    The US now and 100 years ago: there were less illegal immigrants back then, less corporate greed, less drug addicts, less homosexuals and the world had a lot less problems than it does now. Needless to say the world is a BETTER place without these!!

BTW, if you are really serious about eliminating us homosexuals, it will take you a while and you will need at least 300 million bullets, one for each homosexual man woman and child - more if you miss.

    Its not venting hate . God loves the homosexual but hates their sin. Homosexuality is so horrilbe to God that is never even to be thought. Supporting homosexuality is sending someone to hell. This is not hate in any way but just understanding God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

      Well since from a legal stand point children can't give legal consent, so it would be NEVER. The two issues are not even remotely similar and it doesn't take a genius to see that. What you are proposing is known as a slipper-slope argument, making the claim that allowing one thing will automatically follow that some outrageous and completely unrelated thing will happen. It is an old fashioned scare tactic, and not even remotely a valid argument (look up the definition of a valid argument). Just a 411 also the vast majority of pedophiles are self-identified heterosexuals. Interesting isn't it?

It is a statment more about the fact that the majority is saying what rights people should and should not have. If it was not for circumventing the majority women would not be able to own property for one, and seperate but equal laws would still exist. This is purely about social injustice. I am really supprised you can't see that.

              Addressing states that passed the gay marriage ban. People here seem to favor majority rule, let???s take a look at it. Being a majority does not make you right. The majority in the Bible at the time crucified Christ. During WWII the majority of Germans supported Hitler. Being in a majority doesn???t make you right; it just means there are more of you. If majority rule had, had its way women would not be able to own land or property, and there would still be segregation. Court intervention circumvented popular vote because it was deemed a violation of our Constitution and its guarantee of fundamental rights.
              The religious argument is interesting too. Some say you must believe the literal 'Word' of the bible, and those people often quote Leviticus to support their hatred (yes it's hatred) of homosexuality. The funny thing is those people who say you should take the literal 'Word' don't seem to follow the other things listed in Leviticus, which if you don't then you are not following the 'Word' your are picking and choosing like you accuse those who don't think the Bible should be used to alienate the homosexual population. Proof of this is at least one passage I never see followed. In Leviticus it says that any child who defies their parents must be put to death. Picking and choosing is not following the 'Word'.
              Then there is the fact that the Bible itself states quite plainly that all sins are equal in the eyes of God. Makes me wonder when it was that the faithful figured they had the right to elevate sins since God said they were equal.
              For those who call themselves Christian 'followers of Christ' do you think when you meet him he will pat you on the back and say 'you hated all the right people' or do you think he would just be ashamed? I am betting on ashamed. Don't say it isn't hate, because you know in your heart it is. Hate spawned in fear but hate none the less.
              Remember once the bible was used as an excuse to hate black people, because they bore the mark of Cain, or so the excuse went. Funny how we use the Bible isn???t it?

      knsav Your comment is so illogical, I can't believe I hit the reply button. All the examples you gave can in no way be equated with love between two people of the same gender. Serial murder? Rape? Wife beating? All of these are either criminal acts punishable by imprisonment, because they cause harm to or even the death of another human being. As for Alcoholism, well that is a serious illness that also frequently causes premature death, and in life causes brain malfunction and long term damage, personality change and destroys trust and love in families. Alcoholism prevents individuals from achieving their potential both as fully functionnig human beings on both a persona level and in their careers.

      Now let's turn to homosexuality. I have held down a stable job for over 40 years of a successul professional career. I have no illnesses. I have excellent relationships with my family and many friends and colleagues. In retirement i have started a new business that is running at a small profit and showing steady growth. According to you, this 'lifestyle' of me, a homosexual, is on a par with those who seek to cause harm to others. Now I am wondering why I typed all these words, since you obviously have not the ability to distinguish a murderer from a homosexual.

      toomanysheep Exactly how are a committed couple (whether straight or gay) going to be able to spread HIV/AIDS? Surely you should be welcoming something that is the antithesis of promiscuity. AIDS is spread mainly through unprotected sex, and does not discriminate, as you do, on the basis of sexual orientation. If it can get in, it gets in. While we're on the subject, by far the overwhelming majority of sufferers from AIDS acquired not through being in a monogamous gay relationship, but through casual heterosexual sex. Where are all the campaigners seeking to abolish heterosexuality since so many more straights in the world (not the Western world, but the entire world, most notably in Africa) have HIV/AIDS? They're nowhere to be seen of course, because it suits your constituency's agenda to blame gays for everything from earthquakes (yes it has been done, by the Emperor Justinian) to the collapse of civilisation as we know it.

