Of course, Obama knew nothing about this! MARK MY WORDS-----it is only a matter of time.............

"Of course, Obama knew nothing about this! "

That's what the FBI has stated.

Someone told Blago, he would only get "appreciation", then Blago said F*** them. Obambi will fry his inter-idoits to cover himself and throw all under the bus. Get ready for constant turmoil and backstabbing. So this is the CHANGE barry promised. Poor Jesse Jr. will now miss out becuse he knows how all chicago thugs pay to play. Seems like Hillary needs to come back sooner and clean up Bill.... um, Barry messes. Isn't it great to have Dems in control again. Wont be seeing the Messiah taking office, Dont care.

The problem, I think, is that, in some peoples' fantasy worlds politicians are clean and above reproach. These individuals' WOULD NEVER elect anybody who's ever done anything or known anybody even remotely controversial.

In the real world, however, we have a two party political system that prevents (by hook and by crook) anybody of decency from achieving anything other than a minor local (or possibly state) seat. They're ALL crooked. Every last one of them. You simply cannot be successful in American politics without being dirty. Period.

      Yes, Virginia, even Obama.

The difference, so far, is that, rather than helping the crooks that helped him, Obama appears to be leaving them high and dry - pushing them in front of the bus at almost every opportunity...it's almost Clintonesque. I, for one, cannot believe that any of these people would pull an Oliver North and take a bullet for an obvious lyer - Blaggy himself said Obama's people wouldn't play ball. That, and the fact that he hasn't done anything to keep them out of jail, leads me to believe (and admittedly, hope) that he isn't simply issuing no-bid contracts, holding secret energy policy meetings or giving away federal agencies (like, oh, say, FEMA!) to his cronies.

So just let them live in the land of lollipops and Oompah Loompahs and go on believing the pedophiles and bathroom perves who preach family values or, even better, the draft dodgers who preach national security while handing airforce contracts to foreign companies.

I'm sure they're much more blissful in their ignorance.

      Love,

      JM

Here we go again, now it's only a matter of time? For what? More nonsense? Just stop it D. It didn't take you long to try to blame Obama for this too.

What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? While there has been a lot of trash talking by the US Attorney, has there been any proof that the Gov. actually did anything illegal, except use bad judgement regarding what he said on the phone.? And if they've been investigating him for 3 years, why has it taken so long to arrest him? To me, it looks like they had to do something to justify all the man hours and money they spent on the investigation. Lets also remember the Duke Lacross team and what the eventual outcome was. Before the public gets ready to stone the Gov., lets all take a step back and wait fo the indictment. I bet theUS Attroney is trying like he_ _ to get a plea agreement and avoid a trial.

What rhymes with Blagojevich? Try son-of-a-$%^&*

  • Posted By: jajuan323 @ 12/10/2008 9:22:49 PM

Well if you consider #6 a contender I suppose so. There was a survey done within the past 24 hours rating each state by the number of elected officials arrested and convicted of corruption, and Illinois was 6th on that list. The top two spots are held by Louisiana and Mississippi, respectively, both of which are Republican strongholds. So you really can't pin things on just the Democrats. And just so you know Republicans have been just as guilty when it comes to corrupt behavior in Illinois. Also like I mentioned in my previous post, both Democrats and Republicans overwhelming through in their support and most importantly votes to pass the new upcoming ethics law that Blagojevich tried to do an end run around. It's not necessarily Democrats being in charge that's a problem. The problem has been Blagojevich himself with how he's tried to bully the legislature especially those in his own party which I always found ridiculous.

  • Posted By: John Dough @ 12/10/2008 9:09:08 PM

Robert Grant, the supervising FBI agent on the case, said that if "Illinois is not the most corrupt state" in the nation, "it is a hell of a competitor."

Fitzpatrick said he was stunned by the brazen nature of Blagojevich's behavior, a man who had come into office promoting himself as a great reformer of Illinois politics.

