It seems that while the IDEA is a good one, the execution is reminiscent of the previous (Bush) administration. The top rated item was summarily deleted. The alleged reason was that it was "backward looking". The issue is that there has not been a credible account offered for the 911 Terrorist attacks. No one has been brought to justice, no one has been censured or demoted for alleged "failures". The specter of further terrorist attacks has been and continues to be USED politically in an ongoing way to promote violations of our Constitution, human rights, and the common good. This is not a dead issue. Given the reported threats of new and even more devastating attacks, it is timely to get to the bottom of the matter. The Zelikow 911 Whitewash Commission Report has been discredited. Unless Change.Org changes its ways and begins to function in an above board manner, we have to see it as a continuation of business as usual and cover-up.

Please let me know what you, as journalists, plan to do about this "bait and switch" travesty.

Former Pakistani Intelligence Chief Calls Mumbai and 9-11 an Inside Job: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juhAreG1p1c. Maybe Obama will finally appoint an independent panel of architects and engineers to look into 9-11. Millions of people have been killed in the Neocon genocide. Abundant evidence exists that the official story is a load of hooey. And yet Newsweek and the rest of the US Media buys into it unquestioningly. Investigation 101: who benefits? The Neocons benefited from 9-11. Fulls top., That makes them the prime suspects. Visit se911turth.org for unimpeachable real evidence that the 3 WTC buildings were brought down by controlled detonations. And then for God's sake, Newsweek, do your damn jobs and follow the money.

Thank you for educating me Dan. Here I was thinking that Newt Gingrich and the RNC had used Web 2.0 technology to coordinate multiple campaigns across multiple states and sweep house and senate on the heals of Clintons historically low ratings and the strength of the "Contract with America." I must have dreamed that. I know that even though your article is diametrically opposed to reality, what you have said "must" be true since you research so thouroughly and carefully. Obama "must" be the first major politician to get it.

After all, you would never just spew out somebody's PR without bothering to fact check it. *I* know that. But help me devise a way to convince those FREETARDS its not so. They are convinced you've done it again and again through either stupidity, laziness, or lack or principle. But I know my hero Dan "I'm Still Credible" Lyons would *never* produce shoddy hyperbolic underresearched work. Never mind SCO, Yahoo, Tesla, and everything you've ever written on Linux being examples... *we* know there is a good explanation in every case.

    Right?

    right?

Between the 28th to the 29th of November more than 660 votes were given to Debora Blake???s proposition to conduct an independent and scientific investigation into the events of Sept 11th 2001. See what happened: www.topratedbutcensored911idea.com

Please read my comment that was deleted along with the clearly most popular demand for change that we can believe in:

???Thank you change.org for this Peoples??? Government initiative! And thank you Deborah Blake for suggesting this essential way forward towards positive change.

James Jesus Angleton impersonated the ???bubble??? type of detachment from reality that the CIA counter-intelligence would develop: he used to say: "Deception is a state of mind and the mind of the State". Indeed, this state of mind goes counter to all intelligence, and we the people may NEVER accept that our country be based on this type of pathological philosophy.

It is a matter of urgency that we GRADUATE: We need a transparent society, where there is a strong notion of ecology not only in preserving our natural environment, but also in our collective MENTAL state. Ecology can only be built on TRUTH. It cannot be built on deception, and lies in the so-called interest of National Security. If the US were telling the truth, and acting according to the truth, then our every Embassy in the world would not look like a high security bunker. Truth brings Peace, Prosperity and mental sanity.

Since www.AE911Truth.org new 2h DVD gives 100% verifiable proof of explosive demolition of WTC I, II and 7, we need more a ???Truth and Reconciliation Comission??? with the former zombies of Zelikow???s Parallel universe, than an investigation into what we already (should) know!

The 9/11 Truth Movement will not pulverize to dust. We are a great bunch of bright, happy and concerned citizens, the salt-of-the-earth people that our country needs to move forward. Join us !

I CANNOT TOLERATE THIS LUNATIC, INSANE , FANATICAL & HYSTERICAL SUPPORT FOR THIS ROOKIE SENATOR ( OBAMA ) AS PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.A. IT DISGUST ME WITH EXTREME ANGER & PITY FOR ALL THOSE WHO DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN AT THIS POINT & TIME OF OBAMA'S POLITICAL PURSUITS & AMBITIONS. I DEEM THIS A FATAL ERROR IN JUDGMENT & PREDICT DEEP REGRETS AROUND THE WORLD - SO HELP ME GOD.

Then why use a cool medium like print sir? Take it to the streets, arouse the rabble. Buttonhole all who will listen for even 5 seconds. Start a crusade, organize a march on Washington, organize a letter writing campaign to Congress. Topple the pretender from his throne! You're surely just wasting your talents here sir, all you splendid reasoning, all your penetrating insight will be forgotten in another two weeks. But if you start a movement, you will be a force to be reckoned with.

