    Another liberal media source trying to shove this abhorrent lifestyle down our throats! I believe your polls are skewed to align with your agenda. If you think that the percentages of Americans quoted are supportive of gay marriage, then you're talking to a very focused group of people. The Apostle Paul prophesied that in the last days, "men would be lovers of themselves", and would by that, be practicing affections that were unnatural. This is the time he was speaking of. Come to think of it though, gay marriage would be a cure to Al Gore's global warming. Just think, if all guys/guys and woman/woman were homosexual (yes, I said homosexual), then mankind would cease to exist. I mean, really, when was the last time you saw a guy get pregnant when his "hunk a burning love" made a connection with his honey pot? I have a good friend who is a homosexual. He's a good man, kind and caring. But if you think that I would ever approve of his lifestyle? Never!!!

    As a MarIJuana advocate for 50 years we have been tasting defeat after defeat for legalization. But still we accept the democratic process. You dont see us making a scene and pushing our weight around after each heartbreaking loss. You gay's have not nearly the numbers of advocates as us Marijuana Legalization .
    Yet we take our lumps and try the DEMOCRATIC WAY AGAIN. You like ourself's have to just accept it and hope for a better day....

    can everyone please please STOP saying a ban against same sex marriage is unconstitutional, and look up Baker v. Nelson and the Supreme Court's ruling on it....

    It has been quoted as precedence SEVERAL times in different states and has NOT been overturned by SCOTUS.

    For the goverment to allow gays to adopt or allow children from a previous relationships to stay in the home is wrong!!!!! That shows this behavior is okay when it is totally disgusting!!!!!

    Just like other American minority groups, gay Americans have finally begun to successfully mobilize their efforts at obtaining equal rights under the protection of the US Constitution. Part of this is due to the tremendous amount of public education that has occurred over these past several weeks following the tumultuous results of the recent Prop 8 vote in the State of California.

    The American people are realizing what citizens in other countries have already recognized, and that it is not the role of government to discriminate with regards to one of the the most intimate of our civil rights which is the right to marry. It is becoming much more clear to Americans that preservation of our civil liberties must prevail over discrimination against any minority group, whether that be their race or sexual orientation. Not only is a ban against gay marriage unconstitutional, but it would be such a violation of our nation's historical observation of Separation of Church & State. Current state bans on gay marriage are simply painful reminders of the past mistakes our nation has made against minority groups with regards to the inalienable rights that are deserving of ALL Americans no matter what their race , gender, religion, ethnicity or even their sexual orientation happens to be, if they are a citizen of the United States of America. God Bless America

    I think a loud few think they are the majority!!! People clearly do NOT support Gay marriage and to aske everyone to accept this nonsense as fact is ludicrous!! If you consider that this "gay is normal" garbage is being shoved down everyones throat and you still cannot get a vote in one of the most liberal states in the country. I contend that under 5% of the country approve of gay marriage!!

      5% eh? Well since an estimated TEN PERCENT of Americans are GAY, does that mean 5% of them don't want marriage? What about the children they are raising? They don't want their parents to be married?

      It's a civil rights issue. We are all EQUAL according to the founding document of our democracy. Isn't treating everyone equal the American thing to do?

      As long as "straights" see gays as second class citizens, they will never understand their struggle. Get past your fear, ignorance, and homphobia and stop using your religious bigotry as an excuse to hate. That is something Jesus loathed. The gays WILL be able to get married. Their day is coming.

      To declare someone else's love as wrong is to not really understand love at all.

GAYS are not special. they are not some special group that needs rights anymore than ANY OTHER sexual behavior. When the people who plactice wife swapping are able to marry COUPLE TO COUPLE... when the man,boy love association get to marry their willing boy lovers, when a mexican can PAY to marry their way into citizenship...THEN gays can marry. I see no reason why they should be sectioned into a grouyp. they are trying to have a gay highschool. If they are so special, then so are fat people. perhaps there should be a fat person highschool too!!!

    Marriage is what it is, why should we change an institution that straight couples feel is extremely important to us. The majority of Americans feel that marriage should be between a man and a woman and that is all there is to it. Our society in America is not insensitive to this issue due to the fact that Americans have agreed to let same sex couples have civil unions with the same exact benefits as marriage, as well to same sex couples have the right to be with who they want to be with. This tells me, through common sense, that same same sex couples seem to want to be married just as a right to say that they are married. This is not the definition or the historical configuration of marriage. I am not gay and can't answer this for sure, but why don't same sex couples come up with an institution of their own? Why must same sex couples try to change another persons beliefs to achieve a goal of their own. This is the United States of America and they same sex couples do have the right to create their own institution, they just can't call it marriage. It seems to me that same sex couples are the ones being insensitive! We (straight people) are not telling same sex couples to change anything, they are telling us that we have to change the definition of the institution that we believe in. Hopefully, I have stimulated a response from a party that feels differently and I would love some insight.

    I don't know anyone who now supports the gay movement after their temper tantrum over Prop 8 and their insulting of Black people by blaming them for the passing and comparing gay sex to the Civil Rights Movement. I do however know at least 5 people who are mad because they were late to work because gays protested in the middle of traffic and made them miss work. And I do know about 2 people who were turned off after they found out about the White powder and terrorizing churches. I don't believe this poll for a minute!

    Those who enter a civil union do NOT have the same rights as married couples... here is a list of some examples of the very many rights couples with domestic partnership status do not get in contrast with a married couple:

    This whole notion that the public support is growing for same sex marriage is ludicrous and untrue!! If the most left wing state in the country cannot get support for the whole issue, what makes anybody think the rest of the country has any support for the issue. Someone has previously mentioned this but it ISN'T natural. Life would cease to exist if it were natural!! Just the facts!!
