First off, thanks to gigido; I was disturbed by that grammatical error as well. One hopes Mr. Bunin isn't grading these tests.

But to me it sounds like the CB is really in the position to change the admissions process if they were serious. If students (i.e., their paying customers) only want to send one grade, the CB should only send one grade. The schools can demand whatever they like, but if the CB respects the students wishes, the schools will be none the wiser.

It's really up to colleges and universities to change the industry surrounding testing and admissions. The College Board, ETS, Prometric, and all of the other test companies run a real racket on families and exploit parents' and students' hopes of pursuing higher education. The fees for these tests and review courses are so high that they really give the wealthy an even greater advantage, not to mention feeding into the hysteria of test-taking as something more important than actual learning.

As our school are, for the most part, not world class, how do these compare with the best of our main trade competitors or some other measure might be helpful. The real problem is is that there is no standard for our schools either. What does a high school diploma mean in the US?

The general manager of the SATs doesn't know his grammar. "Fewer kids" not "less kids" take the SATs.
