"Mumbai attack: Act now, or we???ll act, America warns Pak

Islamabad : US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has told Pakistan that there is ???irrefutable evidence??? of involvement of elements in this country in the Mumbai terror attacks and it had no option but to act urgently and effectively to avert a strong international response.
Rice ???pushed??? the Pakistani leaders to move against the perpetrators of the terror strikes warning that ???otherwise, the US will act,??? the 'Dawn' reported on Saturday.

The clear message was conveyed to Pakistan's top leadership by Rice during her brief stopover in Islamabad on Thursday, diplomatic sources said, giving credence to the report.

Rice said that there was ???irrefutable evidence??? of the involvement of Pakistani elements in the Mumbai attacks, the sources said.

She travelled to Pakistan after a visit to India, where she was shown the extensive evidence gathered by investigators to prove the linkages between the Mumbai attackers and Pakistan-based elements, especially the banned Lashker-e-Toiba terror group, the sources said.

They said Rice, during her interactions with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, made it clear that Pakistan needs to act effectively to bring the perpetrators "

Man your sooo full of dog poo. I saw the Rice press conference in Islamabad. A journalist asked her about what evidence she had got from indians and all she said was that there are some indications that groups from Pakistan are involved.

And you use the term, "Irrefutable evidence". You pedantic moron. All you do here is lie lie lie. Shame on you (if you have any)

Why did the Pakistani Army butcher 3 million Bengali Muslims? Why was the biggest genocide against Muslims conducted by the Pakisani Army? It is another matter that the much vaunted Pakistani Army lost Bangladesh ( 3rd December to 17th December 1971) in 14 days. How do the Pakisanis atone for this butchery against their co religionists. Remember December 1971..

hahaha .. oh God .. look at another drama ... Looks like Indian politicians and media are getting training from Bollywood Actors... or they are much influenced by Bollywood ... Even experts are criticizing the role of Indian media during all this incident....

Everybody is aware that the Pakistani Army and intelligence agencies are not controlled by the Pakistani civilian government.

The atrocities in Mumbai committed by 10 terrorists were solely in the name of those who committed them and not in the name of Islam, as so perfidiously portrayed by the Indian and Western media. What possible benefit could Pakistan have achieved or would achieve out of this barbarity when thousands of its own people have been killed and murdered by the same terrorists? As a consequence of terrorism, Pakistan's economy is in ruin and the country is going down the drain politically, financially and socially. Indian intelligence services had every possible information that a terrorist attack on Mumbai was imminent and even the CIA warned them of the forthcoming threat, yet the central and Maharashtra government allowed the horrendous crime to happen. Either it was sheer incompetence or a deliberate attempt to ignore the intelligence to manipulate the aftermath for political gains before the general election.

And why is it that Mumbai is always a "soft target" for these terrorists? The citizens of Mumbai are getting rebellious and disgruntled with the provincial and central government and still mopping up the blood on their streets, railway stations and counting the corpses in their hotels. So the Indian government has a motive to blame Pakistan without any concrete evidence, apart from what is coming out of the mouth of the captured terrorist? Is the word of a criminal and a terrorist to be believed and put India on a war footing, rather than trusting the Pakistan government? Indian politicians and their parties are itching to start a war against Pakistan to win the next general election. This is real: India and Pakistan have gone to war three times since the 1947 partition. The prospect of another war in the sub-continent is horrendous and chilling to imagine with the mushroom clouds of death and destruction dwarfing the horrors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Even a petty thief would not have left so manyt finger prints behind than the Indians allege ISI left sending these terrorists by sea to Mumbai. Who are you kidding or fooling Mr Manmohan Singh? Probably, some silly Indian politicians trying to win some votes in the next general election by putting two nuclear powers on a war footings. Indians blame Pakistan's ISI for the involvement in Mumbai attacks and trying to fool the world into believing that Pakistan's intelligence agency is even worse than theirs

The question that keeps coming to mind is, "What would Pakistan have to gain by the Mumbai attacks?"