      JJames2121 This old chestnut God supposedly hating the way he made us (oriented towards the same sex) is comletely irrelevant, since homosexuality is neither a sin nor a crime, but is a commonly occurring sexual orientation that is natural for a minority of people. All the homosexuals known to me, including myself are in all accepted respects, model citizens, posing no threat to you whatsoever. We're not trying to prevent you from hooking up with whomever you like. It's none of our business to interefere in your personal relationships, the way you continually seek to interfere with ours. You are perfectly happy to accept the taxes we work for and pay into the exchequer, so butt out.

      gemmy Without you in my community, thankfully I am living a very full and fruitful life, and no I was never molested by anybody either when I was a child nor at any other time. However I strongly suspect you may have been. Many people who have been sexually abused as children grow up confusing this predatory assault witth homosexuality, as clearly you do, and hate homosexuals as a result. Was it a family member who abused you? That is the most common source of sexual assaults upon defenceless, trusting children.

      If you seek counselling, you can overcome your fear of and ignorance about homosexuality, and deal with the sexual assaults you clearly must have suffered as a child. Just because this happened in your case, you have wrongly come to the conclusion that the assaults you suffered were in some way connected with homosexuality. Let me assure you that nothing could be further from the truth as any careful research into the facts will attest. I am very sorry if this happened to you, and I can only say how glad I am that it never happened to me.

          gemmy this is not your website, but I am glad you have it, because it is obvious that you need it for yourself. I have no need of it for myself, as everything is going brilliantly well for me and has done for most of my adult life. I am not intending to have any kids of my own as you suggest, have you forgotten in so short a space of time that I am homosexual? I have carefully re-read my posts to you, to see if I could find what you thought would make me so unsuitable as a parent, but all I can find is my rational responses to your irrational and hysterical fabrications. That you consider common sense a bad quality for a parent can only further raise my concerns about your own mental health and suitability to be left alone with children.

    Contrary to the comments of the APA, a well known bunch of nuts, homosexuality is just another form of mental illness and should be treated as such. Homosexuals need to get some serious mental health care and find out where their deviancy started and how to stop it and become another mentally healthy, productive member of our society. Why don't we just allow the lonely sheep farmer to marry his favorite sheep? "Homosexuals" need to shut the hell up and leave the matter to their new found psychiatrist to deal with so that the rest of the population can continue to enjoy mental health and continue to be productive members of our society.

Psychiatrists belong to the APA whom you brand as "a bunch of nuts" because their scientific research and conclusion does not fit neatly with your prejudice. If your desire for all us homosexuals to procreate were actually realised, you would have brought forth Armageddon, by making roughly 300 million homosexuals into parents (*based on 4% of population openly gay, as at exit polls from 2004 US Census) and absolutely swamping an already groaning planet with billions of children when we cannot feed, clothe and house those that are already here.

      There is no evidence that I am mentally ill, but there is plenty of evidence that I am not. By evidence, I mean a lifetime of service to my community, a good education, career, friendships, close family ties. not things you would normally associate with a nutter.

    LIke others, I was not polled. As usaul Newsweek is quite slanted in their opions and in their support for their causes. I've read many of these post and am amused at best, to continue to hear the same lines, arguments and so forth. First, one should remember that the DNA has been mapped. Geuss what, No GAY GENE found. So, scientific prove exist that homosexuality is not inherited, nor are you born that way. A mutation in your gene pool. NOT, therefore it is a chosen life style.
    As for the Bible, all those who say that this issue is not addressed within the pages of the Bible are wrong. Sodum and Ghamora were destroyed over this. However, remember that sexual imorality applies to all of it. Heterosexual behavior outside of marriage is wrong as well, and is an abomination also. No one gets a free pass on this. Ever person has a chose to make in this life. You either to chose to believe in something or you will fall for anything.
    If you want to believe that your choice don't effect others, then you are wrong. However, those in the homosexual community here, understand, that your choices are just that yours. You get to keep them. You do not have the right to force those choices on others. Your cause is not equal to the Civil Rights of the 60's. Your grasping at straws to win a cause you are not entitled to.
    People opose this lifestyle, because inheriantly it is wrong and against the very fiber of survival. If all people were gay, then reproduction would stop. That is not a part of the natural process of survival.
    You may argue all you want, continue to push your agenda, defend your position, You may even win by law. However, you will not ever make all people accept or celebrate your choice. As for God and His word. I think I will believe Him over you. As He is the creator, not you.

          Where is there hate, except from those who may differ from your opinion and those who are willing to stand firm against you and your will. The only people using the hate language are those who are forcing their will on the rest of people. 33 states have voted to amend their state constitutions towards marriage. That is a reality. The only people showing hate are those who have not won.
          As for knowing the Bible, I know that sexual immorality of any kind is wrong. It is not limited to homosexuals, it is for all people. Your choices are your choices. There are consequences to all choices, right or wrong. If you feel judged by your choices then maybe you should think about those choices, stop making excuses for them. There are reasons that people are against these behaviors. And it is a behavioral choice. The rights that you say you are entitled to do are natural rights, not behavioral rights. The homosexual community is purposfully distorting the two. And when that doesn't work, you will try another route. You dislike the Christian community with such distaste, not because they oppose you, but because it frustrates you. If your cause was in the best interest of all people and not just yourselves, then maybe the country would be supportive of you as a whole. But it is a selfcentered cause that you fight for. It is a cause that will continue to cause a decline in our country.
          Yes, the may come when you force your will upon all people, but you can never make us celebrate your lifestyle, nor will ever have what you want the most. Approval. Like it or not, that is the reality. The law may say you can have the same benefits, but the approval, you wil never have.

