Any sane person can look around the globe and see that muslims or sections within the muslim population will not rest under they establish the caliphate and impose sharia rule . The so called moderate muslims will come up with the explanation of 'oppression of muslims' instead of standing up against the cancer within. Poverty is not an excuse for killing others if you keep on sending your kids to madrassas instead of free government education and affirmative action provided by the govt. in India. Most of the recent muslim terrorists who were arrested in India have engineering/ medical degrees. How will you attribute the deeds of home grown british terrorists to oppressive living conditions? The muslim elders and mullahs should stop gloating about muslims ruling the world many centuries back and instigating the youth to be confrontational to rest of the world by instilling grievance and revenge instead of hope, dedication and hard work to succeed in life. The rapid explosion of muslim population around the world by not opting for birth control measures is adding to the pool of potential young terrorists. In spite of having 'moderate muslim friends' and listening to all sides, the events of last few years have convinced me that a civilizational war fuelled by petro dollars and internet is inevitable with major repercussions to the world. The civilized world should decimate islamic terorism with brute force, else the chickens will come home to roost and it will be too late. I feel like yanking out the balls of authors like Khanna who try to justify such barbaric acts by trying to come up vague insinuations instead of calling the spade a spade.

It is quite clear from what has happened in Mumbai that International Jihadism is at work here : it was obviously well planned months in advance, well funded and well co-ordinated, using stupid young men who have been brain washed with hatred for non-muslims and lure of fabulous fruits in 'life after death'.

This was not any struggle against oppression of Muslims in India - the 'Deccan Mujahadeen' is only a front. The targetting by terrorists of the two posh hotel where foreigners stay and the Jewish Centre, points to international terrorist connection, wanting to take revenge for the decades old favrouritism and protection of Isreaeli interests by the West, especially America with Britain on its apron strings, and the blatant rape of Iraq by Western oil interests.

The Muslims in India are not an underclass, they are rather privileged, enjoying special protection under India's Constitution; their economic under performance as a class is more due to their clinging to their madrassas and traditional occupations. The Maoist problems, stemming from the problems of farmers need to be dealt with on a different level. The centuries old problem of the 'untouchables' (the dalits) will take more time to solve, despite the positive discrimination measures in place for decades.

In the longer term, there is need for changes to India's Constitution to ensure equal rights for all its citizens, and to stop the special privileges provided for religious minorities. If Muslims can live in Britain where all citizens enjoy same rights, they very well can do in India too. And, there are sizable number of Muslims in China where they live under the one couple one child dictat from the Govt. Something similar should be done in India too, and urgently. India's population problem can be solved only then.

Jihadism must be met at its source. May India take up the cudgels and face it!