Absolutely nothing. Now, the whackjobs that are giving the Pakistanis problems in the "tribal belt" have EVERYTHING to gain...right now, they're stuck between the Pakistani army and the US army. A little "let's you and him fight" is exactly what they need.

And everyone seems to be falling for it.

Pakistan has learned nothing. They still try to talk their way out of this mess. When the whole world is telling you to stop being the mothership of global terrorism & stop the training, funding, indoctrination & protection of terrorists on their soil, their response is where is the evidence?

I would respect Pakistan more if they said we've a problem, we want to solve it and any help is welcome. Do something. And stop talking nonsense.

Yes, let India gov provide just one piece of evidence to make the whole world be against Paki!

Stop Talking Nonsense?? Is it Pakistan doing this .. ha ha.. from the evening of Mumbai Attacks, its being said by Indian Media and officials.... Different names have been raised many times by Media ... Ridiculous .. no evidences but lists haha ... Try to understand ... Indian Govt officials are fool ... even in one hour they started to say "its Pakistan"... USA wants INDIA to get into war against Terrorism ... that's why during her visit to India, Rice has been raising the issue that its not finished when the criminals are caught and punished..we need to stop further attacks .... USA is not in same Economic condition to fight against terrorism and they dragging Indians now .... Let see how +vely and sensibly India behaves..looks difficult as they 've reacted till now to Mumbai attacks ..from bottom to top ...

Congratulations to Zardari for his assurance. He is heading a political government and its time to prove it's sincerity. Terrorism can not be eliminated by a single country with isolated actions. The countries in the region should work together make it No. 1 issue that destabilizes the countries. The trained people who fought in the Afgan war are not scatered in all countries particularly in the region. The law enforcing bodies in respective countries should locate them and track their activities and keep them under watch. These people did not fight their own war, they were mercenaries and again now they are being used by interested quarters. It has nothing to do with religion. No religion permits killing of innocent people. Lets wait and see how countries in the region co-operate with each other to resolve the thorny issue.

I am sure the number of peace loving people will outnumber the terrorists or trouble mongers. Can we not unite to make sure that the Mumbai incident is the last? Unfortuantely the overwhelming number is helpless in the face of few people who can make the difference. We have seen peace marches but did they bring any result? The world leaders and the leaders of all religions should sit together to discuss the situation facing the world and ways to bring peace to all the trouble spots. There will be difference in opinion but fighting is no solution.Once it is done. Only a united stand can help us. .

  • Posted By: khasroo29 @ 12/03/2008 12:09:40 AM

Its not important to know at this point of time, how the terrorists have come to Mumbai? Were they Pakistani, home grown or other nationalilites? It has been established that it was a lapse on the part of Indian Security Aparatus. It is heartening to know from the media about a timely call by Indian Islamic clerics to not to bury the dead terrorists in the soil of India, which they have dishonored. As far as we are aware all religion asks its followers to treat their homeland as sacred but the renegedes have lost their senses and are being used as tools. None of the religions sanctions killing of innocent people. It is high time the religious leaders of Muslims and OIC to come out openly to condemn the massacre in Mumbai and tell the world if this sort of action is permitted? The world deserve to know what is their stand on this matter and the opinion of Islamic leaders on such activity?

When karachi in Pakistan exploded and Bombarded, that killed civilians last few Months ago,USA intellengence had Warned India of Possible Retalition,As Pakistan knows It must be the Work of Indian Nationalist Terrorist,This Week in Mumbai, people get killed in bombardment and exploded ,Its Obviously the Work of Pakistan Separatist Terroirist,When Civilian people Died in the Street of Jerusalem,It must be Work of Palestine Terrorist,When People died in Gaza or West Bank ,Its definately the work of Israelis Terrorist....Some even created OWN Explosion to disguise Others to getting attention and start Political Blaming on others .......This is much worst from Cold War.....USA must not be "Wild Goose or Turkey" changing fast "Supports" for his Position when moments like this Happening,USA must be smarter and stay Out of this stupid civil Conflicts.Specially when these Countries secretly Habouring their Own Terrorist for Political agenda. If USA Government MAKES preferences ,the Real Victims, always the Innocent average American Public by becoming Targets anywhere they're of these Devils.

