We seem doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. The Great Depression spawned the rise of Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and Roosevelt. All left wing in ideology. The modern progressive movement goes back to Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. They believed government owned all property and only allowed the transient citizenry to use it temporarily. Now we have the exact same dynamic playing out again and the end result will likely be the same. The left wing power grab over the economy and our lives will not ease the financial crisis. It will make it worse and the world will fragment, resulting in another great conflict. How the global dynamic will play out is anyone's guess and what countries will ally is yet to be determined. We are in for a decade of turmoil and trouble at the very least and whether the US will survive or whether personal liberty and freedom will prevail is very much in doubt. The Marxists are gaining power. I fear for my country, my children and my grandchildren.

Why American poke their nose in everything the world ? Everything ends up in interest of US as the whole world is the property of US government. CIA has outgrown and hopefully the economic crisis in US would teach them a lesson to think within US only.

When there's a catastrophe, people ask, "Will the US help?" We send money, food, people to lands you can't even pronounce. You don't hear complaints then. Hell, we don't even get a thank you. When we strike at people who attacked us, we have the RIGHT to defend ourselves. You like it here? Doing the "dirty work" in our national interests allow you to be free. Move to China and complain there. See how long ur free. INGRATE.

Trendy, you misread the article -and its subtitle too- : the Chinese govt. doesn't blame a foreign scapegoat for its economic problems but use one to distract the attention of its population by boosting nationalism reaction. An obvious example -not mentionned here unfortunately- is their official threat of economic retaliation to France because President Sarkozy met the Peace Nobel Prize Dalai-Lama. They claim that France is responsible for this "insult" and it is now the responsibility of France to fix and apologize. Hope this helps to understand the kind of tricks the Chinese are capable of.

Its plain silly to suggest that the Chinese government would blame a foreign scapegoat for its economic problems. This is the style and practice of the American government, not the Chinese.
In any case, I don't believe the Chinese embassy was accidentally bombed in Belgrade. It was the American military way of telling the Chinese who is boss.