Our best interesets in now way interefere with your happiness, but yours historically have had draconian and catastrophic effects on ours. It is small wonder that so many homosexuals have been turned off religion.

      Homosexuality is not a choice. I did not choose it. You did not decide to be straight, you are naturally that way and therefore cannot understand why everyone is not just the same as you. Fortunately Mother Nature has ensured that you won't be able to impose absolute uniformity on all of us, otherwise we might all end up being left handed geniuses with red hair.

      You have your own limited view of God and creation, but others have theirs too, and it does not include the represseion of a homomsexual minority.

      Even if there does turn out to be a gay gene, or some other scientifically provable predisposition, this won't change your mind because your particular translation of the Holy Bible allows you to congratulate yourself each and every day to choose to be a heterosexual, despite all your contrary homosexual predilections.

    If people knew what gays do in privacy, there would be many more who oppose it...its discustting. Secondly, as long as we have kids in school and very influencial, we have every right as straight people to deny rights to gays haviving rights in the work place (teachers) expecially). Additionally, they cant reproduce children. They have to come to the straight community for adoption, and that gives us another RIGHT to say no to their influence in society. So we are effected by gay rights and we have EVERY RIGHT to oppose them.

As for me, well it doesn't digust me at all, nor any of my family, friends or colleagues. By the way, there is nothing that gays do that heterosexuals don't also do. If you're referring to anal intercourse, that is practised by some gays, true, but it is also practised by heterosexuals as well, often within the confines of matrimony.

      We homosexuals actually can reproduce children, many of us have already done so thorugh having been forced into marrying someone we don't love by the likes of you, oftentimes with tragic consequences for both partner and children. It is just as well that all 300 million of don't start reproducing - how are you going to feed the billions that will result?

      So far as us "coming to the straight world for adoption" is concerned, excuse me, but aren't these children there because you heterosexuals don't want them? You have the unfettered right to make as many babies as you want, no matter that so many of you are drug addicts, pedophiles, abusers, rapists, murderers, every one of you can do it all you like.

    Is the only problem really just the fact that it is the word "marriage" that people have some sort of special attachment to? Because I would gladly get a civil union if it came with the same rights, benefits, and social acceptance as a marriage, but the fact is, it doesn't. There are over 1000 benefits legally obtained by married people that are not included in civil unions or domestic partnership including the right to have that partnership recognised in the eyes of the law no matter where you recieved that union or where you live now

    Gay is not the new black. Gay isn't even close to black. Blacks are nearly than 13% of the U.S. population according to the 2006 census (http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.html). Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, and Transgendered individuals make up 1.51% of the population (http://www.adherents.com/adh_dem.html). There are more Mormons in the U.S. at 1.93% (http://www.adherents.com/adh_dem.html). So, why don't we have special rights for Mormons? It's because the media is run by the ultra left. Why not give more media attention to people that suffer from heart problems, cancer, and genetic disease? They make up a much larger percentage of the population. And for those that believe in God, which is 80% of Americans, homosexuality is forbidden in the Bible. "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.... If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them??? (Lev. 18:22, 20:13). Following God's law is not hate, hardening of the heart, or bigotry. God's laws preempt all human laws. In our country, the majority rules all the time, not just when the media and the left (interchangeable in my opinion) are happy with the outcome.

    Dear WILDWONDERFUL, Our country was created on separation of church and state. I don't care what God says about homosexuality because he does not dictate our government. And just for your information and everyone else out there, not everyone is a Christian and believes in God and what the bible teaches. So only to you and your faith is it a sin. God created man and women in his perfect image. That means that God himself was a little bit Gay! Take your religion out of politics and realize that telling gays that they cant get married is a form of hate. We are telling them that they are a lesser citizen and they don't deserve the same rights as everyone else. Christians are not the SUPER race and they are not the final word. If you oppose it, don't let them marry inside your religion. Otherwise, you have no say in the matter.

    First of all, why would we care about any newsweek poll? They slant thngs the way they want them to go. Secondly, how many times do people have to vote down gay marriage? I don't care if they want to be together. Don't tell me they have trouble seeing each other in hospitals.. hospitals allow for significant others. The people have spoken!! NO to gay marriage!

    I disagree with all Hets and breeders....no matter what type of ignorant comments that they make on this liberal blog! Why do they even bother to comment....they are becoming the increasing minority....look around HETS we are EVERYWHERE...and guess what...were not going away until you stop fornicating......
