovinB @ 11/19/2008 12:50:14 PM

That is, if the economy or the world does not blow up in eight years and wreck that guarantee.... SofState is risky, but it will get her in front of the public early and often, but this will be a challenge for her....
.....that we should all be glad that she is accepting. It shows some guts and ambition, frankly. Nobody will try harder. Nobody has a better chance of being great at it, and truly hitting the ground running...
Things being as dicey as they are around the world, it is certainly not the safe bet for her, but she probably does not care...
