Did you actually see the movie (which I absolutely loved)? Benjamin's love's name was Daisy not Alice.

Different strokes for different folks. The Move will indeed win an academy award in some genre. It was a great performance by Pitt and a touching foray into real love between a mother and defective son. A biological father who rues the day he gave his son away in disgust and a romantic love story between unlikely participants. Sort of Gumpish in that you never know what your gonna get in that box of chocolates..

Maybe an intellectually correct review, but one BORING LONG movie!

I'm wondering how closely this reviewer watched the movie since the review lists one of the lead character's names wrong. Benjamin's love's name was not Alice...it was Daisy. The same Daisy who is the old woman in the hospital dying.

However, in other respects, the review is right on. The movie does take an hour to get going and it is oddly haunting.

How can you agree with the critic's review at all or even give it merit when he called Daisy Alice? This reviewer has no credibility, and the review is valueless.

I can agree because I saw the movie and feel the same way as the reviewer did.

When I was in high school, our school's paper reviewed a film and got a character's name wrong. The reviewer got a stern talking to from the editor and the faculty advisor. Is your editor on vacation this week or do you just disrespect your job and magazine enough not to care?

I never pay attention to reviews of movies by critics because very often they are dead wrong on movies....I mean at least on critic called "Gladiator" the WWF of the Roman Empire and how did that film turn out? I think the criticism of this film is tied to another similar movie many are aware of ..."Forrest Gump". The problem with "Gump" is that the situations and characters do not feel as real as this film "Button", which is a much better film than 3 stars. I think this movie is being unfairly compared to Forrest Gump because Eric Roth wrote both scripts. Movies of this type do take a long time to get started, but I think it would cheapen this movie and Forrest Gump, which also took a long time to get to its ultimate destination. There is one criticism of this movie that I find in retrospect....the sceen where Button has turned into a baby was over the top and unnecessary because it was trying to emphasize the special relationship between Daisy and Benjamin, but it should have stayed where the relationship where it mattered most-Benjamin and Daisy both adults at the height of a great love affair-not degenerate into Daisy the mother and Benjamin the baby. I dont think it will win an oscar because those people cannot pick an oscar winner to save their life.

I have watched many many movies over the years and there is one thin I know about critics of movies is that they dont know what they are talking about as far as what is good and what is not good in a movie. I mean for god sake one critic called "Gladiator" the wwf of the Roman Empire. Did it not win an oscar for best picture? did it Russell Crowe win best actor for that film? I saw "Button" last night and I instantly recongnized the writer of Forrest Gump's style on this film, but this movie is much better because the characters and situations seem far more down to earth and real than Gump's story. As far as the short story by Fitzgerald...dont bother because you will barely recognize that story in this film. I think this film is much better than the critic states because he is judging it against Forrest Gump, which is good but not as good as Button.

My husband and I saw this movie yesterday. It is very long, but worth every minute. It's captivating, interesting and haunting all in one. And like every good movie, it stays with you for some time after it has ended.

One note on this review above, how in the world can a writer get paid for a review on a movie when he can't even quote the correct name of one of the most important characters? That is sad.

I don't go to the movies often now because of all the junk that is out there. But this movie reminds me of the old Hollywood movies of years past. The cinematography, the score, the costumes, are all sumptuous. And Brad Pitt, Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett are awesome. This movie has Oscar written all over it. Yes, it is long, but it keeps you
engaged because you really don't know what's going to happen next. I can't wait to read Fitzgerald's original short story.

Perhaps the reason some had trouble with the length of this movie and the message of love, family, mortality, age-less-ness and aging is the result of a generation of instant messaging people raised unable to sit still for longer than a 30 minute episode of reality TV or write any more detailed and complete sentences than what can fit in their phone text box. Thankfully the movie will be meaningful to those who understand it, and Brad Pitt should be nominated for an oscar for his subtle, haunting performance.

If I ever get married, I hope to one day have kids. If one day, someone should savagely murder my first born, my world will be shattered and I will want to kill this savage with my bare hands. However, if this option is not available, I will be ok with making the criminal watch this movie as retribution.

If I ever get married, I hope to someday have kids. If in the rare event someday someone should savagely murder my first born, I will have ravenous rage for that person. I will probably want to kill them with my bare hands. However, the next best retribution would be to make them watch this movie.
