I recommend we bottle up all muslims in one spot. We cannot afford to have even one in our collective midst. They each retain that kernel subject to religious manipulation that potentially turns them into terrorists. If they persist in tererorism, carry the jihad to Mecca and Medina and destroy them once and for all.

The latest horrendous statements by Lankan army chief Sarath Fonseka on 6/12/08 against tamils and LTTE supremo Prabakaran , would make attacks like 26/11 in Mumbai LEGITIMATE.
LTTE is fighting for the liberation , freedom and identity of the tamils in Lanka . Just like ROB ROY and William Wallace fought against the racist , supremacist English in Scotland.

I am a muslim and dont think that our religion teaches the barbaric acts being done by a section of so called Muslims. They are not muslim for sure as the action can not be sanctioned by the teaching of Holy Quran where killers have been warned of serious action by Allah. I wonder how these people have been taught with out of context preaching by a section of the religious teachers. I have serious reservation about these so called teachers' competence to interpret the Quran. Its high time OIC and Imam of the Holy Kaaba speak out on the teaching of Quran to clear misgivings about Islam. Its not relevant to know if others are right to criticize muslims. We muslims should prove we are following our religion and teaching of our Prophet (PBUH) correctly?

What you have said about Pakistan creating, supporting and training Islamic jihadists is no dout true, but why have you stopped half way. a poorly planned conspiracy with not a shred of evidence against pakistan or muslims -staged like the iraqi invasion as a frenzied attempt to engage muslims in a crusade of sorts ,
if you think the world is made up of america israel and india alone fighting iran pakistan and afghanistan then go on living in your fools paradise ,
how can the WORLD comprised of jewish american media and hindu extremists who burn gujrati muslims alive even have the gumption with rice who and her admin have murdered a million iraqi muslims to even think anyone will find their accusations truthful just because they staged a poor and bloody drama in mumbai where they possibly killed a lot of muslims too ,
thankfully the world today is comprised of china mainly and it is not said a word to agree with either rice or pranab ,
well done china and pakistan -expose these liars for what they are -filthy rotten scoundrels who kill and murder innocent muslim civilians every day in palestine and kashmir lie cattle and cry wolf over the false pretexts of THE ISLAMIC BOMB ,

No point in blaming these terrorists. Terrorists come and they go. What is to be blamed in the underlying philosophy that breeds this terrorism - namely "Islamic Fundamentalism". This is what needs to be erradicated. Unless mainstream Muslims believe that this is the problem and take it up as something abhorrent and needs to be removed from their societies we will continue to see such events escalate in violence and brutality. It is unfortunate that thinkers like Farheed don't even acknowledge this elephant in the room.

No matter how everyone comments about india not treated well minority... The fact is that india is only country in the world who has designated minority people in its higher post:Ex- President- Abdul Kalam Azaad (a muslim), Current Prime Minister: Dr Manmohan Singh (a sikh) . Lots of popular indian film actors are muslims. In india several govt office position is also hold by muslims. India has ideology of secular state where all religion stay togther .

Thank you for not denying the attacks on Christians in your country. Thank you for not denying the fact that you have major fascist groups in India who are quite popular. Contact any of those organizations, they'd glad to show you their literature.

Also, in the US, would you consider KKK and Christian Coalition as fascist?

Karachi has been hit by violence again. More than 30 have been killed in the past three days. Violence in Karachi has always been the precursor of change in Islamabad. It was in Karachi in 2007, where the fate of the previous government was written. It is a common belief that whoever makes the government in Islamabad, the actual power rests with the military and their ISI. It is still a mystery as to why did the powerful in the country chose Karachi to be the first and sometimes the only firing ground for the so-called paramount changes. Residents of the city remember the victory procession of General Ayub Khan led by his son that went on rampage and killing in the early 60s. That incident might not have brought an immediate change of government but it did show the choice of the powers to use Karachi for venting their mighty excitement and anger. The tradition has continued since. MQM,. Jaish-e-sahaba. and other outfits of the real powers are clashing this time, indicating that the powers are under stress after the Mumbai attacks and India-US could deal a blow to their paradise. Push comes to shove, they might take a hard line and change the faces in Islamabad with a PML-N, PML-Q and Jamaat-e-Islami .
I lived in Karachi until 1992. Upheavals in the time of Zia- Junejo, changing of the PPP government in 1990, the fall of Nawaz Sharif government, all of those events followed a spate of irrational, inconceivably cruel killings in Karachi. I have witnessed the events in 1977 and I could quote many more incidents in which the innocent and the poorest of the residents on the sidewalks of the city were needlessly, mercilessly killed and sharpest of minds could not figure why somebody would kill these half-dead side-walk dwellers.
1992, the year I left Pakistan, turned out to be another bloody one. Boys, who would otherwise be playing cricket were turned into murderers and gangsters by the ISI and then killed by the establishment for disobeying the laws of the land. The ISI that gave them guns and ammunition and sent them for errands, either murdered those boys themselves or got them killed. I hear similar stories about Mulla FM, and others, considered to be Taliban terrorists in Pakhtoonistan.
The ISI could definitely be one of the most inhuman organizations to have followed us into the 21st century.

Here is a partial list of people who opposed the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) in India.

