Al Qaeda thinking that calling Obama a "house negro" would generated hate. was what they thought was a good PR move. The funny thing is no one I know thinks it's hateful. I have an African American coworker who thinks it's funny. If they want to stir up hate, they are going to have to say something else. They obviously don't know as much about race relations as they think they do.

Absolutely. This guy reminds me of Bagdhad Betty, back in 1990. She told us that "While you GIs wait to die, Bart Simpson is sleeping with your wife". We were pretty pissed off when the air force blew her up. She was a non-stop laugh...Zawahiri is on her level of performance, but I wouldn't mind seeing him catch a 500 LB bomb.

I believe that this message is a fake and that it was released by Obama surrogates to create a sympathetic wave he kind float into next year upon, and to distance him from the Muslims he had courted during his campaign. Not even in office yet and he's up to manipulation of the media for nefarious purposes. What is in store for the next four years?

    • Posted By: kjpweb @ 11/21/2008 8:06:46 AM

Oh - yes. Actually Obama really is an alien and ready to take over. He's also behind every conspiracy you can think of. He may even eat small children - there is a rumor out there.
That's about as accurate as your comment!

I believe that Obama sank the Titanic, if you watch the movie there's a scene where you can see him in a submarine firing torpedoes at it. Movies are real aren't they?

Obama is off to the races breaking promises of "Change", appointing Washington insiders, lobbyists or those with ties to lobbyists to positions inside his administration. He is backpedalling on repealing Don't Ask/Don't Tell (a stupid policy), lied about accepting public campaign funding, and will never pull all US troops out of Iraq in 16 months.

Well,Obama himself was not behind this conspiricy, but his supporters were.

Todays Columbus Dispatch observes that Obama supporter and state family services chief Helen Kelly-Jones has been suspended from her job without pay for one month for perjorious statements regarding the illegal release of private official files to the press during the Obama campaign swing through Ohio of Joe Wurtzelbacher [''Joe the Plumber'']. Hers was one of six agencies that released personal state files on Joe pertaining to any tax liens,DMV records,child-support,or business records, illegal under Ohio state law. This man has retained an attorney and will go forward with a lawsuit against the state based upon the findings of the Ohio Inpector General, and may seek tort damages against individual department heads involved in the activity.

"Well,Obama himself was not behind this conspiricy, but his supporters were."

And this is an indictment of Obama HOW?

      • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 11/21/2008 1:29:10 PM

By using police state tactics in order to silence ordinary Americans. Thats how. You forget that the Obama campaign itself used just such a device not merely on one,but several occasions with Obama Legal Council Robert Bauer threatening television and radio stations with loss of FCC licence upon an Obama victory if they did not toe his line. Un-American,fascist. It is not so much Obama as a person but his means of governance that are already causing concern in the regions of free speech and civil liberties,[blatantly violated in the case of Wurzelbacher and Obamas Ohio state government supporters] and obviously, for Wurzelbacher,to be free from statist intimidation now found to be illegal. You people were supposed to be against such government intimidation of ordinary Americans. Make up your damned minds.

"By using police state tactics in order to silence ordinary Americans. Thats how."

So, a president elect is now personally responsible for everything done by anyone who voted for him?

          Amazing.

          • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 11/22/2008 4:11:16 AM

Damned straight. Your fellow bovines have held Bush to the precise same standard for nearly eight years.[and bear in mind that this is State intimidation against ordinary Americans we are talking here as so found by a legal representative of a DEMOCRAT Governors state at his direction]. Ye hypocrite. Cast Out Thy Mote.

So funny how the attitude changes from the media, ONCE Obama is elected!!!! But OHHH, all of sudden Al-idots are afraid of Obama!!! laugh...I can tell who this author voted for.
    Same old liberal press.

    • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/22/2008 11:24:05 AM

  • Posted By: Bostonrelocate @ 11/21/2008 11:46:22 PM

Al-idiots are afraid of OBAMA!!! Sooo funny how the attitude of the press changes in a matter of days.
Can you seriously, say that the Al-idiots are afraid of OBAMA, because he will meet with Iran with no pre-conditions??

I can tell who this author voted for.....I can't believe I wasted my time posting

    • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 11/22/2008 11:23:32 AM

"Can you seriously, say that the Al-idiots are afraid of OBAMA, because he will meet with Iran with no pre-conditions?? "

Actually, they're probably afraid of him because he'll go after them where they live, instead of invading a completely unrelated nation.

    • Posted By: McLovinB @ 11/22/2008 2:54:29 AM

Meeting someone without preconditions is the first step toward recognizing that you don't have to climb a mountain to share a grievance with America and the world.
Nixon went to China. Not sure if you are old enough to remember that, but what a difference it made in world affairs. I am sure that they had hundreds of people and we had hundreds of people wringing their hands at what kind of preconditions there should be. JUST DO IT! ... and the world changes. Talk about ping pong like Nixon did, who cares? But talk about something. Clint Eastwood Mexican standoff stuff makes people nervous.

Just for instance, Pakistan has nuclear weapons. So does India. So what? Not too much changed, and relations really seem to have improved since they tested their bombs. Can we really say that not talking to Iran and letting things get out of hand is the best course? Will ignoring their people really serve our best interests?
I am not sure who installed the hotline between the Kremlin and the White House, but it was Eisenhower who put in the text link, I think. A serious guy, but no preconditions there. When there is a need to talk, there is a need to talk. It probably saved the world during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Glad we had no preconditions there.

So. Yeah. Al qaeda is scared of Obama because they cant play the divide and conquer game anymore. If Obama and Ahmadinejad (spelling from memory there... you know who I mean) meet, then Al qaeda is all of a sudden in the position of wondering what was said, and if any promises were made. If some kind of mutual understanding comes out of it between the US and Iran, then ... watch out...

