jpmba must not know a lick about what he's talking about and has probably never been to Rwanda or Congo in the last few years. Most people who write on these forums likely haven't. If you were to look closer at the arrest of Rose Kabuye or Kagame's comments / actions in regards to the Congo you would see how complicated the situation truly is for Rwanda. And you'd also probably see that Rwanda - not France - is probably the only country attempting to officially handle this situation rationally and responsibly. Kagame has been clear about Rwanda's interests in terms of the Congo, and what he hopes the international community will do to help the situation. If there is a finger to be pointed here, it is first at the Congolese government, and second at the French. The UN, as always, will be that ghost looming over everything but never really aiding the solution. After all, it was the UN and the French who left Rwanda to be ravaged in 1994. Of course Kagame has reason to be skeptical. I think this will certainly be a challenge for Barack to face after he faces the many other domestic issues that he'll certainly be forced to confront first.

Kind of proves that when you take away a barbarian's machete, and give him a uniform and a gun, he's now a barbarian with a uniform and a gun.

President Kagame of Rwanda holds the key to his big neighbour's problems. Think about the recent arrest of Rose Kabuye in Germany. This is a stick and carrot for the Rwandan President right there! Keep messing with me and I will keep messing with Congo. Thankfully for Congo, French are backing away from justice. They are giving in to Kagame's demands. What a shame!

Look no further for the key to Congo's problems: Rwanda. Solve this country's long term security problems and you have solved Congo's crisis in a durable way.

It is sad is you really think the US is a nation of war mongers. We are the world's most generous and do more for fighting hunger and disease than any nation in the history of the world period. Some Americans spend so much energy trying to give the United States a bad image that they have begun to believe their own rhetoric. I roomed with a police man from Nigeria and he told me his nation is trying to completely mock the US system of government because we have the oldest constitution and it seems to work. He discussed with me how it is not going great fighting corruption and he did not understand how Americans were able to make the right decisions for the better of the people over personal greed. Stop looking to Europe for answers. It is the responsibility of the United States to be that moral shining beacon. Yes we are imperfect but our flag represents ALL that is good an pure.

If this is true, why hasn???t Bush or Obama stepped in? I know the U.S. can???t be the world???s policeman, but my God. If the U.N. or Europe is so powerless then the U.S. should pull troops out of Iraq and send them to Africa. Or is this Obama???s plan come January? Then again, if the only way to convince people of the value of life is to threaten to kill them, we are at a sorry moment in human history. It is sad to think the birthplace of the human race may become its cemetery.

Too bad they don't have oil, or the USA would have "liberated" them as well.
