      It occurred to me today that if an atheist and a religious proselytizer get into a discussion, the proselytizer can say any number of things that fly in the face of what the atheist thinks, and that is ok, because, after all, god is on the side of the proselytizer. But if the atheist says something to the religious proselytizer in opposition to this belief, that is simply rude, because it is just one person talking to another. For instance it is ok for the proselytizer to say you must believe in his god to go to have eternal life, but it is just rude for the atheist to make a comment about believing in invisible friends even after you have outgrown childhood.adult.

    I thought this a well done article. There was one connection that I thought could be better made. The human discovery of the effects of a Calorie Restriction diet (CR diet) is the first time the human race has been able to show how to extend the maximum lifespan of animals. This was discovered in the 1930's, but it was not until the advances of microbiology in the latter part of the 20th century, that scientists began to focus on just how the CR Diet was able to extand maximum life span. Note that other advances discussed are a product of this research.

    Depending on how we define the essense of life, longer life could mean medical help to live longer; or sleeping less (longer life awake); working hard ( more productive life); or...more Viagra (longer sex life)

    Since 1960 the cost of health care in this country has risen from 5% of the GDP to over 16%. Life expectancies have increased by about 8 years. The search for longer life is far less complicated than the search for the money to pay for it. Maybe we would be better served to live our lives better while we have the chance than to expect to make up for wasting our youth by spending money we don't have when we get older.

    This passage reminds me of most of my friends spending plenty of momey reserveing their skin and keeping youth, but now i know clealy that good moods., a health and routine diet, excessive exercise will keep you in beauty and youth , as well as save your energy ,momey and time.
