Politicians in south side Chicago are nothing than "cons" including Obama. If you recalled, Obama was claiming long ago that his Senate seat should be given to an African American..Therefore, his right hand R. Emmanual was sent to do the job and negotiate with Blagojevich. Obama is so smart that he does cover his bases everytime and always send a surrogate to do his dirty job leaving his hands clean. He got to were he is so fast because of his connection to the Chicago political corruption, no questions about it. Look at his connection to Ayer (offering party for him), Rezko (whose wife bought land next to his, than sell it to him under cover, his wife (getting a 200% raise once he became senator, for contracts and favors in return), his buying of Hillary and Bill campaign time (for favor like job offer and paying their bills), his paying of ACORN parent company of over $800,000, in return he got millions of fraudulent votes (from Donald Duck, to Jimmie Boys, to dead people, criminals and crack house brain-freezed imbeciles), to his campaign fundraising fraud (thousands of contributions by Mr. Good Will, to prepaid-cards and credit card contributions from overseas). Are those actions different than what Blagojevick has done. Ethically, both man are corrupted. This is the change that Washington DC must become familiar with, TRUE CHANGE, which is a "CHANGE, CHICAGO-STYLE".

"I know nuffink! Nuffink! Nuffink!" We have elected Sgt Schultz it seems. Didn't know about Rev Wright, didnt know about Tony Rezko, didn't know his aunt was an illegal alien, didn't know his Senate seat was for sale when he put in a request for who he wanted it filled w/ to a known crook for a Governor. Hirsh, either he's an idiot or he thinks we're all idiots. After reading this article I know who one idiot is at least.

It's heartwarming to see the McCainiacs and racists are still pulling on their leashes and drooling over the prospect of sliming Obama before he even gets inaugurated. Why don't you supporters of a losing party grow up and give this man a chance to show what he's made of? Listen, just about anyone would be preferable to the religious crank who's finally leaving office, and the change I seek is a turn away from the policies of a delusional president who has brought this country low, leaves Obama with 2 wars to deal with, a ruptured economy, record trade and budget deficits and disgrace on the world stage. I'm no fanatic for Obama, but I voted for him, and I hope to see something better from him than the idiot you people probably voted for twice.

I think that every man has a story to tell. But Barack Obama handles himself with dignity and he doesn't allow himself to get caught up with any type of "cronnies". I'm sure that he know that being a black man is hard enough, but being a black man in power your record has to pretty much be squeky clean. I mean who hasn't smoked some type of drug in their lifetime, who hasn't lied before? All of these people saying that Barack is just as corrupt or will end up that way are wrong. he has so much going for him and so much at stake. Barack is truly an american to be proud of, so all this hearsay, keep it to yourself because Obama will be the best president of all times.

There was an appearance at another article, yes. It truly is pathetic the lengths to which people will go to prove something to themselves. It just doesn't favorably impress anyone else. Pitiful.

I do not believe that BHO did not know what the govenor was doing. and I think Jesse Jackson Jr. is a crook just like his old man.

  • Posted By: Budswisr @ 12/12/2008 5:01:06 PM

Nice story but I do not believe BHO is telling the truth when he says he did not know Bligot was selling his senate seat. Jesse Jackson Jr. is just as clean as his old man, The preacher without a church.. I hope JJ gets the deposit back he put down on the seat.

  • Posted By: Jim F. @ 12/12/2008 3:36:14 PM

Barack Obama and Rahm Emanuel are in the inner circle of Chicago politics. They would know if Blago was selling the Senate seat. Only a naiive idiot would think otherwise.

I want to hear that it was Chicago insiders Barack Obama and his Chief Emanuel who fingered Blago. THIS WOULD BE CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN!

Otherwise, it is Chicago politics moving in to the White House.

"Barack Obama and Rahm Emanuel are in the inner circle of Chicago politics. They would know if Blago was selling the Senate seat."

Sing Rod. Sing. Tells us who it was that in City Hall, or in Hyde Park, or in Lincoln Park, or in the various fine restaurants on Randolph Street betrayed the public. Sing to the prosecutor. Sing to us. Sing for all time too. Tell us Rod who were the lardly pigs that you helped fatten. Tells us now. Before inauguration day.

Yesterday I went to Walter Reed Hospital to visit some to the veterans of the Iraq war, I met a young man by the name of Joseph he had just turned 20 in Novemeber, he lost his leg in Iraq. in July I myself am a veteran, I retired from the Coast Guard, now I know a lot of people don't see the Coast Guard as part of DOD but we are, and the Coast Guard has served in every war. But my point here is if any of you ever have the time or could make the time (i know this is of discussion) please go visit our vets, they enjoy having visitors and they want to share their stories. You are allowed to bring them supplies, you can get a list of things that they need and enjoy. Once you see and talk to the young vets, maybe all the bickering and hatred will stop. PE Obama is our PE can we please just give him a chance. Who's right, who's wrong, who's good, who's bad...and so on. What we need in this country is the ability to love, care and respect each other. I know that we are all entitled to our opinions, that is why we have so many maimed young men and women in our military hospitals today. Go visit a vet and just maybe you will see what I saw.

"Man is conceived in sin and bornm of corruption," says the article, as far as I know about Church of Christ thelogy they deny original sin. I belive Obama claims his Christainity through this church. Check it if you are interested.

