Every single one of those men helped to destroy the world economy and the government should require every single dime of compensation be returned to shareholders for the pain caused by idiots who were at the helm of failed U.S. banks. Those men knew exactly what would happen by taking bad loans (and if they didn't, it makes my case even stronger) and are basically thieves who ran a ponzi scheme. What makes them any different than Tom Petters - the indicted crook from Minnesota. U.S. Bank guarded their shareholders by practicing sound business practices, not greed. How they can sleep at night is beyond me. So sad to see what our country allows... so sad.

And here's betting that "Sir Fred" walks off the stage , into his retirement, with his pockets full. The elites of the world take good care of themselves and each other. I don't think this is exactly incompetence... they only "failed" from the perspective of their customers and employees... these pirate executive classes have done quite well for themselves. Their performance was only incompetent if their objective was to administer healthy, profitable corporations... if their intent was actually larceny all along, they were wildly successful.

Excellent article. Nice to see America has no monopoly on incompetence!