I believe every Senator and House member should have their own blog site as well as a separate email address where I can send them articles such as from this magazine. It's critical that they can communicate between their colleagues as well as us constituents. I understand that President-elect Obama has over one million people signed up on his blog site. I'm one of his bloggers and I have written at least 40 articles and he has never changed one word that I have written. I specialize in--What are HEDGE FUNDS and How TOXIC are DERIVATIVES? I've been writing about them now for over 40 years and it started way back when I was farming and was a member of the National Farmers Organization. Our organization wanted to sell on a contract and we did not like the futures market with all the leveraging they used in the selling of our products. I, as a young farmer, even picketed the Chicago Board of Trade, along with our organization. Last year, the Chicago Board of Trade merged with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, making it the biggest DERIVATIVES market in the world. What we need, is the FBI, along with the IRS, to investigate Lehman Brothers and report to our new President-elect just exactly what he should do. If this doesn't clear up the problem, he should tax the OFFSHORE HEDGE FUND DEARLERS in Bermuda, Switzerland and the Cayman Islands. The federal government definitely needs the revenue and it's a lot more honest then to keep borrowing from Social Security. President Lyndon Johnson did put on a surtax for a few years to keep the finances under control during the Vietnam War. Rep. Dave Obey from Wisconsin also suggested a surtax recently. This idea should be floated again and everybody should be reminded that we are all in this together. The world is looking to us for leadership and I believe the President-elect's new cabinet will have to provide this in the first 100 days. A farmer, as well as a business, should know enough to keep their income separate from their expenses.
Yours truly, Disgusted Middleclass Taxpayer, LaVern Isely Google my name and go on the Obama Blog to read my articles.

Floridave: Thanks for your input. I am in no way worried about Harley, instead I am very much amused. On the other hand, I don't expect these type of discourse to exist without name calling - I don't get involved in that kind of profanity as you correctly described it. Happy thanksgiving to you.

  • Posted By: kkhan @ 11/27/2008 1:38:52 PM

To Harleyishere: Like I said sir, Obama was privileged to run, he did & he won - I wish him well. It doesn't mean I have to tolerate the political hypocracy that got him there, really I don't. Wrong my man, I am not the type to call the grapes sour when I don't get it - the horizon of my mentality is far beyond the sciopeof your naked eye. The presidency of the united states of America is a privilege that Obama was not ready to infiltrate. Nevertheless he did, he will serve his term or terms & it will start all over again - on grudges sir, happy holidays to you as well. May Allah bless you always.

To radster - I feel obligated to respond in friendly terms. CAPSLOCK was not stuck on my keyboard - it was not an accident. However, on the contrary, there was profound intent in the use of capital letters - screaming wasn't it either.
I have always been a favourite of the Democrats, I have great admiration for former President Clinton. Let me say that there is no indignation for Obama personally. He has promising potentials, magnificent eloquence, but lack the ignored values of experience & wisdom, that one acquires from greater political exposure. Obama's escalation to the helms of power can only be attributed to his ability to admirably deliver his message vocally. When you are likeable, you become electable, you are already 50% in regardless of what you know or know not. Obama has political ambitions far beyond his present capabilities - he came at the time when your nation was at it's weakest point, a point of extreme desperation like when a drowing rat will clutch at a straw. It is not Obama who has made history, it is the people who have put race & prejudice behind them & thus gave him support. Look, I wish this man well, but tell me, how does a soldier elevate to the rank of a general, how does a lawyer reach the position of a supreme court judge & how does a doctor become surgeon general? Obama was in the infancy of his political career before Nov. 4th, 08.

This article: "Federal election rules prohibit President Obama from interacting with supporters in the same way as Candidate Obama did.". but pres.elect Obama, in talking with Barbara Walters said: he will negotiate with secret service to relax this rule. A possible solution to this problem is that he be given a special cell phone so that everything he says on the air be recorded by secret service who is responsible for his security. That's the price to pay to be a president.

  • Posted By: radster @ 11/27/2008 9:55:44 AM

To Kamil. Just to let you know - CAPLOCK was stuck on your keyboard. Also, writing in CAPS does not make your point any more valid (like screaming). Meanwhile, regarding your opinions on our new President-elect. - whom would you have prefered? A senile, angry man? A beauty queen from Alaska? A fervent Born Again Christion from Arkansas? Rich, white Mormon who has not stuck to one stand for more than a month? Please clarify your posistion.

Obama pledged to change the way HOW things are done in Washington, not WHO was doing them. He's going to have a mixture of new people and people with valuable experience in government like Hillary Clinton. What he's NOT going to do is bring in a crowd of ideologues that won't let reality stand in the way of their schemes. Bush has already proved what a disaster that way of governing is.