How on earth USA can be regards as the Peace "NEUTRAL NEGOTIATOR" on behalf of WORLD for "ISRAELIS -PALESTINE CONFLICTS " When its Jewish Senator -Joe-Liberman act as Chairman of Homeland Security Committee in Senate Presiding the Matters?

As to the nature of the insurgency, even the president recognizes that some, perhaps a good number, represent nationalist forces who simply resent the occupation: Lieberman, however, disdains them all as "terrorists," "revanchists," and "Islamic extremists." To blame the insurgents alone for the civil war is to blank out the reality of Shi'ite death squads striking in the south and central regions of Iraq, instituting a veritable reign of terror; it is to ignore Kurdish ultra-nationalists intent on driving Arabs off their land. Lieberman somehow fails to mention any of this.

pakies are the ones who cause terror and harbor terrorist of the world. The must be litterally dragged to justice and held accountable for the attrocities they commited to the US and Afghan lives in Afghanistan. There's no need for them to exist, and must be dissolved to whom it belonged sixty years ago.

India Government should STOP supporting and traiining secretly to those Nationalist Terrorist againt the Will of Freedom people and democracy ,by Stopping to incites fighting for Kashmir nationalist separatist up-north againt its neighbour Pakistan and and south Tamil Tiger againt Sri Lanka .Its understandable, why India frustation of both situations, the Pakistan Independence in 1947 and "Ceylon" Sri Lanka independence that , was once belongs to India territory but to resort through Terrorist Resort ideology is not an answer to the World stability.

Pakistan cannot take such a fool risks at this time. Pakistan is already surrounded by extremists and Pakistanis are fighting against them and its Pakis who are paying for it too. Why it should be blamed? There are many other directions you can find like elections are expected in India... Killings of Himant (investigating Maliagaon in which an Indian Army Colonel is involved in blasts in Smjhota Express and remember that time also Pakistan was blamed) ... Pakistan is fighting against terrorists but India has them in its Govt Structure..It was really said .. all killed were humans (regardless of their religions) .. all are our brothers ...
Pakistanis are already crying for their beloved ones... After 9/11... all has changed ... It was BUSH ....

Unfortunately too many muslims will be tagged as being a terrorist from this latest attack on innocent civilians. It is clear that these individuals were both highly motivated and very well trained. But still dressing in civilian clothes and professing that they are students to me smacks of cowardice. If it is a quasi military operation say upon question who they are and what they intend to do. I personally do not care for people who hide in the guise of being an innocent civilian or student. All captured should after interrogation be put to death and in a prolonged way like the poor innocents that they slaughtered. Their agenda is to upset the peace between Pakistan and India. Strange way to meet Allah in my opinion. Simple killers should go to that Neverland to me that is Dante or Hell. Befitting of simple murderers.....

  • Posted By: WorldCitizen @ 11/28/2008 11:50:09 AM

These Muslim terrorists are supported by their home countries. Immediately after 9/11 there were tens of thousands of Muslims celebrating in the streets of Gaza, Islamabad and Mogadishu. These people hate the West, our government, our people, our friends and our culture. Countries that tolerate this group of people and/or give these countries foreign aid make the problem worse.

  • Posted By: Nins @ 11/27/2008 12:57:22 PM

A strong but non-violent protective response to build a shield around prospective targets, coupled with a complete exploration of the Muslim's actual grievances would alleviate both the reach of terrorism and the seeding ground of malcontent in which they harvest their recruits.

I hope that India and the world can follow some kind of coordinated plan in this direction.

And my heart goes out to the people in Mumbai. It is so sad.
