It is a breathtaking story of not only of a man against the laws of nature but a beautiful parodox of life!

A breath taking story of not only a man whom conflicts with the laws of nature, but a parodox beauty who brings out the good.

Thank you lts3232. I'm pretty confident that any woman would be infatuated with him after seeing this movie. Kudos to Mr. Pitt!

Well said tinlousantos. I haven't seen the movie though. But from what I've read here in the comments, it seems very interesting. Unless you're just infatuated with Brad Pitt.

Her name was Daisy. It really does make you reflect on your life and the quality in which you choose to live it. For me, this movie made me realize the value of my children and most especially the good fortune of being able to spend the rest of my existence with the love of my life. I certainly didn't mind the more than 2hrs of the movie because ultimately, I'm a sucker for romantic movies...even when they don't end the way i would like them to.

Am I wrong, or was Blanchett's character named Daisy, not Alice...?

It is really hard to comment on this movie. Despair entwined, hopes following, the main thread keeps you reflecting on your own ways of life. The last scene is formidably amazing...those dream-like flashbacks. What is point of life if you chose not working hard and stepping into the arena of life with your head held high? Observing the leitmotif from this perspective, and from the perspective of we as 'dying men' who should regret our wasted time if possible, this film is ttruly educating.

Hope there's no tobacco drug use in the movie. Smoking or any other use of the tobacco drug ruins any film!

Or can it be that you ruin a film solely on the fact that people do things you do not like. Your opinion is shortsided and closed minded, furthermore educate yourself about tabacco and the birth of our nation before your next "sermon".

In a time when there is so much uncertainty in our world this movie was a gift. I enjoyed it from start to finish, The roller coaster of emotions I felt during this film will stay with me for years to come. A lesson taught in a movie is a rare thing these days. I am grateful to have seen it. - Cary Brandt

i thought it wa beutiful story. The hardest thing to watch was when Benjamin is found as a child. It really does make you reflect, and it makes you appreciate your own life. I have two kids a 10 year old and 1 year old. Even though my wife and i have never seperated, seeying my 10 year old now makes me feel like i missed somthing. Holding my baby makes me remember when he was a baby. And I miss i...alot. So holdon to the beuty of life cause it moves on even hough you may not ready to move on. Savor your memories, and enjoy your life because nothing last....

Most boring movie I've ever seen. And the Cate Blanchette played Daisy, not Alice, though I can understand why you might be fuzzy on the details after nearly 3 hours--perhaps you nodded off like I did.

This movie had solid performances by big name stars and was almost 3 hours long, which has "we want an Oscar or Golden Globe" written all over it. I admit it was entertaining, fun, and poignant, but if it beats "Burn After Reading" or "Slumdog Millionaire", I will eat my shoe.

Yes, this movie is very long, but it is a beautiful story. I saw it yesterday and I found myself thinking about "Benjamin" and his plight today. It says a lot about life and how we all age and watch the people we love die. Yet, it's not a movie about self-pity and it's not a depressing story. It's a story that will stay with me for a very long time.

I thought there was much more to this fiilm that suggested in this review. It's not just about mortality and how fast life seems to go by (especially as one gets older) but it makes one think about how are elderly are treated, the handicapped, and the infirm. It made me think about the care and love one gives an infant is not really all that different from how you should love and care for the elderly. I thought it was important to show him at the end as an infant and how Daisy had to care for him the way Queenie cared for him at the start of the film.
I also loved (possibly intentional or not) the little references to other films. I couldn't help but think fo Jaws when they were swimming in the dark of the coast of Florida, or the flash baack scenes from the old woman's memory were very much like Titanic.
Lastly, I loved the lightening strikes.

I noticed taht the novel "The Confessions of Max Tivoli" by Andrew Sean Greer has a similar plot. How does this relate to the F. Scott Fitzgerald short story?