      The whole game changes.

I think it is time en-which the people of the United States start to act their age and not their shoe size. We as American's are in a deep financial hole due in part to a spoiled brat idiot cracker whom throught clout became President and virtually lied through his teeth for the exception to commit our nation to an military action against a terrorist organization that was stateless and covert in action.
Instead of fighting a war in that manner maybe W should have fought fire with fire and fought this terrorist threat with the means of covert operations in the same manner which Israel did so after their Male Weight lifting Olympic team was murdered in Bonn, Germany in the 1970's against the Black September PLO faction that carried it out.
We, not only are going to have to pay back in one way or another the $700 Billion but we also have to figure in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan but also what the Federal Government owes Haliburton and other private contractors in both Iraq and Afghanistan; so now instead of every household flipping the bill for $450.00 dollars per household the cost goes up to roughly $1,200.00 plus once all the numbers are crunched. So ask yourself a very serious question. Do you think it is about time for all American's to stop their petty outbursts and for once Unite and do our part to help re-store our nation to it's former glory, and for once act as a United Nation and stop the racist crap and except and support our newly elected President. We are about to enter our ninth year of the new millenium and yet instead of progressing we have allowed that spoiled nitwit whom drags branches around his ranch in Crawford, Texas sort of like the written accounts of Caligula, whom use to carry heavy stones and walk backwards mumbling to himself as he wandered the streets of Rome the whole time while he was the Emperor of the Roman Empire; unlike Caligula the Pretorian Guard did not stab him to death, and also unlike Caligula the empire did not break out into a civil war. Bush will be gone after January 20th, 2009 and he can go back to his ranch and dress himself in his Lone Ranger costume and drag some more branches around while Cheney learns how to shoot a gun without endangering those around him. I think America has had enough of Bush; and as far as Al Qaeda, they need to do their research, first off Barack Obama is a Kenyan name not an islamic name and when it come to history it was the Berbers whom traded probably Barack's ancestors and led them in chains from Timbucktoo and led them on what was basically a death march through the Saraha Desert to markets in Arabia, and North Africa. So to Al Qaeda, think before you talk remember you have boold on your hands and it was the Arabs whom operated the largest of slave markets in Tunisia and Persia.

  • Posted By: McLovinB @ 11/22/2008 2:40:51 AM

You can tell that Al Qaeda wants to be sophisticated in its PR, but it just doesn't stick. It seems silly. Al Qaeda would have said the same thing about Powell or Condi RIce. They are afraid because they are really losing it. They hoped to inspire generations with their rhetoric against rich white people in private jets. Well, that era might be over, and Obama will steal the show. America is changing for the better. It is finally really embracing its diversity. Just as FDR stole the thunder of the communists during the Depression, Obama will be reforming America real soon now into a country where hate and fear cannot take hold. From here on, Al qaeda will be reacting, not acting. The war against al qaeda will be won in changing the hearts and minds of white and brown people who have not renounced hate.

In their hearts, people want to go along with this Obama change. I hope it lasts awhile.

The reason this comment failed is because it is not authentic....it is a joke.....but lets analyze it like there is some meaning to it. Lets forget how our government has tried to control this country through fear....Our government is the terrorist.....Don't ya get it News Week?

Zawahiri doesn't want to undermine Obama...he supports Obama as our president because he know's he is a push over on terrorism like Clinton. You libs think that an Obama administration will magically create a world full of kumbaya are freakin morons.

    • Posted By: Bobulon @ 11/22/2008 1:25:47 AM

Your name makes it obvious that you are a racist white supremacist coward. Why don't you tell us the real reason you hate Obama instead of hiding behind stupid arguments that don't even make sense to a ten year old? Coward.

  • Posted By: jtgwoodward @ 11/21/2008 6:56:12 PM

Who writes this tripe? "Those who are shocked by Zawahiri's words have merely to remember: spreading hate is the terrorists' job. Hating you is not enough; they also need you to hate them, so the struggle goes on unchallenged." Zawahiri's words have nothing to do with hate, and everything to do with undermining the Americans' respect for their own president and using the old racial divides to do it. It's a classic propaganda move. But then again, so is "Our enemies hate our freedom." Newsweek is falling for both of them.

    • Posted By: jarcher1 @ 11/22/2008 12:19:02 AM

Actually after 8 years of the Bush administration, I was under the impression that our President hated our freedoms.

The US is getting out of Iraq within 16 months anyway. Obama has nothing to do with this. Of course the media will give Obama credit and not Bush. I truly believe that Al Qaeda has been weakened and I thank the US military and Bush for that.

  • Posted By: markci @ 11/21/2008 8:42:01 PM

.*** Zawahiri's words have nothing to do with hate, and everything to do with undermining the Americans' respect for their own president and using the old racial divides to do it. ***

Hilarious. If I were Obama I would hope this message receives as much airplay as possible. For a president still suspected by some as being a crypto-Muslim, this is solid gold. And AQ is not dumb enough to think that they're going to alienate Obama from African-Americans with a stray comment about "house negros".

Their audience, AS ALWAYS, is other Muslims of the world.

  • Posted By: Jonalist @ 11/21/2008 6:42:28 AM

I don't see a point in the catchy title when in the news article is - please don't like him - and I do not interpret that as a hate message but more attune to not give credit to him alone to judge the future and to reserve that for their own judgment. Muslims have a low controlled resistance when it is like or dislike or hate or favor. If they turned to the beginning of the stone's story it was a like for it which grew into a favor of it and that got Islam of and ticking as a larger religion than it was prior to the stone since it was renegade religion that was being fought against Muslims were known for attacking innocent people and cities to overthrow their right to worship.
