Funny how when these people where sufferent under caucasion terrorism by the british no one said anything, when people were being abuse by europeans no one said anything, now Mugabe has stood up for himself and the west hates him. Typical europeans when things don't go your way blame everyone you hate, this is the sad history of the west, but soon people will get what is coming to them rest asure europeans your day of redemption is upon you.

It's not about the West,Colonialism etc.It is about innocent people suffering because of poverty and disease in a country run by a man that does not seem to care about his people's plight and doing nothing to rectify the problems there. It's about a man unwilling to to give up political power for his own selfish and distorted reasons. It's about Mugabe still seeing himself and Zimbabwe as a victim of the West. Even Nelson Mandela has called for him to step down.So its not about the old back vs white story which you seem to use as an excuse while children are dying. The past is the past;what matters is now. What are we doing now to save people there from disaster?Because to me you sound exactly the same as your "enemy" who you say never cared when people suffered during colonial times.

I remember when Zimjbabwe was called Rhoidesha & it was the breadbasket of Southern Africa. The world pressured the minority whlite government run by Ian Smith to rellinquish power in the name of giving native africans a voice in their destiny. Now the whole country is in crisis. The world should have let well enoungh go unchanged.

First gerry learn how to spell, secondly Zimbabwe with chinas help is acually growing, thrirdly it's america and britain that are failing the world and that need Black people to be their saviours and rescue them from their own white trash nazi filth, son I suggest you finish you GED then talk a mans game OK boy !!!

      • Posted By: taiwangirl25 @ 12/16/2008 2:27:53 AM

Maybe you should learn to spell first. Firstly, we capitalize people's names. Secondly, when use a possessive use an apostrophe (China's). THIRDLY, American and Britain area names, like China, and should also be capitilized. So maybe instead of wasting time here blaming people for the world's problems. Maybe you should attend a class or two yourself. Then I would gladly love to read your opinions in a properly formed paragraph.

This is just another sad spiral into poverty and dispair post colonialism. I agree with Gerrywebber, Ian Smith was no saint , but at least there was a basic , working infrastructure. Now there is nothing, and the international community just wrings it's hand and does NOTHING!

Mugabe is doing a great job. He knows that he has to thin the population of Zimbabwe. He had to get rid of the white farmers to establish credibility among black Zimbabweans, He knows that the black Zimbabweans don't know diddly about farming. Cholera will help him meet his goals.

    • Posted By: phantom07 @ 12/15/2008 6:33:29 PM

When is Mugabe finally get arrested and imprisoned for the rest of his wretched life. His hatred and forced removal of white farmers caused massive starvation for blacks who have been persecuted and murdered by his rogue regime. He allows trophy hunters to massacre elephants and the nation's other priceless wildlife species People are dying via Aids, cholera and starvation because of him. He's evil incarnate.

Why all the fuss about Zimbabwe, and not, say, the Central African Republic? Could the reason be that Zimbabwe has the world's second largest reserves of platinum, and other rare metals much in demand in Western industrial societies? Take a look at a company called Zimplats, based in London, and the real reason why Mr Mugabe is being persecuted will become clear.

    • Posted By: ndai @ 12/15/2008 4:36:32 PM

True on the platinum side but still man he has to go he has messed up in the past ten years and he old its time for the young people to take over. HE has contributed to the hurting of a lot of fellow Zimbos so he gots to go

  • Posted By: ndai @ 12/15/2008 4:31:36 PM

Firstly who said the land rightfully belonged to the white famers, thats a wrong statment ( am trying very hard to be pc) Tha land that yall are talking about belonged to the africans well befor them famers =land on it. Hapna zamunoziva ( yall know jack) Now yes thing s worked during Smiths time, jeezz things worked till we decided to get our land back, and mind you that was part of the lancaster agreemant only that the British Govenment promised to compasate the White Farmers then they recanted. So mugabe waited out of good Fatih (which I think was the mistake) but he did, yalls leaders did not want to let go of power itheir. Do not get me wrong I think it is time for him to leave but dio not get hings jaded white colonists came in and enslaved our people made them less than human treated them worse than they treated thier dogs.Thats why we fought you try having your poeple treated like that and see wether or not you would rebel. Yes Bob has to go yes he has messed up omly in the last 9years. Take it from a person who grew up in this country things were good until we wanted our land back. HUm I wonder why?!1 Yeah
Take that and think on it

The book of revelation is composed mostly of some serious bedrock gibberish, edburns.

By the way, what does "real soon" mean? People have been saying that for 2,000 years. Don't you end of the worlders ever get tired of being flat out wrong?

    Geez, get a life.

  • Posted By: edburns123 @ 12/10/2008 12:19:09 PM

Want to know what happens next? Get yourself a Bible and turn to the book of REVELATION. Then get yourself right with God because he's comming back real soon!

It's a wonderful thing, what the majority africans have done with the state that was stolen from the rightful owners who happened to be white. Great job that's been done. Maybe someday Maybe someday politics will understand that forcibly taking property from any group does not make them a leader - and giving that property to another ill prepared group won't make them farmers.

  • Posted By: EuroTrash @ 12/09/2008 7:42:40 PM

Its a sad story. If were just going to wait around for Bob to get sick of people dying, then we might as well just turn out the lights, close the door and consider returning after he dies. That man would rather see every Zimbabwean starve to death than loosen his grip on power.

Western officials call for Mugabe to go, but then they send "aid" to Zimbabwe. Anything sent into a country whose borders and territory are controlled by the forces of such a regime is sent TO that regime... they will control it. Whatever form that aid may take, money, food, medicine, the only guarantee is that the regime will use it to preserve or advance its own power. Such "assistance" to the people of Zimbabwe acts only to prolong their misery. It may be unwise, presumptious or wrong for western powers to unseat Mugabe by force, but surely it is just as unwise, presumptious and wrong to, in effect, pay him to stay on in power by sending any resources whatsoever (however well-intentioned).