    1. Shabana Azmi (Actress, Muslim, Marxist)
    2. Arundhati Roy (Writer, Christian, Marxist)
    3. MJ Akbar (Journalist, Muslim, Marxist)
    4. Teesta Setalvad (social worker, Hindu, Marxist)

We request Newsweek to interview these personalities and get their opinions. But we can predict the response.

    1. Western philosophy will be copiously used. Plato and Aristotle will be quoted. Marx, Engels, class-warfare, caste-warfare will be

quoted. Sartre and Camus will be quoted. But there will be no condemnation of the terrorists.

    2. Islam will be praised. The Catholic Church will be praised. Anything remotely Indian or Hindu will be abused. From the lowliest

beggar to the greatest scientist - all will be damned (as long as they are Hindu). But there will be no condemnation of the terrorists.

    3. Some anti-social act on a minority person will be obtained. In a nation of over a billion, how difficult can it be? This event will

be played again and again. Each time with a slight variation, each time with a different commentary, with a different color and context.

The western media, starved of sensationalism, is more than happy to oblige. Credibility is provided by the addition of one or more of

these intellectuals. The original incident is now magnified a thousand times, maybe a million times. It is a bit like looking at a

bacteria magnified a million times. It can be frightening. But, at the end of the day, there will be no condemnation of the terrorists.

Also, you will be left with the impression that the typical Indian villager (a hapless individual earning less than $1 a week, unlikely

to see any form of wealth in his lifetime) regularly rapes a nun after lunch. You will be left with the impression that everyday Indians

somehow deserved the Mumbai Massacre. Somehow, the Indians had it coming.

I listed above four "great social leaders." GREAT SOCIAL LEADERS. Each one will support the others. They provided the support the

terrorists were counting on even before the atrocities took place. Why? Because these so-called GREAT SOCIAL LEADERS create the climate

in which terrorists can flourish. They decried and called for the abolition of laws that once successfully prevented terrorist attacks.

It is unclear how any of us benifitted from the lapse of India's Prevention of Terrorism Act. What is clear is that 183 humans of every

race, color, creed, and way of life have been brutally massacred. And that we could have easily prevented the slaughter. And that we did

    not.

Today is December 3rd. On December 3rd, 1971 the pogrom of the Bengali Muslims by Pakistani Soldiers finally came to an end. The Pakistani Army will go down in history as the biggest killer of Muslims. Over 3 million Bengali Muslims died. Several thousand women were raped. Al Jazeera reported that afitting memorial to the greatest genocide since Hitler still needs to be made. It is time Bangladesh asked for reparations.

For the second time today I am moved to write on the subject of terror(ism). Terrorism by my definition is the use of violence as a means by a state or non state actor against civilian populations for political, religious, or ideological objectives. By that definition terrorism has existed as long as warfare. In the modern era the West has used its technological edge to subjugate entire populations. One of the more recent examples of State sponsored terrorism was "Shock and Awe" employed by the USA against the people of Iraq. As in Viet Nam the People of the East used less advanced means to respond to the West. Western societies such as the USA applaud their young people for sending drones to drop missiles on villages in Pakistan. The West then expresses horror at the "savages" that execute attacks such as that in Mumbai. One mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist. State sponsored terrorist are as criminal as non state terrorist such as those who perpetuated the crimes in India. Until terror is recognized as terror regardless of the source it will continue to be a tactic used to gain an objective. Peace, Bernard W. Saunders

" One mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist. "

Utter rubbish. A freedom fighter is one that fights for freedom, and attacks legitimate targets.

A terrorist fights for an ideology or religion, and attacks women and children.

Another good article from Fareed. I think the point is that because of the direction this entire planet is moving toward, we are all responsible for helping victims of these attacks. Then, we turn to our own citizens and help them, too. We are the world, which means we are responsible for its well-being. The international borders become hazier every day...

This involves aggression by one state on another. This is the time to put our own problems on the back burner and attend to national defence.

This IS the time to ignore "our own problems." NO?.

Why are we talking about internal problems of another nation? The issue at hand is the aggression by foreign elements. Every nation has internal problems. That does not justify aggression. Do you 911 is ok because there are poor Blacks in US?

You Muslim fanatic sympathizers should stop finding fault with everyone else and admit that you kill other Muslims, as well as innocent women and children.

A defenseless woman was tortured and murdered by your lot, simply because she was Jewish. Her 2-year-old son is now an orphan.

You claim this is your right of revenge. Will Allah forgive her murder? Does she not now deserve to be avenged?

Must the whole world stop and kiss you on the head before you'll agree to be useful for anything? Why don't you go ask your parents instead?

Also, learn to speak English properly.

      • Posted By: ike@456 @ 12/02/2008 4:52:56 PM

Oh stop making things up. You know, lying about some woman being killed because of her being Jewish would not make us hate Muslims or sympathize with Indians.

And India can never take the special place that Israel has for the United Staes. At least Israel does not come begging to us for sympathy and it does not harm those who do not harm it. It has pretty much its house in order.

Also, I don't care whether the US likes India or not. India has never depended on the US for its security. India's nuclear weapons, aircraft carriers, and fighter planes have no US technology in them, unlike some other countries I could mention.

Plus, the hindu extremists do not consider themselves as martyrs nor do they think they will get 72 virgins after their death.....like islamis militants...