It appears that you might have many misconceived 'beliefs'.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 12/12/2008 3:52:08 PM

Sorry none of that BS worked during the election. Barak Obama is the President Elect of the United States of America. Many...Many...Many...More American Citizens voted for him than the other candidate. Get used to it or not either way come January 20th He and the rest of his family will move into the White House.

  • Posted By: Sara Sota @ 12/12/2008 10:04:33 AM

The aricle is about how the truth is much strager than fiction, that to ultimately do good, you have to outsmart with approval and step on toes to get to higher positions to actually getting back to fulfill the promises you intended to "do-good" on in the first place. I hope he is right, becasue right now it looks like a pattern and the fulfillment of all the critics of Obama and his clearly transparent contradictions. Including myself, but like many I hope i'm wrong. At least this article admits man conception of being born in sin, but Gods will would never lie to ultimately do good. He got elected by many religious pluralsitic philosphies, appeasing many faiths and may "spiritual" teachings, people criticize oraganized religion much, but when it comes down to it everyone craves secutiy and protection of purity. If he truly knows theone true God and really belives in salvatin, he will get to the cross, admit and come clean and not drag the public down and governmet down in his own vain legacy like the Clintons do. Wait , maybe i'm not that hopeful after all.

Sorry 'bout that. I see that when I first typed my offering in a word program to avoid spelling errors it did not copy well into this discussion rectangle. Every doulbe or single quotation mark was translated into three question marks. I do hope it does not make the nature of the message incomprehensible.

Hey Ken, Good to see you again. After you paste from a Word document, you have to go back and redo all the punctuation and other unusual marks. But it looks like you already saw that.

Being born and raised in Chicago, it's hard to believe that Obama's hands are gojo clean on this one. Especially when his close association with Rezko goes hand in hand with the issue at hand. It's like a childs puzzle: The peices are so big and easy to put together that the solution is obvious, just no one wants to put them together because of how it might change history. Who cares if he's a corrupt fabricator and has no leadership experience...lets make him the first black president!

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/12/2008 3:27:44 PM

I expect more people voted against Obama than for him because of his color. As I see it, he was elected in spite of his color. It had nothing to do with my vote, although I am as proud of my country as ever that the electorate would pick him in spite of all the racism, smears and fabrications his opposition threw at him. Keep throwing. You might actually hit something.

Down in the heat of Guantanamo Bay in 1947 we spent tedious hours in the beastly heat of the sun practicing "manning the rail" exercises in the off chance that President Truman might at some time be present when our ship sailed by. It never happened but that did nothing to relieve the rancor in my heart i felt for that man. It was many years later when i had matured a bit that I came to realize that Harry S. Truman was possibly both the finest and the greatest president with which our country has ever been blessed.

For similar reasons, after digesting the books written by President-elect Barack Obama, I harbor the strongest of feelings that this incoming President will in that sense be a reincarnation of the man from Missouri.

Oh my aching BACK...comparing these two men in any way, at this point, is pure bullsh!t. This gets wrose and worse! Please back away from Barrack's backside, slowly, since the light, at first, might shock you. I am not a racist. I wish Condi would run for Pres. I am someone who is appalled at what I have read and seen and heard about this man and his cronies. They all are sinister and alarming and the media loves them, like it loved Clinton. This is gonna be just like Clinton, but without the sex, I hope.

      • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/12/2008 4:11:01 PM

Aren't you the one who made that speech below about Sarah not being convicted of anything? Since the only acceptable alternative you identified is female, maybe you're just blinded by your own sexism.

Btw, Hillary called all the press' kindness toward Bill, a vast right wing conspiracy.

    • Posted By: 40YearR @ 12/11/2008 9:15:51 PM

Reading his books certainly opened my eyes. Thought he was fluff till then. (Thank you for all the anonymous emails with bogus purported quotes in them, forwarded to me by all my right wing LIV friends. Got me curious. Probably wouldn't have read them otherwise.) After reading them, I saw that his elocution is only a reflection of his brilliance and wisdom, not the sum of it. His books are by far the most brilliant of all the books I've read by presidents or candidates. As far as I'm concerned, no one has the right to opine on his talent, skills or qualifications till they read those books.

      A 40 year republican

Mr. Blagojevich do you want to go down in history as a disgraced politician or do you want to go down in history as the man who pulled the curtain back and exposed Mayor Daley, and Mr. Emmanuel, and Mr. Jackson Jr, and Ms. Jarret, and Mr. Jackson Sr, and Mr. Emil Jones, and Mr Gutierrez, and Mr. Sanders, and Ms. Knight, and Mr. Mifune, and Ms. Soliz, and Mr. Mitchell, and Mr. Sauckel, and Mr. Gomez, and Mr. Durbin, and Mr. Troyen, and Mr. Balikoswki, and Mr. Obama.

Hirsh You are totally out of your Left-winged liberal mind.. Obama has been part of the "Chicago Mob" for years. Look who his past friends are. He has been aligned with corrupt figure heads even before he was in politics. How sad that the media has lost all respect and integrity just to cover-up and protect your missiah..It took 650 million dollars just to get the no-nothing elected..

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 12/12/2008 3:57:00 PM

Soooo are you implying that Obama BOUGHT THE GENERAL ELECTION? If so then you are stating that WE the American people sold it.

Damn! my check must have gotten lost in the mail.

If there had been some real substantial dirt on Obama, don't you think the GOP would have found it during the presidential campaign. Those guys can sniff out filth better than anyone (like attracts like, you see).
