Profiling Lady Michelle against Lady Jackie Kennedy is meaningless and superficial. Jackie was a great lady but so is our first lady-elect. After all, the only issue, the only matter that counts is, gray matter. In my opinion, both great ladies possess all that matters and all that counts for becoming a 'great' first lady.

A dress is still a dress, a wardrobe is only cloth and tinsel. It's what upstairs that counts, and both of the First Ladies held/hold that crown and wore/will wear it beautifully and graciously. I would trade Michelle's intellect any day for a superficial outfit. After all, Hitler was quite well-dressed and well-heeled. Grace and beauty are, after all, the beauty that is at peace in the human mind and consciousness. Jackie Kennedy was gracious, but Michele possesses her style of grace, as beautiful and dignified as all the rest because, she, alone and un-adorned is still -- beautiful and full of grace as any beautiful and great lady. None of us are, our adornment; it is inside that counts, that only and always is the only thing that matters.

Someone explain to me this pathetic forced attempt to equate the natural grace and breeding of Jackie Kennedy and the stridently obnoxious Michelle Obama. What this "O" & "O" crud? Jackie didn't get the "O" until her husband had been assinated....

Yes, breeding is a good word for when you go with other women's husband's. I am sure Jackie was a nice enough woman, but come on class....I don't think so, Just born with a silver spoon in her mouth.

Two such distinctlvley differenct personages as Jaqueline Kennedy and Michelle Obama need never be compared.. Jackie Kennnedy and Michelle Obama cannot be put into a slot. They are individulals of their own brilliance and we should be happy that they are/were.

Kristyc3 clearly you are a racist and an idiot. I dare say your level of intellect is no where near MO's or mine either for that matter. And yes I am a minority with a Master's myself. And in case you're unsure of the meanings of either racist or idiot, google them, I'm sure you'll find a picture of yourself.

The author of this piece is either Republican or stupid or both. Michelle Obama has a law degree (which is a doctorate) and therefore only she and Hillary Clinton have comparable educational background. Including Laura Bush in the group is inappropriate.

The man is a media creation and his wife is a noby...GET OVER IT!

Both women are strong, smart and mothers to young children.. Jackie O's strength was maintaining her identify despite being surrounded by hordes of Kennedy's. Michelle is an educated, successful professional women who's marriage is not her primary identity. She excudes the confidence of those solid, substantive foundations.

Americans will have the honor and pleasure of watching Michelle Obama be a whole different kind of first lady.

    Go Michelle!

No comparison between the two - nor perhaps should there be. Jackie had high couture class - Michelle just doesn't.... but then the times are not what they were. The constant availability of information about the President Elect and his wife evident today eliminates the 'air of royalty' which was a large part of the Jackie mystique.
Two very different women - two very different times

C'mon, there is about as much likeness between the 2 ladies as there might be, say between her husband and the outgoing one. And, why for pity sake, can't the darn media let Michelle BE HER OWN WOMAN, observe her, and leave the darn clothing issue (remember the hullabaloo about Sarah's wardrobe??) alone. This woman has a lot more on her mind than clothes, and the media SHOULD be more interested in her achievements, her promise for the future as the First Lady, and her upcoming accomplishments....LET THE CLOTHES THING DIE PLEASE. If you can't find something more interesting to report on than clothes, then you should be a Hollywood reporter where THEY care about what you wore to the store on Rodeo Drive. Americans do NOT care one iota about Mrs. Obama's clothes and you shouldn''t either. The country is in a state of disarray and financial turmoil, and all you write about is clothes???? Get to the REAL REPORTING or don't you know how???

For Tzord99: "PUNtificate?" Are you serious? You need to go back and study some more vocabulary before you try your own "Pontification".

If Hillary had been elected would they be discussing Bill's attire? . . . . still a long way to go, Baby!
