They Sould stop the weapons. But To try stopping all the drugs its not going to happen. Drugs will find a way in. Some how or another. Weed is not as bad as a lot of pills, Saliva and all these other stuff that kids get off the internet. Just try to control the small dealers We need to stop making enemies with all these people. Expecially the drug lords they probably have more bombs and weapons then the USA.

the second these cartels commited crimes in the usa shoot on sight orders should have been given also across border
tacktical strikes on cartell and last but not least any bank manager ,presadent or owner caught with cartel money be given life in prison for treason and active threat to public safety

Stop the flow of weapons! The drug cartels are more like small armies. Whenever they catch a band, the police or army shows off the weapons they were captured with: RPG's, R-15's, AK-47's, body armour, bullet proof helmets and face masks, AND THOUSANDS OF ROUNDS OF AMMO... Where do these come from? THE US of A... STOP THE FLOW!!!

The Mexican government and police Officials are also paid off by the drug cartels. That is the reason the police or government officials never stop their drug world. To them drugs are okay to pay off their wages they have no problem with that. I have been to Mexico a few times and their environment is all under corruption it is a place of crime where anyone likes to talk about it or do anything about thier life of crime. Illinois is not as bad as Mexico trust me on this one.

Of course Mexican givernment and police officials don't do anything to stop the drug cartels -- they'd lose too much money. Do you think the drug czars with bodyguards and armored cars aren't paying government officials and the policia a hefty sum so they can keep operating? All mobs do that -- from the Mafia to the Russian gangs to the tongs in any Chinatown in America. Capos/bosses regard it as part of the price of doing business, and they clearly make enough from their crimes to be able to write their protection payments off. Ask anybody who's ever been to Mexico -- every official is corrupt and everybody knows it. It's a criminal culture, run by men who are ruthless in their greed. Kind of sounds like Illinois, doesn't it?

Bring in End to Prohibition and legalize all illegal narcotices, tax and regulate them according to the legislature. The only way to end the violence and proliferation of profit seeking narco-tarafficking organizations is to repeal all narcotics possession laws. It will free up billions of taxpayer dollars tied up in the failed War on Drugs and produce tax revenues in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Most importantly it will choke out the financial lifeline of all the drug lords that are ripping Latin America apart largely unopposed by any kind of law enforcement. Ending Prohibition of Substances such as Cannibis (marijuana) are a crucial first step in combating drug violence.

Duh! How about we fully enforce immigration laws to the letter of the law. Duh! How about we get the fence built as mandated by Congress and seal the border. This ain't rocket science, people.

Just one more compeling reason to stop fighting the war on drugs,
Decriminalze it, tax the hell out of it, set up treatment centers and educate the public,.
    common sense.

IT DISGUSTS ME TO KNOW THAT THE UNITED NATIONS OR THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT ITSELF HAS NOT HANDLED THE SITUATION IN MEXICO! DRUG CARTELS ARE FAR WORST THAN ANY TERROR GROUP IN IRAQ AND AFGANISTAN! THEY PLAGUE OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY WITH DRUGS WHICH ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE ANYWHERE IN THE U.S.! THEY ARE DESTROYING OUR PEOPLE WITH ADDICTION AND KILLING OUR YOUTH WITH THEIR DRUGS! IT IS VERY OBVIOUS THAT OUR BORDER PATROL AGENTS AND BORDER CITY OFFICIALS ARE INVOLVED WITH THESE CARTELS! WHAT ARE WE HONESTLY DOING OVERSEAS WHEN OUR TROOPS SHOULD BE HERE REGULATING THE VIOLENCE IN MEXICO AND PROTECTING OUR BORDERS! I PRAY BARAK FOCUSES ON THIS ISSUE!

I'm a US citizen living in El Paso but work in the american factories in Juarez. Its a difficult year, I'm crossing the border everyday with only my ID, $40 in my pocket (in case i get carjacked, i can offer that so i wont get shot) and my passport. The American Economy is tough right now and the only place I can get a good job is at a "maquiladora" for a US company. Juarez is no mans land right now.

If you were a well-heeled black-marketeer, would you lend money to companies that would be bankrupt if they weren't being propped up? 8*)

Hey I just had a great idea why is the govt bailing out the thieves at these investment firms and banks. Why not have these companies (who probably have vast NarcoDollars in their vaults) just borrow the money from the dealers. Then the govt of USA doesnt have to worry about anything the narcos will probably want to take out the bankers, etc etc. when they dont pay em back ................why didnt I think of this sooner DUH!

You are right about the gargantuan iceburg of the underground economy created by the black market. Catherine Austin Fitts gives the best description of it I have seen. Check it out: http://www.narconews.com/narcodollars1.html

This is a very interesting article about El Paso and Juarez. Seem like this has been around before somewhere else. Maybe MIami, maybe somewhere along California. All the same the bottom line that needs to be discussed is cutting off the money that is generated from the cartels and depositied in US banks along the border and possibly in banks in other countries. Someone, somewhere knows who the owners of these large accts are, just like the money that is confiscated from terrorists, take the money of the drug dealers. There are so many defendants/informants helping the authorities to catch the so called BIG FISH its stupid. The kid thats using pot or coke and probably a social user at that is not the problem here, its the people along the borders that allow the drugs to come thru day in and day out. An old spanish proverb is so true here. Con dinero baila hasta el chango, loosely translated means even the monkey dances because of money involved.