"A community will always make a better decision than an individual."
This is not a universal truth. Care is required in the process to make sure that a loud agenda-driven clique doesn't run away with things.

    • Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/24/2008 2:25:00 PM

Loud, agenda driven clique? Nah... the last time I saw one of those was at the Obama rally.

      • Posted By: Horrible Bastard @ 11/26/2008 8:30:26 AM

Certainly. I imagine McCain's rallies had monitors to keep the noise down. Otherwise, the excitement would get to the poor old man, and they'd have to increase his medication.

Apparently Newsweek should have not published this article. The article is apparently correct given the extreme posts in this discussion. .Nothing like writing an article then getting immediate conformation.

  • Posted By: Tabi @ 11/25/2008 12:40:53 AM

Is this not how the media is supposed to act: hashing out ideas in a public forum. Despite how the internet has improved our ability to distribute news, the ways the news is gathered has not changed. And the idea of showing the workings of government sounds an awful lot like C-Span.

Obama's net army is more a rabble than an army. And that rabble is going to disappear rapidly.

    • Posted By: Vypurr @ 11/25/2008 9:17:32 AM

      Tabi,

Don't pay much attention to Harley, the class clown. He hasn't been taking his meds and is a little delusional... he thinks he's the moderator here and is the boss of everyone.

      Rest easy, he isn't.

  • Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/24/2008 12:59:57 PM

So if I'm reading this correctly, Obama is only interested in hearing from the people that voted for him on this new web council idea? I mean why use WhiteHouse.org and talk to everybody... lets just talk to the people who voted for me... its not like I'm President of the whole country or anything. So should the 55 million of us who voted for the other guy move to the southern states and secede or something? I mean the new President isn't interested in our opinions anyway... what would he care?

While I'm commenting on it... I thought a vote for Obama was a vote for change... when did nominating former Clinton cabinet members to your cabinet constitute change? Way to go Oh and no changes in the tax laws for at least two years... "I promise to take public financing... well at least until I get the Democratic nomination... and then I'm going private so I can get my Iranian buddies to support my campaign without having to disclose who they are." Boy we are in for a great four years. I just hope he can turn the water to wine at his inaugeration... going to be a revolt if he doesn't.

    • Posted By: Horrible Bastard @ 11/24/2008 1:11:07 PM

"So if I'm reading this correctly, Obama is only interested in hearing from the people that voted for him on this new web council idea? "

Why should he listen to "Joe the Plumber"?

      • Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/24/2008 1:56:53 PM

Because he's an American citizen. I think most of the Obama people seem to forget that we all share this country... I thought Obama was about "uniting"... this sounds more like an attempt to create division to me. I think we should all just have a big fight about it... you guys don't believe in gun ownership though so it might not be totally fair.

        • Posted By: Horrible Bastard @ 11/24/2008 2:03:02 PM

          "Because he's an American citizen."

And so? Bush prided himself on "not listening" to your anti-war protesters. Why, then, should Obama listen to the opposition? In addition, why would he listen to the American right, having seen that they can't seem to do anything right?

          • Posted By: Blackcourt79 @ 11/24/2008 2:23:12 PM

I don't have any anti-war protesters... so I'm not sure what you are talking about there... but I apologize for forgetting that morality is the reason why this country is so messed up. Save a tree... kill a baby... its the answer to all our problems.

            • Posted By: Blue in AZ @ 11/25/2008 1:29:07 AM

              "I don't have any anti-war protesters"

Those would be the same people who "share this country" as you put it in an earlier post. I guess people are only entitled to an opinion when it mirrors yours. Whine a little more...you're making yourself look great.

            • Posted By: Horrible Bastard @ 11/24/2008 2:32:53 PM

"I don't have any anti-war protesters... so I'm not sure what you are talking about there... "

I was referring to your fellow Yanks; the ones Bush felt weren't worth listening to, because they disagreed with his policies.

        • Posted By: Blue in AZ @ 11/25/2008 1:21:54 AM

I don't think it was "the Obama people" who forgot we shared this country. I'm pretty sure it was all the rednecks screaming "elitist" and "terrorist" at anyone with a differing opinion (or a diploma). I for one am happy to have a President who is smarter than Joe the Plumber. We definitely couldn't say the same about Bush.

4 Years? Make that 20 plus. The GOP is fading fast and justly so. In 2010, we Democratcs will take 3 to 5 of the 19 Republican Senate Seats up for grabs. In 2012 the rout will be even more intense that 2008. the GOP will never regain it's status. Rush limbaugh, sean Hannity, Dick Morris and the other hate salesmen will assure that the Republican party is relegated to third party status. Soon there will be no isle to cross. Life is Good and God is Good.