Corrupt state corrupt democratic party this is the danger of having one party control everything. If Quinn gets to name a new senator it should not be a dem or GOP name an independent non politician

As someone who actually lives in Illinois, I can say with certainty that the President-elect has virtually no contact with Blagojevich in the past couple of years. As a matter of fact, very few elected Illinois Democratic officials had much contact with the governor during this same time period if they could help it. With the increasinglly tight federal investigation, Blagojevich has been a bigger pariah for Democrats in this state with each passing day. They absolutely hate to be in his presence. None of the state's budget sessions have gone smoothly under this governor because virtually everyone hates his guts, especially the Illinois House Speaker. Obama's people wouldn't even let the governor speak at the convention, and he definitely wasn't seen at the Election night celebration at Grant Park here in Chicago because they wanted no part of him. So I find it hard to believe that they'd lobby him to put someone of their choice in the Senate. Blagojevich's profane words about Obama and his camp confirms what a lot of us locals already knew, which is Blagojevich had no love for Obama because Obama shied away from the old ways of doing Chicago and Illinois politics. Plus we're talking about a governor who's been hated by Democrats and Republicans alike. He's had no real credibility with either for the past few years. His approval ratings have been lower than President Bush's for months if not the past year. The President's an angel compared to him. One more thing, the ethics law that Blagojevich is mentioned in the complaint to have been in a race against before it takes effect on Jan 1 is the same law he tried to veto but Both Democrats and Republicans in our state legislature were able to come together overwhelmingly to override that veto. This was one of my proudest moments for our state because the law will severely limit the amounts state lobbyists contribute to state elected officials.

Hey Rocky, thanks Pia I'm after Bass though. The Bass Pro shops XPS rod is a real nice one too, it's a 75K mils wrap and the Johnny Morris is their best rod with an 85K mils wrap. it compares with the Loomis and the Green River Rods. The JM is about 150 on sale and maybe not worth the extra cost. The problem i am confronted with is that my lady insists that I have the best. I married well and I would be the last person in this world to disappoint her. I hope you understand.

    • Posted By: Rocky2001 @ 12/10/2008 6:12:39 PM

Not a lot of people know the XPS rod is so nice.....Try a soft plastic called "Lunker Lures"....Crawdad or Nightcrawler. I Texas rig mine but Carolina Rig works too!!

  • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 12/10/2008 5:08:50 PM

If President Obama, whom i supported with my money, vote and work, wants me to believe that neither he nor his reps weighed in on the Senate opening with Blago, forget it! I was born at night but it wasn't last night. Deniability has workrd so good for so long that politicians just deny everything. This only serves to get the press agitated.

  • Posted By: JoanR @ 12/10/2008 4:05:28 PM

I definitely blame Bush,Cheney and the NeoCons for this.Blagojevich was just a Governor who lived in Obama's neighborhood

    • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 12/10/2008 4:53:37 PM

Tell us you're kidding. Quickly now!

      Of course you do....LOL!!

  • Posted By: Vote Now @ 12/10/2008 4:52:02 PM

This says it all, President-Elect Obama was not interested in playing those games???the following quote was taken from an actual conversation Blago had which was tapped:

Nothing in the criminal complaint suggests that Obama ever discussed any deal with Blagojevich. And in some places, Blagojevich is quoted by prosecutors as being frustrated with Obama???s transition team.

???Blagojevich said he knows that the President-elect wants Senate Candidate 1 for the Senate seat,??? the complaint states, ???but ???they???re not willing to give me anything except appreciation. [Expletive] them.??? ???

I hate to leave you guys to go Fishing at Lake Istokpoga, Florida. It's going to be a chilly trip with temperatures plunging into the low 70s. You know the old adage..Give a man a fish and you've fed him for the day, but give a man a 7' Johnny Morris Special Edition Rod and a top of the line Pfluger Bait Casting Reel with 200 yards of Spiderwire braided 30 pound test line and a 4/0 Superline Hook with a Zoom Watermellon Fluke tipped with a 1/32 oz. Florida Rig and he's set for life.

    • Posted By: Rocky2001 @ 12/10/2008 3:49:56 PM

Bass Pro shop rods are just as good for half the price....I'm just sayin.

      • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 12/10/2008 4:44:09 PM

I don't think so Rocky, but for the price you may be right. The JM is 85k mils wraped and the XPS is only 75K. Of course Johnny Morris is the top of the line Bass Pro Rod, right up there with loomis and Green River. I've fished with the BPS xtreme and liked it . The problem is i married well and my lady wants me to have the bast. what.kind of a person would i be if i disappointed her? I use an Ugly stick on the lake i live on 30 bucks. My good stuff stays on my boat at my storage yard.. On sale the JM is 150.

Hey ... I like this Rod fellow ... he knows how the game is played. He had a gold chip in the pile and was going to play it for all it was worth. I wonder if Axelrod has regained his thought processes. After all, Barry had a meeting ... no ... Barry did not have a meeting ... I misspoke ... sheeeesh ... how transparent was that one. Rod's Ploy was not any different than Joe Kennedy getting some grift for his son. Barry is in deeper water now where the sharks are bigger and faster. Here's to Barry treading water.

I think anyone, in the House, unless in their first term and every senator and certainly anyone who becomes president or Vice president, has used their position for personal profit for themselves or a relative or a friend. It's no different than most of us outside of politics who have used a contact or taken advantage of a situation that we were in a position to know about. It's wrong to be certain and sometimes it comes back to bite you. Obviously i'm not talking about Blago but i yhink virtually everyone has a skeleton in the close. those in politics that do must constantly worry about that.

    • Posted By: Skypoint @ 12/09/2008 9:07:23 PM

Go ahead... as a perfect liberal, you'll find an excuse somehow. Gee.... everyone else does it!

      • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 12/10/2008 1:30:44 PM

Why do you say that to me? When have i ever alibied or rationized any democrats misdeeds? Why am i a liberal? Is it because i'm not a mouth-breathing member from the GOP party of hate?

  • Posted By: paulfeiner @ 12/09/2008 9:22:24 PM

US Senators should be elected, not appointed by one person. This is a democracy, not china. State constitutions should be amended to require special elections. PAUL FEINER, Greenburgh Town Supervisor

    • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 12/10/2008 1:26:32 PM

I think it depends on the time left in the term. A special election is very expensive.

      • Posted By: Yuseff @ 12/10/2008 1:14:53 PM

Seeing as the President Elect and the governor of Illinois disliked each other, I wouldn't call them birds of a feather. HolyRoller, you wouldn't be a pedophile like those priests would you? You know what they say about birds of a feather......

        • Posted By: Repubssuck @ 12/10/2008 1:25:04 PM

Well said, my dear. Chicago politics have a history of being dirty, but this is beyond the pale...

  • Posted By: Dashahaven @ 12/10/2008 12:40:10 PM

So he thought he was "stuck", well let me tell you it's those of us in the state of Illinois that have been "stuck" with this idiot! He favor's Chicago while ingnoring that there are other parts of the state. He's only been down state on three occasions! It is a vile man who would take money from a hospital that treats children just because he cannot get a "contribution." Don't even get me started on his wanting to be appointed as head of the federal Health and Human Services. He can't even pay the DHS in his own state. They are 5 MONTHS BEHIND. Imagine what he would have done to the national group. He stated that his arrest is not hurting the people of Illinois, what a joke. What a sick, vile, egotist! I hope our senators throw his assests out!!

Now people.....President Elect Barry never had any off-color affiliations in his life. He deserves a free-pass for his 4 full years. He should never be asked any tough questions, and if by chance someone does. That question and answer should simply be ignored. It's obvious those tough questions are coming from racists!!!

BaaaaaaaaaaaYaaaaaaaaaaaaWaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHaaaaaaaaaa....Sorry I thought I could get through it without laughing.

Merry Christmas, I'm off fishing at Lake Istokpoga for a week and then visiting the Grandmonsters in Hotlanta and then back to Florida to party down. Please feel free to call me what you will if you think it warranted. I can promise I will neither react or change. remember i say what Sky said was moronic not that he is a moron. I know you see the difference. Bella says hi and that she agrees with me. Of course i just gave her a trear.

Enjoy the fishing and be careful.. a friend just came back from the Great Lakes region and brought me enough trout to feed an army...in the for freezer now...Have a great visit with the Grandmonsters, lol, very cute I'm sure, you know you love them. As for me calling you anything I want...okay, I call you my blogger friend!

Hi to little Bella and I wish you and your family a magical Christmas.
